Wonderful doctor!

Sancy Low's expertise, gentleness, and attention to detail is top notch. I trusted her entirely and am delighted with the results of my Presbyond laser surgery.

Dr Low operated on bilateral cataracts with amazing results. I had very poor vision before - particularly depth perception which resulted in my falling down a flight of stairs just prior to the operation. I can now see clearly and am more confident about going out.
Dr Low has an excellent manner and great skills at explaining the complex eye drops needed after the op.
I am lucky to have her as my surgeon.

I am 75 years old, so an internet review does not come naturally, or easily, but this one I have to do.
Since birth, I have had a congenital eye condition, affecting the retina and optic nerve.
Since age 14 I have been registered blind, and have been using Braille. I have never been able to use print.
My very limited sight did afford me some guiding vision, although this is very hard to quantify.
A few years ago I developed cataracts.
Over time the cataracts caused me horrible problems, I was seeing white intensive light.
The least amount of glare was painful, and I was losing all sense of direction, even within my own apartment.
It was difficult to explain why somebody like me, who on paper doesn’t have any vision, could now complain that it was worse!
Low Vision is odd and still not really understood.
I had brought it up over the years with physicians but to no avail.
Then I had the great good fortune to be referred to Dr. Sancy Low's clinic at St. Thomas’Hospital.
I was stunned when Ms Low got it from the moment we met. She and her team took the discomfort seriously, understood my unconscious reliance on vision I didn’t realise I had until it was gone. It was distressing, just to have it understood was wonderful in itself.
The surgery performed: double cataract surgery, has been amazing.
Now the discomfort is entirely gone and each day I am adjusting to my new vision, largely guiding vision but wondrous.The relief in not feeling as if flashbulbs were going off in my head with the least exposure to light and not having to wear a bicycle helmet indoors to prevent brain injury is as much a relief to my wife as it is to me. She has even taken 999 off the speed dial!
I have to congratulate Joshua Harvey who is a remarkable communicator for preparing a 75 year old with such clarity and all this before dawn! I'm sorry to say I cannot remember the name of the anaesthetist but I would like to congratulate her on giving me my first anaesthetic without any side effect.Usually I am found re-enacting scenes from the Exorcist!
The respect and courtesy I have received from both Sancey Low’s clinical staff and Professor’ Hammond's operating team, isn’t something which can be taught at medical school it emerges from a respectful and caring culture, of which these teams should be proud.
It was a pleasure to meet them, and not forgetting the life enhancing result.

Follow-up appointment after catarat surgery & as a glaucoma sufferer, managing this condition is so fundamentally important.
As usual, Dr. Low undertook her thorough care process, eye tests & listening to my issues of concern & ultimately prescribing more drops. Given the litany of drops & the frequency of prescribed use, it does get a little confusing but Dr. Low wrote everything down & that process is now being followed.
As per other reviews, I am very grateful to her for her continuing care and I am very lucky to have found her via Robbie Walker who did my cataracts & stent implants by Dr. Low.

I had tri-focal lenses eye surgery by Mrs Sancy Low about a year ago - it has been absolutely amazing to be able to function without glasses.
Rarely have I met a more wonderful surgeon.
She has the most reassuring and personable personality and she has such a delicate touch yet fast moving hands that you can relax completely under her expert care.
Both the care before, during and after surgery was amazing and so reassuring. I would recommend her strongly to anyone who needs eye surgery.

Absolutely life-changing for me!

From my initial consultation, my experience with Dr. Low has been fantastic. I had cataract removal and lens replacement surgery in both eyes, during the same operation, and the results are truly miraculous.

Before the surgery, my vision was poor even with glasses. I struggled to read and had difficulty with some daily tasks. Now, it's like I have brand new eyes.

Dr Low is not only incredibly skilled but also has a wonderful bedside manner. Dr Low and her team took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, answer all my questions, and ensure I felt completely comfortable and at ease. Dr Low's entire staff was professional, caring, and supportive throughout the entire process.

The surgery itself was quick and painless, and the recovery was much easier than I anticipated. I followed the post-operative instructions, and my vision improved dramatically each day.

I highly recommend Dr. Low to anyone considering cataract removal and/or lens replacement surgery. I am forever grateful for her expertise and care. This has been one of the best decisions I've ever made, and it has significantly improved my quality of life.

I was very happy with the surgery carried out by Dr Low on February 6th to insert a new cataract in my left eye.
I can thoroughly recommend this practice.

At the age of 81 and still with an active working life my experience with Dr Sancy Low followed a diagnosis from my local optician that I was suffering with cataracts and Glaucoma in both eyes and that I should no longer drive. With the NHS treatment cataract treatment alone was likely to be four months for one eay and as long again for the second eye, with no knowledge of what or when my glaucoma could be treated.

Through good friends, one of whom had two cataracts removed over the past 12 months very successfully, I went to meet Dr Robby Walker within three days who contacted Dr Sancy Low, and both agreed to perform their specialist operations on both eyes the following week 26th March 2025. That day I had both cataracts removed by Dr Robby Walker with special lenses fitted over each eye, one long distance and one computer screen distance, followed by Dr Sancy Low inserting titanium stints into each eye to help overcome the glaucoma. All this was carried out without pain or discomfort. Leaving the clinic that evening I had a plastic dome taped over, and protecting each eye. My son laughed and said all I needed was a couple of antennae coming out of my head to make me look like giant Ant…! –

There was no pain nor discomfort, the right eye was just a little hazy vision.

The next day, having kept to the prescribed drops every four hours, this kept everything comfortable, during this first day after the operation Dr Sancy Low personally phoned to say she had a vacant slot in her diary the following day, Friday 28th for a check-up at her surgery in Wimpole Street, London, which I accepted.

The appointment went amazing well, surprising for myself and I’m sure Dr Sancy Low, who showed her absolute delight in my rapid success. The usual tests were carried out, most of which are above my comprehension of understanding but then came the reading test with the question ‘how far could I read down the Test Card’. No longer wearing my varifocals, something I had done for over 40 years, I started on the 3rd paragraph from the bottom, then the 2nd before proving I was quite capable of reading the lowest paragraph, the smallest of the small without any optical glasses. My Glaucoma reading where 11 & 12, almost perfect for my age, whereas these had been 20 & 21+ previously.

How lucky have I been to meet Dr Robby Walke and Dr Sancy Low to take care of me and give me new vision, now more prescriptive glasses and just two weeks from my local optician had said I must not drive. My thanks reach out to them both and recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone else who needs the best of the best.

I was very happy with my experience with Dr. Low.
I have had problems previously trying to convey my problems and levels of discomford, but she is an extremely compassionate listener and very positive in trying to find solutions. I was given the full range of eye exams, with everything being explained as I went. I went away with a clear plan of action for the first time, and whilst I appreciate that this is the start of journey, I feel for the first time that things might get better for me. Not only was my consultancy with Dr. Low of an excellent standard, but her assistant and receptionists were extremely professional and friendly. Many thanks.

Absolutely excellent, I can’t recommend Dr Sancy Low enough. From the initial, very thorough consultation, through a subsequent consultation, the surgery and then two further consultations, I have always felt in safe hands. Dr Low is very knowledgeable but explains things in an understandable way. She has been very attentive (emailing over the weekend after my surgery and always responding to questions quickly) and is very caring. Having had glasses/contact lenses for 40 years, I can now see without either! I would recommend Dr Low to anyone who is considering lens replacement or cataract surgery. Dr Low’s PA Katheryn is extremely helpful and friendly too.

Sancy is extremely caring and thorough. She did one of my cataract surgeries and I have seen her very recently as I was concerned about deteriorating eye sight in case that needed urgent action. I can't recommend her enough.

From the first consultation through to surgery and aftercare I have been extremely well looked after.
Dr Low puts you completely at ease and reassures you to help calm any nerves.
Any questions I've had my emails are answered immediately even on evenings and weekends!
