A tale of 2 shades
I’ve purchased 2 shades from Smith & Noble. Product selection is nice-looking, but limited.
Chain on solar shade I bought a couple (?) years ago, broke after @ 12 months. Also, bottom 6 inches of Solar shade (section which does not totally retract into “roller”) became discolored; l assumed it was my fault, b/c I smoke, but a contractor in my home for an unrelated job opined that the discoloration was due to sun damage…which seems odd for a “solar shade,” so who knows?
Hope the other shade (not solar) I bought last month fares better, as it cost almost twice as much as I expected!
I’ll probably order from them again though…Smith & Noble’s in-home customer service is excellent, even though product is only “OK.”

Can’t replace strings on my cellular blinds that are…
Strings on my cellular blinds that are in perfect condition broke. I live in San Francisco and not one blinds store has the part to replace. Contacted Smith and Noble to be told that they can’t do anything since it’s past the 5 year warranty.

Lousy customer service
Lousy customer service. Once youve had your product for 5 years there is NO customer service. You are on your own to change out motors and difficult to find replacements or anyone who can help install them. Buyer beware....... DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

The initial setup is fine but if you have any problems with your shades, you have to take them down and send them back and pay for the box (which means I would I would have to stay without shades for that time. They offered to send me paper shades in the meantime. When I went with them as a company, their representative said that they would fix any problems by sending someone out and that they would fix any issues (not just related to installation. Not worth the price for that follow up service. Go with another company.

I appreciate the courtesy and timeliness of service from Smith and Noble. As a small business owner, when ordering samples for custom interior design ideas, S&N have an amazing selection of fabrics, shades, drapes and other decor essentials. They never disappoint in quality or beauty.

See my original review posted on Feb. 16, 2023, and Management's response about a month later. Smith & Noble Customer Service is woefully incompetent. On March 14, after months of email conversations, they agreed to send us a refund for the poorly installed shutters on our kitchen bay window. To date--some six weeks later--we have received no such refund and no communication from Smith & Noble Customer Service representatives as to when we can expect it or why it is delayed. Original date of service was September 20, 2022. This is a horrible way to conduct business.

Easy do it yourself online configuration and ordering; excellent quality and responsive customer service. Quality shipping and packaging.
Be aware of problems
the person who came out to my house did not measure correctly. Got wrong size 1st time. Second time they got it right. Product beads broke apart within months. I did contact you. Still waiting for the connector for the beads. I was told I could not use the blinds until I got the connectors. Still waiting for them. NEVER RECEIVED CONNECTORS it’s been over a month. You should be ashamed over lack of communications to your customers. Again you never sent connectors and it’s been months. I will never do business with you again.
