Just finished the sea to safari tour in South Africa, what an experience!
I haven’t stopped grinning from ear to ear.
The hotels were brilliant, lodges, tents all exceptional. Food was outstanding.
Now the really important bit, the riding was truly epic. Sweeping tarmac roads through beautiful canyons and over high passes, off road gravel roads going through unbelievable scenery, all guided by the best guide ever, Henk.
The office staff were brilliant too, as were the support crew.
I can’t wait to book my next trip and can’t recommend highly enough.

I've had 02 completely different with ride Expeditions, one in Cambodia (enduro) and the other one recently en South Africa with adventure bikes, both went very far away from my expectations (in a extremely good way) just amazing and I cant wait to do another adventure with this guys

I've just completed my third trip with Ride Expeditions, so obviously, I'm a big fan. The trips are very well organised, with great bikes and great itineraries. On a practical note; I've always felt safe in their planning and knowledge that they back-up plans, vehicles, bikes etc.

One thing I really like is the way you get under the skin of the people and the culture in a really natural manner.

Our trip was the Colombian Trailblazer and wow, it did not disappoint. The RE team are fantastic, as are their local guides. The views, the food, the people - all incredible. And if you've got any concerns about safety, there's no need to worry. Our group didn't feel unsafe once, whether in the big cities or the small, country towns and villages. This won't be the last trip we take with RE and if you're on the fence, just get it booked - you won't regret it!

Going to Colombia with Ride expeditions was an incredible experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.

The initial booking process was quite simple and easy to follow. Deciding which trip to go on was the hardest part! After making a decision and contacting them via email Anna did an excellent job of walking me through what was required for the trip and what documents I would need to provide them.

Next thing I knew I was on a plane to Colombia meeting up with Toby and the rest of the group in the beautiful city of Bogota. Each day that followed was an awesome and unique experience that felt like it just couldn't be topped. The accommodations were 5-star, the tour guides were friendly, and most importantly the riding was legit.

My main concern going into this trip was that the riding would be watered down for insurance purposes and to keep all the riders together. However, the "point man system" kept everyone together at a range of different paces and we were allowed to ride as fast or slow as needed.

The scenery and variety of different riding conditions was simply breathtaking. From vegetated single track to rocky descents created by rockslides there was always an interesting challenge. The Scenery in the Andes mountains was simply epic and constant.

Having a support vehicle to carry luggage (and sometimes out of service bikes) from destination to destination made the riding more enjoyable as only a small backpack with water and essentials was required rather than a giant suitcase on the back of the bike.

The dedicated mechanic Miro was a huge help too. He made sure that any mechanical issues were quickly dealt with and that the ride kept going forward no matter what unknown conditions popped up. This was invaluable and a price simply can't be placed on the value this brought to the trip.

I could go on and on about how well organized and inspiring this trip was but I don't have time to ramble on forever. My advice is to simply book that trip if you have the time and resources!!! It is a truly once in a lifetime opportunity.

Just returned from my first trip with Ride expeditions and it certainly won’t be my last.

We’d originally booked on the ‘Ho Chi Minh trail’ trip but after last minute COVID complications, Laos was no longer an option for us and our long awaited trip was looking doomed.
Fortunately, This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as Toby and Anna of Ride expeditions quickly suggested that the ‘Colombian Trailblazer’ tour would be a suitable replacement and would we be interested in swapping across. After a brief discussion between our group and more than a few “Colombia!!!! really” “is it safe” type comments we decided to go for it and wow what an adventure.

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel quite extensively throughout the world and Colombia is right up there with the best country I’ve ever had the privilege of visiting.
The people are incredibly friendly and welcoming and at no point was there even a hint of malice towards us. We chatted, played games, ate amazing traditional foods and drank beer with the locals daily and it was a truly humbling experience. Safety was absolutely no concern what so ever.

Now, onto the riding 🏍 😁

The trails were truly sensational, fast and flowing with just enough technical terrain to suit the most enthusiastic of rider and around every corner you are gifted with the most awe inspiring, breathtaking scenery, You’ve ever seen.

Toby and his team mixed this high octane adventure with just the right amount of luxurious safety netting to ensure we all got back each night to the sumptuous accommodations in one piece smiling from ear to ear, bursting for more.

Our local guides Herman and Tuto were superb. Super knowledgeable about the local areas always keeping us informed about the local cultures and traditions while their expert riding was if desired fast paced and flowing enough to keep the adrenaline pumping. The local Colombian mechanic “Miro the Hero” worked tirelessly ensuring everyone’s bike was kept in fine condition and even offered me advice on suspension set up and dialled the bike in a treat.

I honestly couldn’t recommend this trip enough. Colombia genuinely is breathtaking and perfectly safe.

Get yourself booked on with the guys at Ride expeditions, they’ve got this trip absolutely spot on.

The communication with the people of Ride expeditions in these troubled times is excellent. I sadly had to cancel my Namibia raid because of flight cancelling from Europe. I got an immediate refund. So I can only recommend this organisation and hope to make a new reservation as soon as possible. If you make a deposit, your money is safe, no matter what. Keep the spirit up !

Sadly we elected to cancel our Himalayan Heights ride because of the likely effect of Coronavirus in India.

Our disappointment was eased greatly as Ride Expeditions were terrific about the whole process - great options/updates from Anna and, apart from a small admin charge (from the money holders, not Ride Expeditions) we got our deposits back.

We have alternative plans next year (supporting the British Lions tour) so cannot go then.

This is on our bucket list so I fully expect us to re-book for 2022.

I booked the Himalayan hights tour for August 2020. Unfortunately because of the pandemic going on and restrictions in air traffic from Oslo to India! I decided to cancel, and maybe take the trip at another time.

Point is that I have only great things to say about Ride expeditions, they transferred all my deposit back, and it was all in my account within less than a week from my cancellation:) thank you again guys !!!

The good customer service makes it easy for me to choose Ride Expeditions As soon as next year!!!

Although we were unable to do the tour due to the pandemic, Toby and Anna were brilliant. And I can't stress that enough. We booked up for the Himalayan Heights tour a year ago, paying the deposit for both myself and my wife, and the process was well informed and effortless. When the pandemic took hold, it was Anna that got in touch with us informing us of our options and stated that if we wished we could hopefully still join them this year, postpone till next, or if we wished, get our full deposits back.
Due to other commitments next year we took the option of getting our deposit back. No quibbles, no hassle, money returned that same week. I can only wish Anna and Toby all the best in the future, and hope sometime soon we can join them on one of their tours. They are 110% solid and trustworthy.

Motorbike Touring in Colombia
I was looking for something a bit different for a riding holiday this year, so when the information on the Colombian Trailblazer popped up on Facebook, I knew this would be the one. We travelled over to Bogota in October and from the moment we left the airport the service from Ride Expeditions was faultless. Great bikes, epic trails and seamless organisation from Toby and the team – it was everything I hoped for and more. Forget the rest – give Ride Expeditions a call!

I’ve never been to South America before, so booking a trail riding trip to Colombia with Ride Expeditions was a huge leap of faith but one I don’t regret for one second! This country is just so beautiful and the people so happy to see travellers – even if they do arrive on dirt bikes covered in mud! The riding was excellent with varied and sometimes challenging routes through the country, and we stayed at a wide selection of hotels, guest houses and resorts. Top notch adventure from start to finish.

We’ve ridden once before with Ride Expeditions on a fantastic trip to Cambodia a couple of years ago so when we saw the Colombia tour we were straight on the emails to Anna and Toby to get it booked, and we were so pleased we did – Colombia is simply beautiful and the trails that the team have selected were more than we could ever have expected. As with the Cambodia tour – there’s a great variety of accommodation from hotels to farm haciendas and it’s a fantastic way to experience a new country. Our Group was quite mixed in experience as far as serious off-road biking is concerned. Toby and the team were brilliant in making sure everyone got the kind of riding they were looking for. From low speed single lane tracks through the jungle (at points there weren’t even tracks…) through to really quite high speed and exhilarating mountain passes whatever your ability, riding style or the kind of terrain you are looking for Toby and the team will give you the trip of a lifetime. I can’t recommend Ride Expeditions highly enough. We have ridden with other tour operators but after we found Toby and Anna we now wont book with anyone else. At first glance Ride Expeditions might not appear to be the cheapest option but take my advice and book a trip, you will find that so much is included that the value for money for the trip you get is outstanding. So, we went with Ride Expeditions on their Colombian Trailblazer tour in October this year and it’s one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. The organisation is faultless, the trails incredible and the places we stayed were wonderful. We’ll be back!

What an amazing trip, and an amazing company! The planning and organisation for this trip could not be faulted, leaving us to thoroughly enjoy the trip, and with nothing to think about, apart from whether we do actually need a second helping!!
With Toby, Tom and the support crew in the field, and Anna's help 'back at the office', you are guaranteed to have all the help and advice you need for your adventure. So much information was provided before your trip to enable you to fully prepare, and if it wasn't - ask and you got it!
I would not hesitate to recommend the Himalayan Heights Tour, or Ride Expeditions for your next adventure.

July 2019 Himalayan Heights.....what a trip! I absolutely loved everything about this trip and the way that Ride Expeditions ran it....very professional, extremely generous and so knowledgable. Toby and Tom led this trip together with their team of riders, drivers and mechanics. I would thoroughly recommend Ride Expeditions to anyone willing to take the challenge and have the trip of a lifetime....now all we have to decide is which trip to do next!

Could not recommend Ride Expeditions more highly! I have now completed the South African Cape Crusader (Oct 18) and the Himalayan Heights (Jul 17).
Toby and Anna (owners) go to great lengths to make sure that their tours are amazing and unforgettable. The Cape Crusader tour we just completed visited some very unique and picturesque locations on the big BMW R1200 GS's avoiding all the boring dreaded highways and adventuring on some amazing roads (both sealed and unsealed).
Accommodation throughout the tour was varied in style but that's not to say it was bad, far from! From sleeping in hotels to 5 star tents to caves to guesthouses! All of this added to the adventure! Food on the tour was also amazing.
I should also add that myself and mates are looking at booking our next trip with Ride expeditions (again)!

I recently did the African Crusader ride with Toby and Anna. It was a fantastic experience and I loved the fact that every day was so different and obviously a lot of thought had gone into making this adventure ride unique, with out of the way and historic accommodation choices and even a night in a cave complete with a Leopard sighted in the hills to add a frisson of excitement to the evening! I would highly recommend Toby and Anna's Ride expeditions to anybody who is looking for a real adventure ride.
