I am writing this review at Bordeaux Airport having failed to get a bike box from Safebag. We were worried about exactly this happening so we wrote to Safebag to ask if we could reserve a box. No need, we were told. They always have bike boxes available. Well not today they didn't. If you are travelling by bike and relying on (un)Safebag to get your bike home - think again. It would help if we could directly contact the location by phone, but that didn't seem possible. They also shut 2 hours ahead of the advertised time. Made no difference to us, no bike boxes anyway. But if they did have bike boxes, not much use if they are shut. A real shame as we thought they were our route to lots of exciting bike travels across Europe.

They state that's their services open till 10pm but 9pm all the station was closed. More than that, every station point to walk to another one, so you can walk over the airport just to find it's was for nothing.

Basically those online check-in system isn't really helpful at all for non-locals. Anyways, he's cool guy, so please buy a pillow from him, just like I did!

Contacted the Athens airport for questions about my luggage they suggested I contact Safe-Bag about wrapping my bike. I got the premium offer with the bubble wrapping and was told this was worry-free and that I had protection giving me a leaflet with € limits for coverage. When I arrived in Geneva with my bike damaged I complied with the instructions given and contacted them immediately. Tried to connect several times by email and phone. Never got an email response and by phone they promised to call me back swiftly but never heard from them again. Wrote a formal complaint letter. No response. Since May 24, 2025 the company and their coverage are AWOL...
IN RESPONSE TO THE MESSAGE I GOT FROM SAFE BAG I SENT AN EMAIL TO ADDRESS LISTED BELOW IMMEDIATELY ON 05.06.2025 BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE. AM NOW TOLD THEY DID NOT RECEIVE MY MESSAGE SO I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO SEND THE EMAILS NOW - UNLESS THE MESSAGES ARE BLOCKED SOMEHOW.
SENT ONCE AGAIN AS REQUESTED ON 10 JUNE 2025 AT 17H41 - I UNDERSTANDABLY CANNOT PROVIDE ANY EMAIL ADDRESS HERE GIVEN THE RULES AND THAT THIS IS PUBLIC SPACE.
