I ordered the large pest off feeder that holds seed and will use that after October after reading rspb guidelines re bird feeding. Meanwhile I bought the small pest off feeder to hold mealworm and it’s great! No more crows and magpies!! The wee songbirds are happy
AVOID! DO NOT HONOUR GUARANTEE
Well, where to start.. i purchased a £39.99 squirrel proof feeder from this company. Didnt arrive as promised, after applying for a chargeback i received an e.mail saying it had been dispatched that day.
It arrived, and we followed the instructions to the letter, fitting the feeder to a thin bracket at the length stated to prevent squirrels grabbing from the upright post.
For ten days they tried to get on it, and suceeded by jumping and bearhugging the feeder upside down, and then they proceeded over the next week or so trash the feeder top and bottom until they had damaged it beyond use.
I was going to bin it, but thought as the company offered 30 day guarantee i should contact them for a refund.
I e.mailed explaning what had happened, and proceeded to send multiple photos showing the damage to all the components.
I was then requested to send a photo of the bracket, which i did, with a tape measure showing it was actually longer than the stated length, so no way could the squirrels grab it from the post. And is was tied on to the bracket loosely with a tie wrap, to avoid it being in a fixed position to make it hard to stabilise and be grabbed by squirrels
I was then told the bracket was at fault as it was too thick, i responded in fact if the bracket was any thinner it would snap, and at this point it became clear that an excuse to blame me for the unfit for purpose item was being sought by the company .
i stated i required a refund under the 30 day usage guarantee, as i certainly didnt have the item in use for 30 days before the squirrels trashed it.
i got no response to my request, but they came back with a request for me to clean it and return it as they could reuse it??
im sure their company policy states no returns as they cant reuse them, and as the photos proved it was beyond use due to chewing damage.
i can only assume they plan to let me faff about cleaning and returning it, so yet another excuse not to honour their guarantee can be found, wrong washing up liquid used, didnt arrive packed correctly, whatever..
looking through the reviews, its seems this company is ok until you have an issue, then they literally find every excuse not to refund or replace items.
if as they state they sell millions of products to happy customers, why such an issue to refund the unhappy customers with defective items?
i will be taking this further to obtain my money back.
Roam wild, you need to up your game with customer service!!

Brilliant birdfeeder
Received in good time, well packaged and a great product.
If you only want to feed small garden birds- buy these feeders
Seeing the adverts for a bird feeder which can only be accessed by small birds seemed too good to be true. We are next to wooded wasteland and are inundated with wood pigeons, magpies and starlings so feed is immediately gobbled up with little left for the small birds and feeders have to be refilled daily.
The specially weighted feeder perches work brilliantly -so having found the seed feeder to work well we bought the one designed for nuts and worms. The starlings ( obviously clever and innovative) managed to thwart this by doing a trampoline effect on the perch grabbing food when the feed became accessible as they jumped up taking their weight off the perch. Because the worms were quickly being consumed by the starlings we bought the guard to go round the bottom of the feeder and this has solved the problem. The Perspex hoppers hold plenty of seed etc and keep it dry so there is no need to refill daily.
The initial price compared to commonly seen feeders may seem high but the money saved by not having to feed hordes of starlings and the convenience of less frequent feeding plus the sturdiness and excellent construction of the feeders make them good value for money.

After the squirrels
After the squirrels
Trashed the the plastic around the eating compartment of bother feeders, I saw these units & thought I would try one first. I was so pleased that it kept the squirrels off the feeder, I ordered another one.
I'm also pleased to say the little birds can eat in peace & safety.
