I ordered blinds from the website, blinds were to be fitted horizontally in roof lights
When I received the blinds and looked the instructions I was seeing instructions for vertical fitting not Horizontal as the blinds were sold for.
Automated response to enquires and no answer to phone calls was frustrating to say the least.
I fitted the blinds myself using additional fixtures to hold the cassette in place as they wanted to fall out of the standard fixtures as the brackets are designed for vertical not horizontal fixing.
Having said all that I am pleased with the blinds, but I would and probably will go directly to the manufacturer who is not Skylight Blinds Direct, they are reselling the blinds which are manufactured in Northern Ireland by Bloc Blinds who also only sell the blinds for vertical fittings

From statr to finnish I would highly recommend Skylight Blinds Direct.

We recently purchased 3 window/door blinds and a lantern blind for our south facing extension. We absolutely love the end result and would highly recommend skylight. We chose motorised blinds so have two remotes on our wall that easily operates them. The blinds are so light and do a great job of shielding us from the sun without blocking out light.
Naomi and Steve were great from the start - we had an initial phone call followed by multiple WhatsApp’s to ensure we got the product right. I was blown away by the price compared to other quotes we got. Yes you have to install yourself but it was super simple to do so worth it. Delivery was quick and thankfully we got them up just in time for the May heatwave. Overall I’d highly recommend and would use them again!

The team at skylight blinds were brilliant with my order for a large blind for my Lantern roof. The customer service was absolutely excellent, and they were always on hand to assist with any queries that I had, including assistance with installation. The instructions for the installation are also very thorough which makes it easy for anyone to be able to assemble and fit the blind.

Good website with much information and guides available. Easy to obtain a quote and ask any questions about the product, and easy to order on line.
The electric roof blind is costly, but comparable and competitivly priced when set against other suppliers.
It was easy to install and is a neat and effective unit which does reduce the heat build up in a glass roofed conservatory.

I wanted blinds for my roof lanterns to stop the excessive glare from the sun during the middle of the day. With excellent advice from Naomi I ordered some fabric samples which arrived swiftly. I ordered 2 Electric Zip Roller blinds and Naomi was able to arrange the delivery of them at a convenient time. I carefully read the enclosed instructions and watched the very helpful installation videos and as a result the fitting of the blinds went exactly as planned and my wife and I are delighted with the result - the blinds are very high quality, work beautifully and look fantastic. I was having problems programming the remote control with one of the blinds but Naomi was absolutely brilliant at showing me how to solve the problem very quickly. I really appreciated the excellent customer service from this company and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Great product and service

I had a problem with motor on my skylight blind, it was faulty. I found that the after sales service was excellent. The motor was replaced and guidance was given on installing the new motor and on resetting the limits on the blind. This all being well after a year of purchase.
The blind is now working perfectly and as new.

I couldn't access online fitting instructions, but via messaging we managed to sort it out. The lady I spoke to was lovely and very friendly. Would be happy to recommend them.

The product is solidly built and robust, of excellent quality and looks great.
The solar battery is discreet and the fitting wasnt difficult, with measurements exactly to my specifications.
The service team always responded promptly when I had questions and were very helpful.

The large roof lantern blind that was supplied by Skylight Blinds-direct is very well made, simple to assemble and was easily fitted by two people using only four fixings into the opening. The opening into which it is fitted must be accurately measured to the millimetre to ensure a good fit. It was supplied very quickly and is of a very high quality, but still lightweight. The concertina blind slides very easily.

This is a very useful product. I installed the blinds myself, and although it was a bit difficult doing it alone, the guidelines provided were very helpful and allowed me to fit them properly.
I must say the after-sales service is exceptional. I forgot to arrange the insurance, but they contacted me to let me know they had already done it on my behalf and even sent me the certificate.

I had been looking for a particular blind without tension wires for a large corrector/orangery roof lantern - skylight blinds direct were able to make one for me in the dimensions I needed.
It arrived carefully folded up ready to be re-assembled and fitted.
They kept in contact regarding order progress and delivery dates etc and were there if I needed help with any questions along the way which fortunately I didn’t need to ask. A lot of the information I needed was on the website and the installation videos are very helpful. I Definately couldn’t have put together and installed the blind correctly without the comprehensive videos and help on the website.
The blind is installed, working and looks great! My wife and I are really pleased with it! It has taken a long time to find the correct blind for us, and the particularly large size made it difficult to find a company who would make it for us.

Although we installed ours ourselves, I would absolutely recommend having any large blinds (ours is 4.9 meters long!) professionally installed as this was not an easy task - trying to carefully lift and screw up a 5 meter long frame high above your head into a plasterboard ceiling recess is not something I would like to do again!
