“This company is a complete disgrace. Tried to charge me a £1,500 deposit on top of the £500 deposit and first month’s rental I’d already paid. Pure money grabbing.
I was promised I could switch to a cheaper car after the promo period, then they refused and left me paying £200 extra a month. Lies from the start.
The car had multiple issues and they couldn’t care less. Zero help, zero accountability.
Calling me at 8AM on CHRISTMAS morning demanding payment that wasn’t even late? That says everything about how unprofessional and aggressive they are.
They refused to reduce my price as a loyal customer, but the second I said I was leaving, they suddenly wanted to know my budget and offered discounts. So they COULD have helped—they just didn’t want to.
Returned the car on time and in perfect condition, yet they’re holding my deposit for a month and refusing to release it even though I need it for a dental emergency. Heartless and greedy.
This company only cares about squeezing money out of you. Customer service is appalling. Save yourself the stress and go anywhere else.”

It's a way to lock your money and keep sucking it out of your credit card... but charing me for staff with out a prior notice its unacceptable. I know a speed ticket and tolls needs to be played, but ... give a prior warning not just stick yiur in someone's pocket and take with 20% service charge??? Wtf
I can't express how frustrating it was when you arrive in a country and the company you payed is not there!! ! Eventually after turning yhe whole airport inside out ... abd asking everyone... it turns out that this is Actually Hertz... the most unreasonable one in the world!!!
Later, as I am responsible for the technical service of the car ... called like 5 times, to replace my car to service it ... where in a week time one guy came in 1h later, when I was already on a client meeting 50 miles away ... and after I kept calling again and again no one came.
And now I am driving with the engine manager light on ... and I warned them a my calls ard recorded if my car now breaks... its not on me!

Adil from the sales team was extremely helpful and made the whole process smooth and hassle-free. I enquired about the car in the morning via their WhatsApp support channel and received timely responses with clear information about the available options.
The promotional offers were excellent, and I was able to rent a car for a month at a very competitive price. I collected the car the same evening, and the documentation and checks were handled efficiently.
Since it was a last-minute collection, Adil even stayed back after office hours to assist me, which I really appreciated. Big thanks to Adil for his great support and professionalism.
A £500 deposit was taken at the start, which I understand will be refunded once the car is returned in the same condition.
Overall, a very positive experience. I would definitely recommend Selfdrive.

As an Airline Pilot travelling worldwide I use many car rental companies .However we had Great experience using Selfdrives uk division .I Dealt with Adil and we rented for around 5 months as we awaited our new car . Adil is a great ambassador for Selfdrive . the company offer great long term rentals and above all only charge a £500 deposit opposed to the other competitors whom charge up to £1500 . Selfdrive are genuinely a great company to deal with and no Dramas ! So get renting guys you won’t regret . Best regards Captain Khalid

(1 Star – Extremely Unprofessional & Refund Still Not Paid)
I had a very disappointing and unacceptable experience with Selfdrive.
On 22 January, I made a car rental booking via the Selfdrive application (Reservation No: AE661533). On the same day, I was officially informed that my refund was approved after the company failed to deliver the vehicle as promised.
Here is what happened:
• The vehicle delivery time was first confirmed as 4:00 PM, then changed to 3:00 PM upon our request
• We waited 1 full hour at the hotel entrance – no vehicle arrived
• Customer service then told us “11 more minutes”
• Total waiting time reached 1 hour and 20 minutes
• We were forced to cancel due to their failure
Because of this, the reservation was canceled and Selfdrive confirmed that the refund was approved on 22 January.
🚨 Today, weeks later, my money has STILL NOT been returned.
🚨 No refund. No clear explanation. No accountability.
This is not just poor service — this is unacceptable financial misconduct.
I have already informed the company that if this issue is not resolved immediately, I will proceed with official complaints to Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (Consumer Protection) and through the TAMM Abu Dhabi Government Services Portal.
I am now also sharing this experience publicly so other customers are aware.
If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

do not rent from this company. 3 hours before delivery they call and tell me the car will not arrive and i have to go to abu dhabi which is 2 hour drive for me when they got paid for delivery. then stopped anwering my calls or texts.
