Rybrook Volvo Bolton
Rybrook Volvo Bolton. my wife's 2014 XC60 required a new engine in 2023 had to wait 3 months which was a joke, was told by service reception to phone Volvo head office myself after 2 months because they were fed up of ringing them. 12 months later wanted to book it in for service to cover new engine warranty rang on Wednesday 23rd oct. to book a service told they were busy and they would call me back, no callback tried again Thursday told they were busy and would call me back, no surprise they never did. Not going to ring them again I'm too busy I'll find somewhere else won't be using them again for service or sales.
I bought volvo approved used car and…
I bought volvo approved used car and was said, it will services prior they will hand over to me and 2 more years will come with volvo service.
When i did a test drive i said, squeaky brake but the guy over there said it was not used for some time so it will be fine when you start driving....
It was advertised that i will have volvo assistance and road side cover as well. They didnt renew the volvo on-call subscription but he said, it will be done.
There was no service paper given to us. Just a stamp on the service book.
In the first year service,
They said , both break pads and disk replacement needed.
1 tyre was crushed as it was run flat prior and needs replacing it seems.
I have run only 7.5K miles and have to spent 1000 quid in my first service.
I will say that , dont believe this team as the sales person will promise all.

Miss leading regarding service history of the car promising extra work to be done to the car never delivers on it
Brilliant customer service
Brilliant customer service - I wanted to make sure I let everyone know about the great service I have had from Geoff at Rybrook Volvo in Warrington. He has been responsive and gone above and beyond to make sure I had my new car. not only did he deliver it to my house, he also sat and explained every feature on the car making sure I am comfortable and up to speed with all its gadgets. Thank you so much!

Used rybrook Chester to buy a Volvo V40. Very helpful up to the point of sale then a nightmare afterwards. They did not honour their pre sale promises and have still not done so despite many opportunities. Considering whether I have the energy for a formal complaint.
I'd avoid and take your business elsewhere

Excellent service from Alex Cosgrove at Volvo Cars Washington. He was professional, knowledgeable and kept in communication throughout.
Poor Service
Won’t go into to much detail but I will say if anyone on motability is looking to buy a car from here, don’t bother. They have no customer service skills towards anyone that requires a little extra help (eg someone with a disability). If you are happy to walk in and buy a car within 30 seconds then this is the place for you. Also don’t ask for a test drive because you’re not allowed one.
On a positive note we went to Volvo Bolton and the staff and atmosphere were exceptional. Highly recommended this place especially for people on the motability scheme. Big shout out to Paul and Chris for restoring my confidence in Volvo.
@WarringtonVolvo think the Geoff could do with a little bit of customer service / discrimination training. I many years in the customer service industry and would be more than happy to help with this. Look forward to hearing from you. Have a spectacular day Geoff.
Thanks
I want to put a formal complaint…
I want to put a formal complaint against BMW in Worcester. I was asked to have a test called the timing chain for my BMW SJ16 JFX, and I was told it would cost £600 for the diagnostic test. Although my car had recently, 2 days ago , undergone a diagnostic test with them costing £250, I agreed to proceed. When I called after a few days to collect my car, I was informed that all parts were open and needed to be reassembled, which would incur an additional cost of £600. I am frustrated by the fact that BMW charged me for services I never requested, and I feel like I have been continuously taken advantage of. It is disheartening to see a company prioritize profit over customer satisfaction.
I will never recommend BMW Rybrook Worcester BMW to any one

Negotiated a deal over the course of an hour. Was happy with their movement on price.
Placed a £500 deposit - The call goes on hold Manager in background talking to a nice chap from Stockport.
Sorry Sir the car has just gone...
There is no honour with this dealership. Clearly they had a better offer with less discount than I had negotiated.
It is a blessing in disguise to be screwed over BEFORE they take your money.
Just hope I get my £500 back.
Have to also say the other JLR dealerships I have made enquiries to have been way more professional with communication and emails.
The sales guy from Stockport was a decent guy it was the people in his ear that were the problem.
Shocked but again a blessing in disguise

I raised an issue on the finish of the wheels on are Volvo xc40 after 8 months of ownership, the car is just 3 years old but obviously the wheels had been refurbished, but the lacquer was peeling off. Rybrook preston agreed to pay 50% to have all four wheels done very happy with the service via the sales manager, also the service team who loaned us xc40 for the duration of the work very happy customer
This is about the branch at Worcester.
This is about the branch at Worcester.
We'd travelled from Manchester to Worcester to pick up a car we had reserved online. It was a three hour journey, so when we arrived we had expected we might be offered a brew. Not at all. We were, however, settled down at the sales man's desk with all the paperwork ready for signing, highlighted where my signature was required. The next issue was to pay for the car. We were invited to sign up to their internet service as the 4G signal was very slow. So far, we have not actually been invited to look at the car!! Eventually the payment was made and only then did we actually get into the car. The purpose was supposedly to show me the workings of the car bearing in mind we had a 3 hour journey to return home. I kept having to ask the sales man to slow down and show me what to do but he kept doing the process for me. Even the simple task of selecting the gears when he just moved the stick backwards and forwards but never mentioned the fact that a button on the side of the stick had to be pushed in for the gear to be selected! I have driven an automatic before but mine was a steering wheel gear change and didn't have a button at the side to be depressed!
The service we received was little better than a wasteland car sales business, The only difference were the bright lights, chrome and tiled floor. They couldn't wait to get the finance sorted and wanted us out as quickly as possible so he could do the next handover. He drove the car out of the showroom into the carpark and left it, engine running, ready for us to get in and go. We still hadn't been offered a hot drink and had to proceed on our 3 hour journey home. Fortunately there a McDonald's just down the road!! We won't be returning and perhaps should have looked at the other reviews before we bought the car!!
No interest in a Sale if you pay cash?
We own a Discovery Sport and are looking to purchase a Defender diesel 110, having purchased our last six Land Rovers from Stoke we called in to ask for a test drive.
Sales rep said none in at the moment will put you in my diary and get back to you, after three months spoke to JLR at Burghley horse trials who contacted Stoke to arrange a test drive. This was arranged when our car had its service. We were given a V8 130 to try telling us no 110 on fleet, we went home then back to collect our car no test drive needed wrong car. Sales then said they would get one in the following week and phone us, Still waiting.
Giving it some thought we did mention no HP no PCP just a cash sale. No commission on cash sales means no interest in a sale.
Avoid, Shady Practices
This is specifically against an experience at Rybrook Worcester.
TLDR, avoid this dealership like the plague if your require any type of after sales support. Liars, terrible service, delay tactics and shady practices / scams.
We recently had a mechanical fault on our mini after work was carried out by Rybrook to fix a warranty concern.
As soon as we noticed a problem, smoke from the exhaust, we took the car to the nearest independent garage, they advised of the problem and we raised our concerns then directly with Rybrook Worcester as the component shouldn't have failed so prematurely.
After a long debate with them, they request that they would likely do this under "good will" as it was agreed this type of failure shouldn't have occured, but they had to see the car prior to raising any concerns with BMW.
As part of the initial agreement the sales rep said that if the failure was down to the component then the inspection would be done free of charge, if it was something else then we would have to pay for any works conducted including the inspection.
As we had already had the problem diagnosed, we believed it would be worth while at least attempting to get some kind of "good will" from the dealership given that the remedial work was in excess of 5k quoted. So we paid for the car to be transported 40miles to the dealership.
However this is where the problems started.
1) On arrival the dealer then proceeded to complete a series of checks that were in no way related to the fault, accumulating a total of 4hours worth of labour for what should have been a simple 20min diagnostic and inspection.
We have now been billed for this and have been forced to pay as they refused to release the vehicle regardless of the free of charge agreement.
2) They, in our opinion, made no efforts to accurately inform MINI UK of the situation, leading to the rejection of our claim, again even after the dealership had mate statements that they would "likely" help.
I feel really misled as effectively I am £400 out of pocket through transport fees and broken agreements when it turns out that the dealership had zero intention of supporting and basically wanted to make a quick buck overcharging for unnecessary inspections.
3)The whole process has taken the best part of two months, mainly because the service rep refused to take our calls and would deliberately email us at the end of the day so we would have to wait an evening to get back in contact.
Genuinely this has to be one of the most disappointing experiences I've had with a dealer. It has genuinely put me off the BMW / Mini brand totally and after having 5 minis in the family over the last 15 years I think it's time to take my business elsewhere.
We would like to thank Thomas at…
We would like to thank Thomas at Rybrook Worcester for dealing with the repair query on our Mini Countryman he was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Don’t book with Rybrook. Liars & scammers..
If I could give Rybrook Huddersfield 0 stars I would. Lies, incompetence, complete disregard for customer service, the list goes on. This should have been a straight forward service & to investigate why the stop/start hadn’t worked since Rybrooks previous work 1yr prior. The previous work was non-starter electrical fault. The car was stripped apart to inspect wiring throughout, both fuse boxes replaced at great expense. Eventually the car started after replacing the 2nd fuse box & fully reprogramming the car. That was a bad enough experience for many reasons. However ever since Rybrooks work 1yr ago the stop/start hadn’t worked despite new batteries. Given the 2yr warranty it was only right they resolved the issue. Booked weeks in advance to ensure a courtesy car was available, stressed that it was essential as my car is used for work. Night before the service received a voicemail stating a courtesy car was no longer available due to other work overrunning however they will see me tomorrow. Well, not without a courtesy car you won’t. Emailed them the next morning saying it wasn’t good enough & unless a courtesy car was provided there is no possible way I could attend. Received an email & voicemail from the service manager Michelle apologising admitting that my “email doesn’t make good reading” also saying a courtesy car will now be available in the afternoon. Michelle asked me to give Rybrook another chance & bring my car in the afternoon instead. “We will look after you with the price” she said. When I collected the car, not only did they not “look after” me with the price, they told me they didn’t have time to properly diagnose the stop/start issue. I was given a rough guess that the issue may be brake pedal position related but they insisted it was nothing to do with their work 1yr prior. By now I’d had enough, I just wanted rid of the car to the buyer lined up. Paid the bill & left. 5mins into my journey loud knocking noises appeared from the front of the car. I’d had a brake fluid & oil change, plus timing belt done. Too late to do anything about it plus weekend I contacted them few days later. Explained I wasn’t happy at all & they need to take the car back to investigate the noise & provide a courtesy car again. Not only that, fix the stop/start issue as they were meant to. By this point the buyer was no longer happy to wait & I lost the sale. Couple days later I received a call to say they believed the problem was both front suspensions & engine mounts, therefore nothing to do with their service. Quoting over £2500 to fix the noise. Perhaps Rybrook forgot the video they take after the service, & at each corner the service technician states “suspension fine”. So Rybrook basically said that from picking the car up, to driving 5mins down the motorway, that both suspensions have gone? As well as the engine mounts? Complete lies & a clear attempt to deflect from their own substandard work & to try extract yet more money. I’d only had the MOT done 2wks prior as well. Not only that, but they claim to have spent more time trying to diagnose the stop/start issue & concluded that “after checking the notes from the previous work, it wouldn’t be possible for that work to cause the fault”. Apparently job notes tell you whether someone slightly damaged a wire or knocked something. Keep in mind they stripped the whole car & dash apart then reprogrammed it. Despite still being inside the warranty period, Rybrook stated that because I hadn’t approached them earlier about the fault (the stop/start feature isn’t something I like, I wanted it resolved for the sale only) they were unprepared to work on it further & wanted me to approve diagnostic work at over £120 per hour. No chance, it worked prior. How many customers have they scammed like this? I know of 2 other people who have used Rybrook, both of whom don’t have a good word to say about them. Needless to say I told them under no circumstances would I be willing to give them any more money & I would be collecting the car the next morning. Finally got my keys & then got accused of scratching the courtesy car. The same car I was given where no walk off was done, no checks, nothing. I even had to sign acceptance prior to seeing the courtesy car. I took the car to an independent garage a few days after collecting it to do a full inspection on the vehicle. £150 later I received a report saying there was absolutely nothing wrong with the suspensions or engine mounts. This is evidence that Rybrook completely lied. The garage re-did the brake fluid which was done by Rybrook, clunking noise gone. I spent nearly £1000 on the service & inspecting Rybrooks work. The amount of time and stress Rybrook caused me is just ridiculous. I urge anyone thinking of using Rybrook Huddersfield to save yourself a lot of time, money & problems. Go elsewhere.
Excellent staff. …
The servicing staff at Rybrook Chester are fabulous, caring and professional. Alan, Rob and Clare go that extra mile and I always feel very well looked after by all 3. The mechanics always do a wonderful job looking after my car. Amy on reception is a joy. Recently Chris has collected my car on two occasions, he's an absolute credit to Rybrook chester, he's always professional, polite and helpful.
XC40 Car Service
It has been a while since we have personally visited Rybrook Chester. The refurb and focus on sustainability was clear to see, with excellent customer service, fabulous coffee and courteous staff.
I would like to highlight Amy Webster and Becky Appleton who greet you on arrival. They were very welcoming, informative and professional.
Claire Oliver who looked after the servicing of my car knew who I was on arrival and kept me informed of the progress of my car's service with a video of the work carried out sent during the day.
When I went back to collect the car it was cleaned, immaculate and Claire had also applied an additional customer discount that was unexpected, but welcomed. Henry Whale should be proud of the work the team put in to represent your brand. A very different experience to before the changes took place.
Well done to the Rybrook Team at Volvo Chester.
My third purchase from Rybrook Chester
My third purchase from Rybrook Chester, Phil Hootons excellent service made it a very enjoyable experience. Nothing was too much trouble and he provided several cars for comparison bringing one from Warrington and another from Bolton. No pressure and all my questions were answered openly and honestly. On delivery there were a couple of minor issues which Phil dealt with/is dealing with quickly and efficiently.
Cannot fault the service and all the staff there are friendly and professional. Great surroundings free drinks and comfortable seating areas.
Avoid if you can...
Rybrook Volvo - Chester
Terrible aftersales, tried to sort this out with the dealer after a few phone calls and emails, got fobbed off by the "Customer services complaints" guy.
Happy to take money when selling the car, don't really want to know after that.... Reading the other reviews seems it's a trend.
