I had an extremely frustrating…
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Scaleaway. After just one day, I completely lost access to my server and haven’t been able to use it since.
What makes it worse is the support — it’s been absolutely useless. I’ve been waiting for three days now without any meaningful help or solution. The service team barely responds to tickets, and when they do, it doesn’t lead anywhere.
Right now, I’m paying for a server I simply cannot use, with no resolution in sight. Very disappointing service.
They lock your domains
I had a very frustrating experience with this service. Their subscription system is poorly designed and fails to properly detect manual card payments, which creates unnecessary issues for customers who have already paid.
What makes it worse is how they handle it afterward — instead of resolving things smoothly, they lock your domains and services without warning. This can seriously disrupt business operations, especially if you rely on those services being active.
On top of that, the support and recovery process is extremely slow. It takes days to restore access, even when the payment has already been made. That kind of delay is unacceptable, particularly for something as critical as domain and service availability.
Overall, the system feels unreliable, and the lack of efficient support makes the situation even more frustrating. I would strongly recommend improvements to their billing detection and customer support responsiveness.
Stay away at all costs
Scaleway was a total waste of time and money. There were constant technical issues with my machine.
From the start, the web interface to partition disks doesn't work, so I had to redo that work every time.
A machine died within 24 hours of production usage, and there were no replacement machines available. I was only given a refund for the rest of the month that the machine died, and wasn't refunded the setup cost for a defective machine.
The network was flaky and often dropped packets under sub 1Gb/s load.
Stay away from Scaleway at all costs.

Overcharged me by almost $40 for a one time use. Stay far away
Don't waste your time
Don't waste your time. Their 'Trust & Safety' team is clearly just an automated bot. After 3 hours of being a user, my account was locked. I sent in my ID to prove I’m a real person, and Julien (or whatever AI is using that name) sent a canned response saying they won’t unlock it or even tell me why. Extremely shady practices. They’ll take your info and then shut the door in your face.
Super unprofessional
Super unprofessional, they block your account and ask for verification weeks later instead of showing it at the beginning

Scaleway Dedibox / Elements
totally disgusting service never recomend them
Excellent UX, top-notch services, reasonably priced, extremely satisfied
I've used Scaleway's mac-minis over three long extended periods (and continue to maintain my account, using it as and when needed):
1. Back in 2023 when my development macOS was outdated (for mobile development), and I needed a development machine urgently.
2. After that, my organisation (not my account) needed a macOS CI machine for a while (while setting up our GitHub and expo runners), and again, Scaleway came to the rescue, and
3. Recently, in 2025, when I had foolishly upgraded my macOS to 26, and reverting the OS was no easy task, and I had to urgently fix some production crashes (the toolchain was not working on Xcode 26), and i spun up a Sequioa mac-mini in less than 5 minutes, and got the production crashes fixed in no time.
Scaleway has been nothing short of a lifesaver for me:
* Beautiful, intuitive, and elegant website
* Easy to spin up instances in a jiffy
* No redtape: spin up an instance -> use it -> check your usage and live billing as you go
* When you're done, delete the instance - no muss, no fuss.
* Billing is also very reasonable in my humble opinion
* Top class support even as an individual: the support is prompt, professional, and most importantly, helpful!
I'm personally 100% satisfied with their excellent service! Highly recommended.

It was very easy to get a Mac Virtual Machine up and running and worked surprisingly seamlessly so great job there!
However, the next day I was kicked out of my account because they thought I was a bot even after doing ID verification and adding bank details. The in-app support wasn't responsive however after finding one of their employees on LinkedIn they solved my problem almost immediately! So really impressed!
Absurdly horrible, Kafkaesque experience
I opened an account with Scaleway, and started working on a web application there.
Scaleway sent me a mail saying:

Unfortunately, the mail went to my spam folder. Note that the deadline given was 48 hours. I had absolutely no idea that I would need to jump through any kinds of hoops to "get verified", no other hosting company has ever asked me anything like that. The console let me buy up a ton of services an pay for them, at no point was "verification" mentioned as a prerequisite.
28 hours later, in the middle of the night, I received another message saying that if I don't respond in one hour (!), my account will be closed. Is this a mafia or something?
Fortunately, I noticed the message, and replied immediately. I did also do all the verification steps, as silly as they were.
Still, 20 minutes (not an hour) later, my account was locked, and I could no longer access my work on which I had spent significant time and resources.
The banner on top of the site said: "Your account requires manual review by the Trust & Safety team. Create a support ticket for more information." So I opened a ticket, and got back a reply that "there is nothing they can do".
Worst IT-related experience of my life.
Disgusting company
Disgusting company, my account got locked out of nowhere with no further explanation. And still got billed for the rest of the month.
Payment/validation not suited for companies
For us as a company it's not possible to get verified in a professional manner. The only possible validation is a live video check for persons with a valid document. This is not at all suitable for companies. Unfortunately, without validation there is no SEPA at Scaleway. Good bye, Scaleway.
Customer since Dedibox
Customer since Dedibox, we had a machine running for 12 years without any major interruption and then on Sep. 19 2025, the machine suddenly became unreachable. The support made claims that electrical failure occurred and that the whole machine had blown up, including the disks and that nothing can be recovered.
This is obviously a lie and after checking on recent feedback we now realize that this has become a common practice at Scaleway for the past years. With very little empathy we were told that the machine is old and we should just pick up a newer machine.
Pathetic.
I have never had any problems with…
I have never had any problems with Scaleway. This has been the case for a long time. Although I only use Object Storage, the service is reliable. It works as it should. The data is simply there, and I have never encountered any problems retrieving it. And most importantly... Scaleway is not affiliated with the US.
On going server that I've been paying for years suddenly went "our of stock"
So I've been paying for their server and one day I just needed to reinstall my OS but I was not able to do that. I contacted support and they send me a message that server all of the sudden is "out of stock" but I have paid for it and never stopped paying. Then they told me to order another server which is crazy. I simply cannot understand how the server that you paid for and never stopped paying goes "out of stock".
Support do not exist
I have an issue with their service, which they deactivated without notifying me, and the support team hasn’t responded for several months.
Failures of servers and lost data
I've been a loyal client of Scaleway for 10+ years at the times when they were Online.net. And they were good. But since they became Scaleway year by year they get worse and worse. I'm administrator of several dediboxes (dedicated servers) for my clients. I've seen lots of unprofessional things: one of my servers stopped working because their IT guy accidentally powered off our server thinking it was the one that was requested for technical maintenance. We had an issue when the payment was not accepted for the first time, then we fixed the payment method and asked the support to confirm that. They confirmed everything is OK and the payment was made. But then they deleted our server and all backups (at their additional FTP space) because "we didn't pay in time for the services". And after 2 months of communication they did not had courage to say that it was their mistake or that they provided a wrong consulting regarding the payment information. But all the communication we had were in written form in the ticketing system so it was easy for them to read and analyze our communication, But it seems they have zero quality service department. In the last 3 years I had 4 servers destroyed. They just break down without any prior warnings. We have Zabbix monitoring configured with temperature, S.M.A.R.T. and other stats, but that does not help to predict a servers' failure. And the support says that the servers are not repairable. So you have only option to buy a new dedibox and restore your backups if you made them. At the recent hardware failure the support told me that all starting lines of their servers have very old hardware that can break at any minute and they say to use a higher end servers. Surprisingly they never mention that when you put an order for the starting lines of their servers. They don't inform you that this is a very old hardware that has very high risks of failure, unrepairable, and the user should take the risks. No, they don't do that. They simply want your money and fool you around. Of course in all these situations the support was very unhelpful. Maximum what the offered is a refund for the active month for the server in question. They were super unhelpful and their style of communication sounds like "it's your problem, man, not ours, stop bothering us!". In the past I recommended this company, but now it's a total disaster. Never ever deal with it.
