Woefully slow response times
Woefully slow response times, over 4 days, and when you are supporting vulnerable adults to leave them without access to funds/ being able to shop is diabolical.
Once you manage to make human contact the support team are actually good but it does not make up for the frustration when there are technical issues preventing card use.
Need to add that there support via telephone service is woeful as it defaults to 99% of the time.
Great solution for independence with finances whilst having controls
I needed a safe way to help manage my brother’s money, he has a life long cognitive condition and a learning disability. He lives in supporting living arrangement with around the clock carers. His personal transactions were all handled either via petty cash I deposited into a council account or a carer paid and then had to get that reimbursed. Now he has a prepaid debit card, separate from banking, which he is supported to use as required, This works great and he pays directly for his personal transactions (shopping and the like). The process to register was seamless and the support is also first class and responsive. I would highly recommend for anyone that needs to support a family member, close relative, etc. to manage their money. I really like the auto top up from the account into the card feature which means I don’t have to worry if there is enough funds as often because I can have the card maintain a minimum balance, plus there a other great features to limit cash withdrawns, use of contactless, spending amounts on daily, monthly basis. The Sibstar team are also interested in feedback to improve the app and make it even better which is great too.
Helping a guy with Down’s syndrome
Needed a way to allow my son, who has Down’s syndrome, the freedom to spend his own money with essential safeguards. It has improved his confidence and sense of independence. The application process is a little daunting but the help on the website is superb.
Security that works
What a relief when Sibstar's security came into play, successfully declining two attempted suspicious withdrawals from my uncle's Sibstar card.
The Sibstar support advisor was extremely helpful in looking into this for me, but it was a shame I couldn't speak to someone straight away. I had to make a telephone appointment for the next day, but all went smoothly and the call was on time.

Sibstar had change the way my son manages his money . I am able to see and control how much he spends each day , even each hour . He has Downs Syndrome and has little idea about money . Sibstar has given him independence whilst not allowing him unlimited funds. It’s a game changer, I would recommend it to anyone who would be vulnerable with the use of money .
Only go ahead if you’ve the patience of a saint
I’ve had and am still having a terrible time trying to get anywhere with this company. It’s been months and they have money but I have no card. Customer service is vague at best. They’ve blamed everything, the post, a change of address but now they’re just ignoring my emails and telephone calls. It is torture and makes a distressing situation many times worse. I will keep going and I will get a card or the money they have back. It is disgusting that a financial services company can be so bad.
Solve issues quickly
Hard getting through to anyone, phone lines are always busy, but if you leave your details, someone usually gets back to you fairly quickly. Always friendly, helpful and very informative. Always help solve your issue very efficiently.
Real people providing real support
It was so easy to contact the company by phone or email - it was great to get straight through to a real person who was able to answer all the questions I had and help me get set up with minimum hassle. Very reassuring company to deal with - this is particularly welcome when navigating support for someone with dementia.

Delighted to find!
I was really pleased to find an organization that used an app but was able to accept photos that didn’t need a driving license or passport.
Although there was a delay after the application was finished, my email was acknowledged quickly and the card has been sent. My daughter will now be able to go shopping and I will have peace of mind.
getting a card for my sister who has a learning disability
I applied for a card for my sister who has a learning disability. I found the process straightforward with each step explained.
I found that Sibstar understand that clients like my sister may not have the documents other financial institutions request eg utility bills, and accepted a letter from her supported living to confirm her address.
Their customer service was very helpful.
William and other staff very helpful…
William and other staff very helpful and polite, made it so simple to get the card as I am not computer literate, having this card has kept a member of my family their independence, but also keeping them safe and giving us piece of mind .
Absolutely dire
Absolutely dire. This is for use of people who have additional needs and their carers. Don't bother. There is no clarity as to what is actually required. The app is useless. I uploaded all the information, photographs etc. It wanted me to do it over, Also there is no instruction or page to contact, you just hit a wall. I don't have time for this. I was applying because we have to pay £3.00 each time we load the Post Office card. This is £4.99 a month. I'll just carry on with my three pounds. I have asked them to destroy all of my data. If they want people who are less able to use this then they had better get on a learning curve,
Over a month and still waiting!
I have been trying to set an account up for a number of weeks. You can never speak to anyone on the phone and messages are either not replied to or an email is sent. Eventually, after more than a month, I had an email to say that the card was issued but I am now 12 days in and still waiting for the delivery. Phoned again this morning and unsurprisingly it went straight to voice message. IF there was another card offering the same benefits for family members with Dementia I would be trying them because the whole Sibstar process has not been very satisfactory. What a shame.

For some reason my request for aid via email and telephone messages went to your spam box. Once sorted out - it took a week - I received a full and efficient response
Replacement card
My brother lost his card and needed a new one. The new card arrived quickly but it then took several days for Sibstar to activate it. Why can't I activate it on the app?
A very simple solution
A very simple, straightforward card that allows people with dementia to retain a level of independence.
Great customer support too.
Superb concept and an excellent service
We have had a Sibstar card for nearly three years. We applied for the card as a way to help my mother who has dementia and had been the subject of card fraud. This card has provided the peace of mind we needed as a family and has enabled my mother to retain her independence for longer.
The app and card has worked flawlessly during that time and on the few occasions I have contacted support I have received a positive experience.
I will and do recommend Sibstar to others with similar situations.
Looking for a safe way to manage funds
Looking for a safe way to manage my mother in laws funds and to find a way to manage her losing cards, taking cash out etc etc .. found Sibstar from Google Search .. took a little time to set up initially due to delays in LPA registration and initial delay in loading card but believe that to be due to mother in jaws bank .. assistance and resolution from Sibstar Team William and Jasmin - good and positive .. now up and running, tested and handed to mother in law .. feel comfortable that her funds and payments can be better managed and are secure .
Safe option for an account
Joined Sibstar for a more safe way of managing my finances and they have not disappointed with that. Jasmin and William has been extremely helpful with any queries or issues I may have. Gave 4 stars because they are a growing company so patience is required as phone lines can be busy sometimes but they do respond in a timely manner once you leave a message or email. Would recommend because of the safety with the account they provide.
