Dear Affordable Appliances,
We profusely apologise for the experience that you had. We can assure you that this is not the level of Customer Service we expect from our staff here at Repairtech Services (UK) Ltd and following your review, this was addressed with the Call Handler involved. We had listened to the phone call and although we are not excusing Samantha’s tone, we confirm that Lisa from your office was abrupt too. We understand it can be very frustrating when parts are delayed beyond our control or you are not receiving instant updates however, procedures must be followed. We further confirm that following your telephone call, Samantha immediately contacted the Customer to update her on the situation with regards to an exchange of appliance. Your Customer was very understanding and we are pleased to hear that an exchange was authorised on 05.06.25. We appreciate your time in bringing this matter to our attention as your valuable feedback helps us to improve our processes and better service our Customers.

Do not use this service unless you have no other alternative

Unless you have no other alternative for your AGA do not use this service.
I was charged £240 upfront for a first visit which lasted 20 minutes and was given no credit towards the follow up work needed. Whilst the fault was correctly diagnosed I was charged just under £1200 for work which took one engineer max 4 hours. The parts were no more than £400. I have left 2 messages with management to call me to discuss the appalling service and no one has called.

Dear Ms Vickery,
We would like to advise that all costs were made perfectly clear to you throughout every stage of the repair process. The £240.00 payment made initially is designed to allow our engineer to thoroughly inspect the issue, fix without parts if possible, but principally to advise on any further parts or efforts required. Following their attendance, our engineer reported that the repair would be rather involved and required many different parts. The labour charge reflected time that would have to be spent on site with your AGA appliance. All was transparent and explained before the point of any payment, and the action taken by our engineer thereafter was in line with all that was explained, and nothing else untoward. We believe therefore that our repair work has been carried out in an acceptable manner, and in a fashion that has been explained properly to yourself at every point of contact. We are sorry that no messages were forthcoming when you queried your concerns with us following your repair. We endeavour to improve as best we can, and this feedback is very valuable to us. Please rest assured that this will be addressed with the involved parties within our team.

Wasted £250 on a service that my rangemaster cooker didn't need

My 3-year-old range master cooker, which had little use, developed a fault with the gas flow to the rings. I told the support desk that this was the fault, and they said that it needed a service and charged me £250. An engineer arrived a few days later and said that the cooker was like new and didn't need a service - the service pack included oven seals and door hinges. The ovens were not used on the cooker. The service engineer said that there was a problem with the valves in the hob and it didn't need a service, it needed a repair, which was not covered by the service. I have wasted £250 on a service I didn't need and now have to pay for a repair and replacement of the valves, which will be another £300. I have been ripped off as the customer service and RepairTechUK did not listen to the description of the fault.

Dear Mr May,
We were very sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with us as it is always our intention to provide great customer service. Upon listening to the telephone recording, you stated “the gas flow’s not good, flames not roaring and it probably needs a service”. Due to this, and the reported fault of the gas flow being temperamental, a quote was supplied for a Service as in most cases, issues with the Injectors can be resolved and the Service would offer better value for money than a Fixed Rate Repair. However, our Engineer informed us that despite the Injectors being cleaned out, the Gas Taps were actually required and these are an additional cost to the Service. Should we have quoted our Fixed Rate Repair option instead of a Service, the cost of any mechanical parts required to resolve the fault would have been included. As a resolution, we offered for the Engineer to return with the Gas Taps at no further cost to yourself. As per your acceptance of the offer on 04.06.25 and as advised, the said parts were placed on order directly with Rangemaster as one of the taps was now out of stock. This will be due shortly and once received will immediately be despatched to the Engineer who in turn will contact you to arrange the return visit.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and will endeavour to ensure that your appliance is repaired as quickly as possible.

Fast Service

The best thing I found when using Repairtech Services, was the speed and efficient parts delivery (next day). I ordered a replacement oven door seal, thankfully the part arrived the following day, just as well as it was the Easter weekend - an oven out of use on a bank holiday would have been a problem for us.

I inherited a fairly old and obsolete…

I inherited a fairly old and obsolete Rangemaster Classic 90 from a house I bought. The wok burner finally gave up the ghost. Rangemaster were helpful but had to pass me over to Repairtech for out of warranty and obsolete cookers. Kate Butler from Repairtech handled my case and arranged for an engineer, Charlie, to come to my house. Kate was excellent and managed my situation well, taking into account all my disabilities and health issues. It did take a while to arrange an engineer as both Rangemaster and Repairtech did not typically have engineers based in the southwest. Unfortunate but I didn't mind as the rest of the cooker seemed to work.

Charlie, the engineer, visited today and replaced my wok burner though it seemed like there may have been a few more complications than expected (just a guess on my part). He also checked the other hobs and both ovens and confirmed all was well with them too. Really wonderful service! Charlie also gave my guide dog a big fuss, which made her very happy!

Thanks again to Kate and Charlie for their help!

I woudn't have this company anywhere near my Rangemaster again

Three years ago we had an intermittent smell of gas from our Rangemaster range cooker. An engineer came out From Repairtech, organised by Rangemaster, a delightful man. He pulled out the cooker and tested connections behind and took off the hob and tested those connections. He could find nothing and left. I didn't blame him as the smell was intermittent. I had a service for the oven a couple of months ago as it was getting slower to heat up, and it was the same man. He replaced the door seal but I don't think he did anything else. He commented that the flames on the hob were looking a bit yellow and told me that if they went totally yellow I would need to buy a new cooker. And charged £250. I really wanted to get to the bottom of the smell of gas which had not gone away. I had read on the internet that it was probably the hose from the cooker to the gas supply. I did not want to have Repairtech back as I didn't think the engineer was that competant. I found an independent engineer who came this week. He pulled out the cooker and immediately noticed that the connection hose from the cooker to the gas supply was upside down. Something the Repairtech man had failed to notice. He replaced it. Everything else appeared to be OK but when he checked the hob, he found that it had not been screwed back properly and the burners were standing proud of the top. He thought this could be the cause of the yellowish flames. (I would not ever have noticed if the Repairtech man had not pointed it out) He tested throughly. He spent three hours making sure that the flames were definitely blue. He also tightened up the door to the cooker. So the Repairtec engineer had failed to spot the hose was upside down, should have known that the hose could have minute perforations and changed it. And he failed to tighten the door when doing the "service". And he had left the hob not having screwed it down properly 3 years ago. So I have paid Repairtec around £400 for a door seal and nothing else. It is now working fine, the tightening of the door has made the oven heat quicker and there is no smell of gas.

Concerning the reply from Repairtech. The smell of gas had been intermittent from the time of their first visit to the second. I had given up trying to track it down as there was no way to predict when it happened. I may or may not have mentioned it to the engineer on the second visit. It was on this second visit that the engineer pointed out the amount of yellow in the flame. He said " I am not going to condemn the cooker but watch out if the flames become all yellow" I had not noticed the yellow before. He pointed it out to me. i asked him what to do if they became all yellow. He said " Buy a new cooker" After his visit I kept an eye out. Sometimes there was yellow in the flame and sometimes not. About two months later the flames became yellow on one particular morning. At this stage I arranged for another engineer to come. When he came he changed some parts in the burners and since then the flames have been solidly blue. Not even a mix of yellow and blue as we had had. So I did not need a new cooker

Reply from Repairtech Services (UK)

Dear Ms Hill,

On 19th January 2022 a request was made to Repairtech Services (UK) Ltd to assign an Engineer to investigate a ‘potential gas leak’ from a Rangemaster Toledo 90. The Engineer duly attended, carried out a complete inspection of the product, found no evidence of a gas leak from the cooker and that it was working to specification.

Following this visit there was no further communication until 4th February 2025, at which point a call was received to arrange a Service to the same product. There was no mention of any gas leak or any other faults. We have fully investigated your claim and can confirm that during the Engineers visit the service parts were fitted, the appliance was tested to be fully operational, and no faults were identified. The Service Sheet was subsequently signed by yourself and submitted to Repairtech Services (UK) Ltd, along with pictures showing the ovens being tested at correct temperatures and all burners in use with a bright blue flame.

With reference to your comments regarding the gas leak and our aforementioned confirmation that no gas leak was reported in February 2025, we are not sure what is meant by the hose ‘being fitted upside down’ as this is not possible due to the type of bayonet fixing. This coupled with the fact that there was no report of any gas leak, it would suggest that in the intervening three-year period there had been no smell of gas as Repairtech were not asked to attend on a recall basis nor was there any instruction to investigate this on the Service visit.

We refute your comments in their entirety and stand by our Engineer’s report and the associated documents that we hold on file.

Excellent service

I had my 9-year old Rangemaster gas cooker serviced for the first time. Repairtech arranged a date for me within a few days of me contacting them. The service engineer was very thorough and helpful, which gave me confidence that my cooker will continue to work well for years to come.

Dear N.C.
We are disappointed to read the comments given in your review. We confirm the first part sent was incorrectly identified by ourselves, to which we sincerely apologise, and a full refund was issued. However, the second part sent was indeed correct for your Model and this has since been confirmed by AGA Rangemasters Technical Department. The reason as to why the part looks different on the website is that the Wok Stand shown in the marketing image had been discontinued quite a few years ago and has been superseded to a different version. We can only apologise that the part received does not look identical to the image, which is beyond our control. However, due to the age of your Falcon this is the only part now available and is suitable for use on your Appliance.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. Check the google reviews too. They failed to fix my induction hob after many tries. My main points of concern are the dishonesty and overpriced fees they charge.

They subcontract, they put a huge mark up. I’m led to believe they instruct engineers to leave the property, even if they have a part on the van so they have to do a repeat visit.

For context, the last and final repair that I refused I was quoted £800. This was apparently part only. A completely new company charged £700 and that included their call out fee.

I left a scathing google review and someone called me in hours saying they’d speak to a manager and see what they can do. I heard nothing.

Someone writes on google, this company will soon be on watchdog. I’d say they’re right.

They overprice, lie, have no sympathy for their extreme charges, they send invoices designed to confuse you, they get their stock wrong.

Do not use. I am £400 down in call out fees, for the worst service I’ve ever received from a company. I’m appalled the rangemaster website recommended them.

Reply from Repairtech Services (UK)

Dear Ms Smith,
We are sorry to read about your disappointing experience as it is always our intention to provide great customer service. For information, Induction appliances are very complex in nature due to many components that interact with each other, or work in a sequence to allow the appliance to function. Therefore, it can be the case that further parts are required that are not detectable until other components have been replaced. Unfortunately, in this instance several parts did not rectify the fault and after liaising with Rangemaster’s technical team it was determined that an entire induction unit was required. At this point, you no longer wished to proceed with the repair and a subsequent refund was issued.

With regards to your comments about dishonesty and overpriced fees, we confirm that we do not instruct Engineers to leave a property if they have the required part on the van, as we endeavour to affect a quick and full repair. In fact, we must note that prior to the first visit, a part was pre-ordered to hopefully enable a first-time fix to save you both money and time without a functioning cooker. However, due to the aforementioned complexity of Induction appliances this was regrettably not the case.

We sympathise that the repair was not resolved in a manner that was acceptable to you in terms of cost. This was reflected by the gesture of goodwill offered to you, but which was later rejected. We cannot comment on the fees or practises of other Repair Companies but must stress that all Parts used by Repairtech Services (UK) Ltd are genuine spares provided by Rangemaster and therefore we are bound by a pricing structure and their lead-times.

Paid £168 for a visit after having told them what the problem was 3 burners failing to light - a common problem with rangemaster cookers. Engineer visited with no spare parts but ‘diagnosed’ the problem! Said someone would contact me within 48 hours. Surprise surprise, they didn’t & I’m still waiting. Why would Rangemaster recommend this company to service and repair their products?

Dear Derek,
We are saddened to hear of your 1*review. As would have been explained to you on the initial phone call, an Inspection Visit is required to identify the correct parts to enable a repair. Being informed of “3 burners failing to light” unfortunately does not diagnose the cause of the fault. We sincerely apologise that you did not receive your quote for the Return Visit within 48 hours. Regrettably, there was a delay in receiving the report. However, we do confirm that a quote was provided via email on 05.03.25 at 09:45 with a follow up telephone call to yourself from Management. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience that has been caused.

When I got through too the right person the part was found and dispatched . I received the item within a couple of days.
The phone call before was to me baffling , I was asked to send photos of AGA cooker . And the email address I was given to send the photos said the email doesn’t exist Which I found strange as it was the one that they sent me.
After serval attempts I gave up and phoned again.
I gave the person my part number that I wanted and it was done
I also gave the part number the first time I phoned so I was confused as 1 person can do it easily and another wants photos
