If we could give negative stars, we would. Totally avoid this company, Snack Crate. Seems to be a scam. We ordered $50 worth of candy on November 22, it is now mid-December, and nothing! No word from Snack Crate, no email, nothing. There is no customer service number, they do not provide a tracking number, do not answer emails. There is a "chat" feature on their website, which does not work; another scam. How does this company stay in business?

They delivered first order to my old address but it was returned at that time i I emailed them and they stated they would update my new address and send it to me in which they did, Fir the December order they shipped to the old address again and I emailed them letting them know and the have not resolved but ignored me. They ar a scam,

I signed up for a crate on a black friday special and had nothing but problems. The snacks themselves were not worth the price of the box and most of them were stale. I was hoping to get a refund and cancel my subscription but was informed that it wasn't possible. Apparently the only way to get out subscriptions even when unsatisfied is to pay more money to the company, they called it "fair exit option". Whats fair about paying another $30 to a company that scammed me and refuses to refund an unhappy customer? Definitely a shady and scammy company, I've used other snack subscriptions in the past and never had any issues with my orders or ending subscriptions whenever I wanted. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

I purchased a one time box as a gift. I was supposed to be charged $35.99 as this was the total when paying with Apple Pay. Once I received the apple notification, the final charge was $44.99. This was not tax. I wrote the company via their email address and was informed that I had upgraded the box hence the additional $9. This was not the case. If I had, it should have shown in my total at time of payment. It did not. Their solution was for me to return the box and exchange it for the lesser priced one. It’s a gift being sent to someone in another area. I’m not asking them to return it. I decided to let it go but I feel that they need to be reviewed as this is a deceptive business practice. I will not purchase from them again and want others to beware of them as well.

Horrible company. Horrible customer service. After realizing that there was a problem with the charges, I tried to cancel. It was an hour after I made the order. They refused.
I got the run around.
I contacted my bank to remove the charge.
Avoid this company.

Horrible they don’t let you cancel or try not let you. I called my bank and they handled it. Worst company ever with really bad snacks. Avoid at all costs!

Overpriced box full of cheap nestle junk. Seriously, every item in the box was a nestle product that tasted exactly the same as...you guessed it..the nestle products HERE, where i live. Decided to cancel after the first few boxes because of the garbage quality, but couldn't because they dont provide that option online; only renew or "pause" which doesnt actually pause.
I thankfully used a virtual card through my bank when signing up and only had to deactivate the card. They attempted to charge me twice before finally stopping.
Now, nearly 6 months later, they are once again trying to charge my virtual card that declines the charge every single time, but that doesnt seem to stop them from trying at least once a day...EVERYDAY.
Garbage company.
If you want a good snackbox, try universal yums. Ive used them off and on for years and have never had a single complaint. Snackcrate on the other hand....your company is crap and i hope it fails.

I am giving it a one star because there is no place for a zero. This company is a fraud. They never sent my box - which by the way I was tricked into signing up for. I never intended to sign up for it. Then I never received it. Then they ignored my complaints and demand for refund - initially. Then when they finally started responded they lied to my bank saying I receive it. They lied saying it was left at my door - but I did not use my home address. I used a UPS Mailbox address which means they would have been logged in if it was actually delivered to me. It was not. Now I have to take them to court to get my money back after multiple demands for a refund! To prove they are a scam, I sent a final demand for a full refund and they blocked my email. I also found online where other people had the same issue with them.

It was fun for a moment, although it really doesn’t feel like you get what is advertise. My biggest issue with the company has been how difficult it has been to cancel the subscription. I have never had such a difficult time trying to cancel a subscription and trying to get my money back for products I did not want. I emailed many times over the months and explain to them that I did not want a subscription anymore that I no longer wanted to pay for it and they continue to send the box and take my money $42 a month and they kept asking to confirm the cancellation that I had to wait until the subscription was over at the end of the six months. And I continue to explain to them that I no longer wanted it and I no longer wanted to pay for it and they made it exceedingly difficult. I finally just had to cancel my card so they could no longer take my money. That entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I would recommend anybody trying a product like this should go to universal Yums instead.
Edit: Since I can't reply back to Snack Crates Reply: Yes we came to an agreement and were able to cancel AFTER I let you guys know TWICE that I had canceled my card and you would no longer be able to get any money from me regardless of the cancellation or not. Of course, you're going to cancel then as you're unable to get any money.
I see this is an issue for a lot of people that review your products. Perhaps in order to attain better customer retention, this policy should be reviewed, because it seems like you are losing a lot of customers due to this factor. Just my opinion though.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews — almost all of them are from people who tried to scam the system and got caught doing it so they’re mad and nasty. Yes, SnackCrate offers several different kinds of plans to choose from when you sign up. Some of those plans are commitment-based, where you’re signing up for 6 months or a year, and if you do that you are locking yourself into that amount of time. If you only want to try it once, you need to pick the monthly plan option so you can cancel right away, but after the first box you won’t want to cancel! They send you real authentic snacks from a different part of the world every month and it’s a really cool experience. It’s so much more than just snacks. And the customer service team will do anything they can to help you out if something goes wrong. One time I had a bag of chips that busted open and a candy bar that was melted inside the box. I was on vacation when it got delivered so I didn’t notify customer service until about a week later. Didn’t matter, they resolved the issue quickly and efficiently, no hassle just great friendly service. They are truly a snack service that cares about your experience, and they work hard to ensure you enjoy every single box. Yeah things go wrong sometimes and boxes could be late, but the customer service team makes it all worth the wait. Don’t knock it until you give them a shot – YOU WON’T REGRET IT!!

They advertised a promotion so I looked through their terms and FAQs to make sure I wasn't committing to anything, especially for something I'd never tried before. Nowhere in the site or during the sign up process did it indicate that it was for a commitment, so I continued for the promotional box. Not long after receiving the promotional box, I was charged for the next box. I got on my account to cancel because my family and I weren't impressed with the contents and country information provided(we've been doing Universal Yums for years and LOVE it, and were just trying this to see how it compared) and there was nowhere to cancel. It said I had 10 boxes left and there was a place to "pause subscription". I tried to hit pause so I could get to the bottom of what was going on and saw in tiny print at the bottom of the page that no edits would take place until September of 2026. I immediately attempted to contact customer service, got a response back 2 days later and after the 2nd email and was treated as if I "accidentally" signed up for the wrong promotional box. They offered to cancel, but not without upcharging the promotional box to full price. Terrible experience all around. STEER CLEAR OF THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY. THEY HAVE 112 COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO THIS WITH BBB. THE ONLY THING I DID WRONG WAS NOT RESEARCH THE COMPANY PRIOR TO SIGNING UP FOR THIS PROMOTION.

**EDIT You always have an excuse. Customs. Storms. Stuck on boat. So that response doesn’t work for me. I don’t want to pause. I told you that. I want to cancel and not have to pay you $40 for the promotion. Since you aren’t holding your end up of the contract, yet I am.**
If I could give zero I would!!!! Run!!!!! This company will charge you on time every month, and every month you don’t get your box on time. It’s September 18 and I haven’t even received August, paid for August, and September and nothing to show for either month. The tracking on August shows ‘label created September 11” 😡 I did the promotion and now if I want to cancel they want $40 for literally nothing. To ‘cover the cost of their promotion’ so I hold up my end of this contract, paying every month. But you don’t have to hold up your end of the contract? That’s asinine. Annnnd I’m stuck paying because I refuse to give you $40 FOR NOTHING

Got charged for and Received August. Charged for Sept, and Oct. but got nothing so far for Sept. I tried to cancel my subscription, but they won't do it until the year is up. How do I stop them from stealing from me? I no longer wish to be affiliated with this rip off of a company any longer and I can't get a reply from Customer Service.

This is hands down the worst subscription service to ever grace the earth. Don't walk, RUN, as far away as you possibly can. Go with Universal Yums.
Every single month, they have some delay or another. I understand things happen, but man this company has the absolute worse luck, according to them. When you reach out, they will reply with the same generic diatribe, but will NEVER even attempt to make things right. Here it is mid September, and they are blaming hurricane Erin for the late boxes this month. Even though every other international order ive made (6 and counting) has come through just fine and without delay. Whoever is in charge of ordering, logistics or both, should consider another career path. The customer service team, while fairly quick to respond, basically just tells you whatever the delay is this month, and to hang in there, instead of doing anything for the customer. If I treated my customers this way, I would either not have any, or be refunding everything constantly. Do better Snackcrate, or get out of the way for the other services who manage to deliver on their promises.

Worst subscription ever! Charged for August ,September and October when I haven’t received my August box. Tired to cancel but hasn’t gotten any response yet. They just keep charging my card.

This is the worst thing I've ever Joined. First someone said they canceled their subscription, however I was told you have to complete your entire subscription. I paid a day late and instead of getting it in the first week I won't receive it until the week of the 15th. Be advise to watch your bank account for additional charges. They will charge for add ons that you don't receive. Most of the snack are wasted and thrown away. I would not suggest this service to anyone.

I cancel my subscription for July, since I have not been happy with my snacks. I have not received any snack boxes since June. So I see changes on my credit card for September and August! Now they stop sending me boxes but still charging my card!!! This is illegal and fraud! I emailed them asking for them to refund my money so now I’m waiting on my response to my email, I will keep you all posted.

Very unprofessional never ships on time and takes an entire month if not longer tried to cancel the subscription and get my refund told me I couldn’t then when I asked to speak to there hired up they refused so I am making a lawsuit against them if anyone has the same problems please leave your statement

Paid for my first box and was excited to try interesting new international snacks. My box arrived and I was extremely disappointed to find that it had boring American snacks in it, including three pieces of salt water taffy that were completely melted and inedible. I also got a bag of average BBQ chips I could have bought for $1 anywhere. They make it incredibly difficult to cancel your subscription. If they had just been more transparent (or sent me a halfway decent box), I wouldn't be writing this. I'd take the loss as my own fault. My problem is that they're using shady business tactics. They purposely hide info about how you must commit to your subscription in the fine print. They distract you with big colorful messaging throughout the entire signup process that you can "cancel anytime." And then they make you pull your hair out looking for a cancellation button that literally doesn't exist. When you finally give up and go to talk to someone, they make you feel guilty for wanting a refund/cancellation on a product that was not at all what you expected. After I complained enough, they charged me $39 to cancel (this fee is not stated at all anywhere in their fine print - trust me, I learned my lesson and checked). So in the end, I paid $45 for a few underwhelming American snacks, melted taffy, and a headache. I know many companies who would have listened to my VALID complaints and done better to make things right. I wasn't even asking for my money back. I was asking to cancel future orders. They wouldn't be losing any money by letting me cancel for free. So congrats, you got your money, hope your greed was worth another bad review and customer who will tell everybody they know to stay away.
