Poor Comms and experience , Saudia Air have no customer service

I flew with them in March 2023 and following my booking there were multiple flight changes instigated by them.. some of the nonsensical including a change of destination!!!
Anyway , our outbound flight broke down on the runway and we were left seated on the plane , on the runway for 8 hours..
Finally flew the next day (thankfully with Qatar Air who were great)
Claimed a refund as I am entitled to through the CAA and finally received my refund/compensation 13 months later.. Comms with Saudia Air are poor and it was only because of the intervention of the CAA (PACT scheme ) I got my money back..

Need Improvement

Booking with Saudia Airlines started promisingly, with a smooth online process. However, downhill was an understatement from there. Two months post-booking, they unilaterally changed my return flight, messing up my paid seating arrangement. Customer service was a nightmare; their English proficiency was lacking, and my emailed complaints were met with silence. To add insult to injury, their e-ticket printing system is a mess, with crucial information cut off. As an IT professional, I highlighted this issue, but they failed to address it. Saudia Airlines is a no-go for the European market – they lack basic communication and customer service standards.

Unprofessionally careless company !

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with SAUDIA Airlines due to a series of ongoing issues that are preventing me from booking a multi-trip flight. For the past three days, I have been trying to book flights over the phone. Although the agents took all my details, they informed me that they are not allowed to accept card payments and instead provided a link for payment on my SAUDIA account.

Upon attempting to make the payment through the link provided on my SAUDIA account and app, I encountered an error message: "Link down timeout reversed (37578)". This error appears every time I try to make a payment from the UK. I reported this issue to the Technical Support Unit by submitting a form (Ticket number 809146). Although they initially replied, they closed the ticket with a generic recommendation to change the payment card and try different browsers, none of which resolved the issue.

To make matters worse, the customer care centres are unable to assist with this technical issue over the phone, the WhatsApp online chat service does not work, and the SAUDIA chatbot is unresponsive. I've attempted to raise my concerns on social media platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), but these efforts were met with a lack of response and unprofessional customer service.

This situation has caused significant inconvenience, as my reservation prices keep rising due to these technical issues. The lack of proper customer service and communication is deeply concerning, and my family and I are now feeling stuck without any viable solutions.

Reservation No-UJBSHT-Flight No- SV588-…

Reservation No-UJBSHT-Flight No- SV588- Jeddah-Dubai
24th April 2024.
I came for UMRA with my family and on our departure we faced tremendous difficulty at Jeddah Airport, we were first said to go to gate 27A and later it was changed to A45, by the time we reached to the gate it was 11:35am the person over-there was very cruel and rude, I was requesting him to allow as I am with my family and we were waiting at the gate earlier but he said no go to counter 25 and buy another ticket.
On counter 25 there was a lady named Ms Summaya she said you buy online ticket of any airline and we purchased FlyNas ticket and came but when we arrived at Dxb Airport we did not receive our baggage.

We are really disappointed as we spend extra 3,000 Dirhams buying FLYNAS ticket and our baggage did not arrive.

We were having kids and there was one more family with infant and the mother was pregnant and even they suffered a lot, ideally Saudia Airline should have adjusted us in the other flight but they forced us to buy another ticket.

We will never use Saudia Airline in future, the cruel person should be terminated he is so ugly hearted having no mercy on small children, pregnant woman and infant.

I suggest your management to train customer service skills from Emirates Airlines.

Rude staff and harassment by the supervisor of SV123 on 22/04/2024

My dad used this airline to travel from Jeddah to Manchester on 22nd April 2024 on flight number SV123. It was an extremely unpleasant experience. One of the crew members was extremely rude to my dad. I couldn't get his name but he was the supervisor of the crew. He wears glasses and have a french cut beard and his head is balding in middle and back. He was extremely rude and kept on harassing my father. My father is now thinking about pursuing harassment chages with the police.
Avoid this airline like a plague.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service I ever came across. Un professional un-trained rude cabin crew no skills to resolve the on flight disputes take everything personal instead of resolving the issues. Un fair treatment with the non arabic speakers. Even refuse to serve the food to customers those who raise their concerns. Don't recommend anyone to use this airline.

A stain on religious beliefs

Never got to experience their 'service' thankfully. Saudi 'Airlines' changed their schedule time leaving us an 11 hour layover. We then requested a cancellation , 7 months in advance, but were charged £60 for their inconvenience. A company lacking morals, kindness, justice and promises. One is just about controlling one's anger at these infidels.

Irresponsible airline

Contacted the airline a few times regarding cancelling the flight because of the murky flood situation right now in Dubai. The airline says the flights today all cancelled but as for tomorrow we don't know yet. We can only inform you before your flight, if you want to cancel now you need to pay for penalty. Really????????

Jeddah Airport ruined my parents umrah and eid experience

Very disturbed by the operation of staff from Jedco KSA/ Jeddah Airport

My parents were left TRAUMATISED after missing their flight with no staff to help because they were super rude and offered no help after. They completed umrah and wanted to get back home but the airport staff had other ideas, a disgrace of an airport.

Wasn’t just my parents, my mum witnessed an old lady breaking down because she couldn’t afford another plane ticket nor accommodation and begged for assistance KAIAirport you should feel ashamed of yourselves.

Luckily my uncle had a local friend in Jeddah and went to the airport to bridge communication gap, they were even rude with him!

My mother was spiralling yesterday while my father tried to put on a brave face, she was getting panic attacks near the staff because of how rude and disrespectful they were.

Thank you Jedco KSA for ruining my parents time in #SaudiArabia and ruining such a blessed #eid because of your staffs rudeness and incompetences. #jeddah #kingabdulazizinternational #kingabdulazizinternationalairport

It's a cool service

It's a cool service. I usually use it to book flights and I like it. The navigation is simple, I didn't spend a lot of time to understand how to book a flight, plus there is a captivating loyalty program.
Other than that there's a chance to get into lounge rooms which is also a big plus to the piggy bank of this airlines.
I don't fly often, but the fact that I choose this service for booking all those flights I have is indisputable. They just know how to deliver quality service.

Poor in comparison to other Arab airlines

We were flying from the UK to India with a stopover in Jeddah. We chose Saudia as they were flying from an airport local to us, with a short stopover, at a decent price.

On the way out it was ok food, service and entertainment wise; not as good as other airlines though. Refreshments wise there was a very limited choice, only tea, coffee, water or one of three juices. I know this is a dry airline, so I would have thought they would have made even more effort with their 'dry' range. And this was served during the meal rather than before and during. No snacks either. You did get a little toiletry pack on the first leg only which was in a cute bag.

On the return it was a different story. The plane used for the first leg didn't have any entertainment systems... for a 6 hour international flight? How antiquated is that? The food was poor in comparison to the outbound flights which were not exemplary in the first place. On the second leg, the entertainment made a reappearance but again the food was poor. No toiletry bag though.

The service by the crew was hit and miss; some were ok, some were rude; I could not say that any were very pleasant. I noticed that their attitude to people they perceived as Asian nationals was derogatory. Once they realised I was British, their attitude towards me changed somewhat. I did see one being rude to a man who didn't speak or understand English. Rather than get the crew member who did speak Hindi, he just kept saying the same thing in English in a progressively stern and louder tone.

Whilst I don't expect to be overly pampered during a long flight, a do expect to have comfort, decent food, refreshments and entertainment. Most importantly, I expect a friendly and respectful crew.

One other note for anyone thinking of flying with them. Because of the stopover in Jeddah, these flights were primarily used for pilgrimages. The secondary use, in my opinion, is for transporting labour to and from Asia. The traveller wanting to travel outside of a pilgrimage is catered for last by the airline.

If Saudia are looking to be comparable to the Arab big boy airlines, they have a long way to go! Maybe they should try one of these other airlines themselves to see the huge gap. I personally would not use them again, nor recommend them.

Awful website

Awful website. I tried to book a flight for over one hour and the webstie kept crashing. I tried to contact the CC; first through the virtual assistant but noone responded. Then I filled an online complaint form. They close the ticket instantly and sent me a link for their website. Never booking with them. Awful.

Changed my flights so many times and wasn't allowed to board my flight due to their error

I don't even know where to start. Booked a return flight to Seoul from Manchester roughly 9 months in advance. I received constant emails telling me my flights had changed to the point I had to add 3 extra days on to my trip to accommodate a 'lack of flights'. When I received another email stating my flight had changed again and I would have to add on another four days I called up and they swapped my return flight to a KLM flight leaving on my original date. I then received ANOTHER email saying my itinerary was changing and that I was now having to take an internal flight from Jeddah to Riyadh! I had also bid on an upgrade and wasn't sure if this was still going to apply or not.
When I arrived with my wife at Manchester Airport our upgrade bid had been accepted and when we tried to check in we were told we weren't allowed to board the flight as travelling internally through Saudi Arabia is not allowed, something they had booked for us! Thankfully we were put on a Qatar Airlines flight later in the afternoon but not only that, they told us we wouldn't be charged for our upgrade but we were and had to go through my credit card company to get the money back.
Please, as a seasoned flyer, don't book flights with Saudia. Yes, they do seem to undercut the competition in their pricing but honestly it is not worth it. Read the other reviews on here too and pay the extra £150 or so to travel with Qatar or Emirates or any other of the Middle Eastern Airlines.
Trying to contact them now regarding my complaint results in a 'booking not found' message.

Never book in Saudia airlines

Never book in Saudia airlines. they are a scam.
I had booked a stopover visa ticket. First they rescheduled my last leg and I accepted it. Then again they rescheduled the last leg and it was exceeding the stop over visa time(96 hours). So I called them and they handled it so unprofessionally and asked me to book one day earlier which is exactly 24 hours before the current flight time because they are saying there's no other flight available on that day though for new bookings I can see flights available. and I am now getting the stopover visa time not even 70 hours. They charged for the visa. they charged for everything and when I asked them to reschedule all the legs so that I can adjust one day earlier or one day later, they say they can only arrange the "FREE" reschedule only for the affected flight, as if the flight was affected by me and they are doing charity saying FREE schedule change though it's done by them. Ridiculously unprofessional behavior. They are simply a scam.

During my 34 years of travel

During my 34 years of travel, this has been the worst airline experience I’ve encountered. My journey included a flight from London to Bangladesh, with a layover in Jeddah, and the return flight had a layover in Riyadh. It seemed as though they attempted to offer what they considered good service on the leg from the UK to Jeddah. However, once we switched planes in Jeddah for the segment to Bangladesh, the quality drastically dropped, akin to traveling on a dilapidated bus. The service was abysmal, and the food was appalling, reminiscent of what one might expect in a prison—imagine being served couscous and mashed potatoes after paying for a flight. On the return leg, our flight from Riyadh to London was delayed by six hours, and we received no explanation or apology, exacerbating an already frustrating experience. I also observed that the level of customer service appeared to be influenced by passenger ethnicity, mirroring the country’s leader’s efforts to curry favor with America. I’ve decided never to use this airline again.

Promises that never materialise

I booked a flight with this airline as they promised a complimentary night in a hotel and free transit visa - I have a 15 hour stopover. The visa process is so complicated that it is not worth going through, no visa issued, it is still pending. Called their call centre today and been told that the free hotel stay has been scrapped due to Ramadan. I should have flown with Qatar Airwas and they even had better price. Never, ever again with Saudia.
