Great face-to-face customer service

I went in to my local Screwfix branch (Croydon - Purley Way) to measure up a replacement syphon for a toilet cistern. I was served by Jennifer who was extra-helpful - bringing me different ones to look at so I could compare against the old one I had with me.

It was really nice to be looked after like that, for a trivial, £20 purchase. Very pleased and I hope her management let her know what a great job she's doing.

Very poor service

I ordered and paid for an item and Ive waited days for the item to be delivered to the store. All I get is the item is being delivery from our distribution centre. I can not get a refund direct, therefore luckily paying by PayPal I can raise a case for this missing item.

Stores Good but delivery not great

Lots of visits needed while updating the kitchen but I'd recommend collect from store.

The one time I ordered online they sent a B&Q product that screwfix don't even sell - I ordered a box of screws & received a towel rail??!!

They fixed it for me in store.

New System Stinks

Went into Washington shop with the catalogue numbers of the items I wanted . I was told I must use the computer tablets . You can’t just give the numbers at the till you must use that’s the system . The member of staff after dealing with someone ahead of me . Then asked me for the numbers etc and did it for me and directed me to the till to pay . This is a ridiculous waste of my time and despite the offhand manner I encountered. My new system is to go elsewhere ( toolstation )
Screwfix need to re think which is more important there new system or keeping customers.

Cheapskates…don't lose your receipt it will cost you money

I went to the Gravesend West Mill Screwfix branch yesterday to return a full but faulty can of No Nonsense Foam Gun Cleaner. The young lady checked my account and said that there were none showing in my history and without the receipt she could not replace it. I asked to speak to the manager and he said the same thing. I bought this a few months ago to keep as a spare in my van as the one I already had was getting low. I then complained online and someone rang today but I missed the call while driving. They left a message though saying the same thing ...no receipt no replacement. Firstly, ‘No Nonsense’ products are Screwfix’s own brand so regardless of me not having a receipt it should have been replaced. The can was still full but would not operate, clearly it was not fit for purpose. The lady at Gravesend surmised that maybe I paid in cash and it wasn’t put through the computer system to show on my account....hardly my fault but it’s cost me money. It’s not really the cost though, it is the principle behind this. Just penny pinching and mean spirited. I have spent thousands of pounds over the years at Screwfix in the course of my business, but you get treated like this over a £5.49 can of cleaner. Toolstation will be getting my business from now on, cheaper too on a lot of products.

Terrible click and collect service

Terrible click and collect service, items ordered; various sandpaper and filler, not exactly unusual items, and the items showed as being in stock.
went to collect and informed it will be the next day and to wait for a message. Next day I received no message, so had to go to Selco. Again I received no communication and at 8pm had to use chatline to request a refund.

Went in to screwfix this morning around 7.00 in Colchester Greenstead Rd and was welcomed with very unhelpful girl who clearly got out of the bed the wrong side wasn’t happy with the service I received, argumentative wasn’t what I was expecting, so I’d suggest putting her out the back away from customers.

I was in Screwfix in Ravenhill road Belfast about 12.30pm. I needed to order a radiator and buy a few things. I went to the counter I was greeted by a lovely who could not be more helpful. She was patient while I decided on length of an item I needed and even went on too show me a few to determine what I needed. She also gave me 10% discount on a voucher she had and saved me money. Unfortunately I did not get her name but she had blonde hair and blue nail polish. Very happy in her job. So pleasant and happy, first time in a long time I come out of a shop with a happy experience.

Non diy ers beware

Purchased a mixer tap 11 months ago, tap developed a drip. Spoke to store, who were very helpful but basically said the tap was guaranteed for 19 years but I had to purchase another one and when my plumber removed the faulty one, return the faulty one for a refund.
So I had to pay again for a plumber remove the faulty tap and to fit a new tap at a cost of £40.00 then drive back to the store for a refund. So the faulty tap, guaranteed for 10 years has cost me over £50.00.
Screwfix opened a new store near me and distributed leaflets about how they supply to the trade and the public. Beware if you are a member of public who cannot fix things yourself. If your product develops a fault, not your fault, yes they will replace it but you have to purchase a new one, pay to have it replaced, then return the faulty one therefore incurring tradesman costs and travel to and from store.
Spoke to customer services who basically said well we gave you a refund in the faulty tap but we won’t pay for the additional plumbing or associated costs

Mac Allister MSRH600 SDS Plus Drill from Screwfix.

I bought the below drill in 2019 and it's been used approx a dozen times. I'm a keen DIYer so didn't want to buy something industrial and bought the Mac Allister MSRH600 2.6kg Electric SDS Plus Drill 220-240V, cost £49.99. Yesterday the chuck stopped holding drills, something doesn't look right with it. The guarantee is only 2 years but the drill looks in great condition as it's been hardly used. I've contacted Screwfix but they are no help.
Don't buy this drill, spend a bit more money and get something robust that hopefully won't break just past guarantee!!

Awful service . John Wayne comes to mind

Awful service ,not in stock , they do not inform you when it is in stock , so just cancelled the order and went elsewhere , will never try to use again . The Hassle is not worth the few pence you save as compared to Screwfix. So its to Screwfix for me in the future .
And dont bother replying to this review tool station, you will just sound pathetic in my view.
Update this is about Toolstation not screwfix.
Silly me.

Waste of a tradesman's time......

Screwfix Bridlington. Purchased a bifold shower screen and when opened found damaged, so had to take back to store to re order. Wait for another to arrive following day and also damaged. Then when I needed to re order I couldn't as I had left my Trade card at home, thing is it was already paid for.
GUESS I TRY TOOLSTATION and see how I get on there.
Well done Screwfix lost a good customer.....
