I'm customer since almost one year and i had an road accident recently, wanted to use it for the first time and get refund but they denied my document said it was "vague". They don't understand that some hospital have different protocols and will do anything to not refund me. Very bad experience to be honest, i will look for others options.

Easy to use; help desk easy to email. Asked for help with canceling and the auto renew and got the help I needed without having to contact them multiple times

The whole process was very clear and easy and they offer flexible options for insurance at good prices. I haven’t seen any better offers in the market. 10 out of 10! Will definitely use their service again

Extremely disappointing!
There is a breakdown of communication with their online team and claims team. We were told one thing from the online team and then followed their instructions. By the time it came to make our claims we were denied. After giving all the information that was required. Have been dealing with my claim since around December. Submitted an appeal for our claim. Which was also denied and replied to their appeal and still haven't heard back from them and it has been about a month. We are getting responses back from different agents and it feels so inconsistent. It has been so stressful and time consuming trying to deal with their claims team.
It has been about 4 months now... so ridiculous...
Update: My last 3 claims have all been denied. They have been nothing but a headache. I've submitted all the required documents yet they keep finding reasons to deny. One reason after another...
A simple doctors visit because I was sick even got denied!!! Provided the medical certificate, invoice, receipt.. they even asked me for my boarding pass!! Unbelievable..
So frustrating as my wife and I have been with them about 3 years...

SafetyWing has truly been the best thing to ever happen to me. I can’t say enough good things about this insurance—best coverage, best support, and genuinely the best customer service I’ve ever experienced.
During some really stressful moments, they were there every step of the way, making everything feel manageable and supported. The process was smooth, clear, and efficient, which made a huge difference when it mattered most. It honestly felt like having a lifeline during difficult times.
If you’re looking for reliable, compassionate, and responsive insurance, SafetyWing is it. I’m incredibly grateful for their support and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Easy to use website (once I actually got to it). Many other non-SafetyWing sites if you don't enter website exactly.

I filed claim CLM60044299 after my flight QR777 was cancelled due to war-related events (US/Israel strikes on Iran starting February 28, 2026). I incurred $1,797.93 in accommodation costs for an unplanned 3-night stay at Bell Seaside Residence.
SafetyWing themselves sent me an email on March 3, 2026 titled “Evacuation coverage available for SafetyWing members”, explicitly stating that they may cover the cost of getting members to safety due to the ongoing global event. I relied directly on this official communication when arranging the unplanned overnight stay.
I provided every document they requested multiple times:
• Full itemized accommodation bill (my name, dates March 6–9, 2 adults, complete breakdown)
• Flight cancellation proof and new itinerary
• Complete travel itineraries
• Their own March 3, 2026 evacuation coverage email (attached in my submissions)
For nearly 2 months they kept asking for more information. Then they suddenly said the claim was approved. I waited another 2 weeks for the money. When I followed up, they claimed there was “an issue with the bank” and forced me to resend all banking details again — even though everything was already correctly submitted when filing the claim.
In the end they paid only $200 ($100 per day × 2 days under “Unplanned Overnight Stay”). Everything else (including the Evacuation from Local Unrest lines) was denied with $0 reimbursement, despite their own email promising evacuation coverage.
This company actively sent members an email encouraging them to use the evacuation benefit, then completely ignored it when processing the claim. Endless paperwork, long delays, tiny payouts, and excuses. This is not insurance — it’s a fiction that wastes your time and gives false hope.
I will never use SafetyWing again and strongly advise everyone to avoid them. Look for proper travel insurance with real trip interruption and evacuation coverage instead.

I’ve been a SafetyWing member for 6 months now and was already satisfied with the service and support. Recently I had a freak knee accident after physical fitness which required an MRI and physio sessions. I’m still recovering now. I’ve been very happy with the support provided by SafetyWing and the fact that when I explained my situation and provided evidence, they’ve reimbursed the financial expenses incurred. I also love that in an online world which is being overtaken by AI bots, I actually get to quite easily speak with real people. I’ll continue using SafetyWing and recommending them to others.
