I cannot rate Dr Lawson highly enough! I contacted him out of the blue as a potential Chemistry tutor for my daughter who is currently sitting AS Levels and who aspires to study medicine. Although he had not supported a student living in NI before and studying the CCEA syllabus, he was more than willing and quick to research the exam board's requirements and to purchase any additional material required to aid him when supporting his new student. This man goes above and beyond. He is always punctual, enthusiastic and very approachable. He has made Chemistry fun and more accessible in a short period of time. After three sessions, my daughter commented on how she now 'understands Chemistry' and has stated that she has found his support to be invaluable. She is approaching her exams with confidence, increased knowledge and enhanced understanding.

Dr Lawson is simply the best. Straight to the point, extremely helpful and always happy to give both academic and moral support. When I was struggling he made me feel like I could do so much more than I believed and it's helped me see an improvement myself - his revision and exam techniques are top! Made it so now when I try questions I don't feel so helpless. Couldn't have asked for a more amazing tutor and better person to help me through A level Chemistry, truly!

Dr Lawson to me is less of a tutor and more of a academic bestfriend. He has been with me since year 9 and I am currently only 2 months away from sitting my A levels. Dr Lawson is a NO BS tutor who kind of works like a doctor. You describe to him what you struggle with and he 'diagnoses' you and gives you the correct treatment every time. Whatever he says, do because I started believing in his philosophy a bit too late and it cost me a lot of effort and time but I can see now exactly why he enforces his ways so heavily, because they work like magic. However as he says, it is never ever too late. Best tutor I have ever had for my subjects and I will always continue to recommend him to others for as long as he is in this job.

Really great tutor! He goes through everything from scratch to unsure you understand the topic and can always provide you with extra knowledge outside the syllabus to put things in context and make it a littl emore interesting. The lessons are lead by you too, so they are taylored to exactly what you need.

I started having tutoring from Andrew when I failed my Chemistry foundation course and needed to resit the exam within only a few months. Andrew was adaptable, patient and supportive. He managed to fit around my schedule and although I was on a short time period for my resit exam he made sure we had enough time to cover everything we needed to without it feeling too overwhelming. In just two months I went from a fail to getting a 1st class result in my chemistry - all thanks to Andrew.

As someone sitting their GCSEs and a few other maths and physics competitions this year, Andrew's super unique teaching style really helped to up my confidence, and I got the highest marks in my year for my maths (95%) and physics (90%) mock exams. He really focuses on using knowledge and understanding, not just memorising and parroting facts from the textbook: would definitely recommend for anyone struggling to understand the core concepts in chem, maths or physics.

Andrew is a great tutor who has helped me with Chemistry A level for the past 5 months. With his help, I have gone from getting a B overall in my end-of-year 12 exams to an A* in a recent exam.
His method of tutoring is interactive and encourages you to use knowledge rather than memorisation techniques.

Andrew has really helped my daughter get her confidence back and start enjoying Chemistry again. He thoroughly explains every topic and goes through exam questions after she feels she is confident in her understanding of the material. He also encourages her to use her knowledge to work out the answers to questions (rather than what she has memorised) and he gives great exam advice and tips. He also asks very challenging questions in order to gauge what she can and can`t do in order to tackle her weaknesses from the start and work on building up missing skills. We will be going back for more lessons as the exams approach.
