Literal robbery

Literal robbery. Stealing royalties from actual creatives and claiming it as their own. Disgusting company and the only redeemable thing they can do at this point is shut down their operation.

Absolutely horrible ; more like Compost Network

Absolutely horrible. I was suckered in by the whole “fan powered royalty “ hype and signed up for SoundCloud Pro since the site said you had to have a pro membership to get your SoundCloud plays monetized (which isn’t true; had I scrolled down I would’ve noticed the chart that showed just getting a repost account would’ve afforded me the same benefit). In any case, I decided to try their distribution service too. At first no problem. Then I started having issues. I pitched a song for Spotify playlist consideration, only for it to stay in pending and never actually get submitted. I let it go but when I did bring it up months later I was told it had been merely a display error and it actually was submitted…which wasn’t actually true as I had a different song show up that week in Release Radar. I made the mistake of mentioning that in a review. Oops..now the problems really started! A new album got rejected for “having copyrighted material “ and had to remove it from YouTube monetization, only problem was…it was a compilation of songs I had already released through Repost and were already approved for monetization! I kept asking what song it was that had the offending content and they would not tell me. After going back and forth with them I ended up releasing it through another distributor…a month late.

Now is where it really gets craptastic. I decided to go ahead and release a solo project though them (as my plan with the other distributor only allowed two artist names). Well, guess what? I got flagged for having “copyrighted material “ again….except this time, I know it was a lie. Having rightly anticipated that it was going to be rejected regardless of what I did, I had actually submitted a nonsense song with my daughter playing random notes on the keyboard and me reciting random unrelated words offkey over it. I was told I needed to provide documentation showing I had the rights to distribute the material…something I literally made up as I went along. I asked how I was supposed to do that , short of inventing a time machine and recording a video of me recording the song. I also stated that they knew there was no copyrighted material present and this was retaliation for my previous complaints. Rather than deny it, or provide me with any direction as to what to do i was told to reach out if I had any further questions. So basically they rejected it for no reason and would basically just be taking my money without doing their job. Needless to say, I cancelled my membership.

TLDR version…they are liars and have horrible customer service .

reportnetwork.com

reportnetwork.com; they pay me about 50,000 stream is $10 and 30% for Tax Withholding, but I can compare with CD Baby about 600,000 streams they pay me $243, I think if 600,000 streams on reportnetwork.com if we calculate about this statistics they will pay me $120 for 600,000 streams on reportnetwork.com, they are very different (for about this I think 70/30, 70% of reportnetwork.com and 30 % are the copyright owner) how do you thinking

Repost Network STOLE $30k+ from me

I just had a song go viral on their platform, and people all over Youtube were using it. For 3 months my estimated revenue was over $30,000 and they froze my account indefinitely because "unmonetized youtube channels were using the songs" and claimed that I was trying to monetize them. They even froze my account 3 days before pay day...
I have nothing to do with these channels or the viral success of the song but Repost Network literally robbed me of a year's worth of pay. Worst part is that it's not like YouTube is keeping the money from Repost, Repost just decided to keep $30k of my revenue for themselves.
I'll be pressing charges but I'd recommend everyone stays far far away

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would. My name is lonelyrari you can search me up on spotify/instagram I have millions of streams on spotify alone but none of it due to credit to repost network.

As a matter of fact repost network, who is the distribution company of soundcloud, has blocked me from achieving my highest potential with these songs, making me have to void a ten thousand dollar single’s contract with a label. Keeping me under their old terms instead of the updated ones and taking a 30 percent cut instead of 20 percent and holding my music for 24 months instead of for a year. They hide the percentage cut very well in their contract and I have actually lost thousands of dollars because of this even though distributing a song requires no maintenance. Its as simple to them as pressing the upload button on instagram and sometimes not even that. (The ceo of distrokid confirms this you can look it like up)

Never split a percentage cut with a distribution company even if they offer free distribution this is just straight up theft and predatory on independent artists everywhere. If you don’t plan on making real money with your music to where 20$ a year from distro doesn’t hurt you then why are you making music ? And in the case scenario where your music does blow up (such as in my case) you will lose more money than what you could’ve saved with those 20$. So do yourself a favor and just straight up don’t work with these guys but to explain further keep reading. And if you already are I would recommend contacting them for a song takedown in which they will either agree or tell you that you can’t until your terms are over (depends on how successful you are as a artist)

Repost network provides the same service as tunecore and distro but will require you to contact them for any song takedowns. They enforce their contract with you whenever it fits them convenient, yes i said contract. They trick you into a formal contract in their terms and agreements in which they state to have rights over your music for a period of two years (one year on their updated terms that aparently doesn’t apply to older artists on their platform) that renew automatically if you don’t advise them to do otherwise within 60 days of the renewal date.

In my unique but disappointing experience The head of A&R Andy Goke at repost actually reached out to me for assistance on my matter and even agreed to take down my biggest song I have with them only to later change his mind when he found out it was being uploaded to distrokid. My lawyer advised me that a Jury could side in my favor but that process could take months or years and maybe even tens of thousands of dollars and it’s already been a headache as it is. The best I can do now is wait for my term to be over, lose a little bit more money and advise other artists about my experience

Don’t work with these guys man. They are horrible bro.

Assigned the album to wrong profile and never fixed it

Overall, very unprofessional and inefficient. It took a month to distribute my album. At the end, they distribute it on wrong profile on YouTube which belongs to a third person. I contacted them many times to fix that but they responded very lately and poorly. Nothing has solved yet and I contacted Youtube for copyright issues. Such a shame that they don’t do the work accurately and promptly. I wouldn’t choose them as a distributor again.

What I like about them is they…

What I like about them is they distribute to 3 Chinese streaming services. Not many places do that. China is a huge market. So that's nice. Everything is pretty straightforward, it's easy to set up and distribute. The only issue I have, is that it takes me forever to login for some reason. I don't know if it's my connection, but doesn't happen to other websites that much. If I go to repostnetwork.com it's fine, but then when I click login, it's might just take hours to load, and not get there at all. I don't know what's the issue exactly.
