Once I stopped paying for Seedbox.io they sold my email to a marketing list called "Top Growing Companies 2022" which emails you "investment opportunities" in Abu Dhabi. I don't think it's a coincidence that the invoices are addressed to a UAE company and suddenly I'm on a UAE investments marketing list.

After reading the privacy policy and abuse policy of Seedbox.io it is clear that this company has other motives. They have no problem sharing your personal information for marketing purposes, and are not registered in a jurisdiction that provides DMCA privacy.

Do not use. Find something registered in the Netherlands, would be my recommendation...

Great affordable service provided by seedbox.io. Simple to use shared seedbox at a great price with no faults. Perfect for those who just want a seedbox to login to and connect via FTP to, without any of the extras (SSH and apps, though these are available on some of the higher plans at competitive prices).

Not recommendable if you wanna use Scandinavian trackers. They are all blocked by them.

I have nothing but good things to say about seedbox.io. and if I ever decide to get into seedboxes again I will go with them.

Their service has been incredibly reliable over the past 7 or so months that I have used the service,
The one time there was an issue, customer support responded to me within a few hours and helped me out. Their prices are cheap, the network is quick, and I have never lost any data that was stored with them. They also are not limiting or too specific on how/what you do with the seedbox and have a very helpful "knowledge base" section that explained almost all of the questions I had while using them. I never received a single "warning" from them about anything related to usage of the seedbox.

Overall an excellent service that I highly recommend.

You won't find a better shared seedbox plan for the money!

Over the years I've used a dozen or more shared seedbox plans for under $20 a month, this service beats them all, no contest. The cheapest shared seedbox performs better than "premium" plans at twice the price from other hosts.

When I add torrents the files usually come up in the rtorrent dashboard immediatly with multiple seeds and peers, usually with a few already connected. Files download quickly and the ratios you set actually work correctly.

Support tickets are answered promptly and resolved quickly. My last budget seedbox host took days or weeks to answer support tickets, if they answered them at all

You can certainly get faster service with a deddicated seedbox or vps plan, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better budget friendly host ;)

This is my first ever seedbox and for £5 a month I had very little to lose by not giving it a try. I was sick of the emails from my ISP saying I had downloaded something naughty. I certainly could not risk my ISP shutting me down and having to switch to a more expensive company. I am writing this review on my first couple of days as I have ran some tests, you can get 12.mb download and 12.5mb upload although you do not achieve that all the time. I downloaded the same file to my seedbox and also using qbit torrent. The seedbox was slightly faster on a gig download, but when you take in the FTP time to download, then you are looking at slightly longer for a seedbox.

However, this now gives me peace of mind, if you so wish it can save on electricity as well, as you can add torrents to your seedbox, turn off the PC and go and do something else instead.

The only negative that I will give is that the company need to improve their knowledge base a bit more, a few videos like some of the bigger seedboxes does would be helpful. I am computer friendly, so I managed to work a lot of stuff out for myself, but for those that are not as computer friendly, then this might lead to support tickets, which takes time to answer.

I am now dropping this to a 3 star rating as experiencing some issues such as slow loading times of the seedbox, sometimes not even being able to log in. All seems to have gone slow.

When you are using the FTP to download it seems to cause issues with the seedbox if you try and add more while downloading, it stays at 0% this might be because overloading the server, just a small niggle and not enough to warrant dropping this down to a 3 star.

October 2017. This review is for the 5 Euro package. The response to my questions came instantly and everything works well and without a problem, the speeds are fine.
What I did not like: the connection was not secure. Firefox just showed psbxxxx.seedbox.io unsecure connection. I had to ask service, who responded quickly that I need to put https in front of psbxxxx.seedbox.io.
This happened after the first login via: https:panel seedbox.io / clientarea and clicking on the link at: Your Active Products/Services.
the link needs to be set on https and not http as it is now.

I did not find the tos and privacy policy on the main page, so before I joined I asked about what they log and this is the answer:
None at all, we log kernel data so we can see details of a crash (if that happens) other than that we log no details at all.
Kernel logs never contain IPs or similar, only process ids which cannot be linked to your user.

A couple days later I spotted the tos and privacy policy and I think I do not like this paragraph:
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. (that sounds not very secure to me) We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. ( Uh oh that sounds really bad, and opens doors for all kinds of abuse) However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. (don´t like this either.)

If not for these 2 things, I would rate the service and 5 Euro price for the beginner with 5 stars.
