X Box X 3 year warranty with Domestic and General.
So far two repairs but the X Box was returned twice with the exact same fault still evident. Thermal runaway. My initial complaint was never answered, even though I was promised contact from the Resolutions Team within 24 hours. Two weeks later still no contact. Phoned so many times, asked so many times to speak to a manager to escalate. Seems this is not possible. Very poor service and 3 weeks in I am still sat with an X box that is not useable and no idea when or how this will be resolved.

Don’t bother taking out insurance with an important appliance save the money instead and buy yourself a new machine! I have had three call outs in three months over my washing machine in each instance I have needed a new part where I have been left without a washing machine for two weeks, with two small children there is no urgency. This third time I requested a new machine as can get next day delivery on a machine quicker than the part. However I have been told I’ll only get a machine if it’s written off and I’ll have to wait for a repair, there are other insurers that if you have so many call outs within a period they’ll replace the machine. Not domestic and general they expect to make you wait for weeks for a spare part even when your machine has been broken three times in three months surely that’s a sign of a replacement needed. They wanted me to take out insurance on other appliances but if I am getting this over a washing machine imagine if it was a fridge! Just don’t bother with them save your money or go with another insurance company. Oh and their escalation/ complaints team don’t expect a quick response from those either!

As I said before I’ve been with D&G for many years, their policies are 2nd to none. All round 10 out of 10 Excellent customer service and very knowledgable.

I have 2 tablets which is my sons he as ADHD. He cracked the screen. So I sent in for repair. Was told wrong serial number. Bear in mind I have been paying monthly on both. I only have 2 tablets. But paying for wrong ones. I also paid the £50 to get repaired. Never got that back. I have a lot of items on RPC but argos or domestic and general can tell me what they are. Why argos don't put what they are I don't know. I know date is in past but tablet been going back and forth. Now I have got him a new one. But still like to get others FIXED if I can. Or get my 3x£50 returned to me.

Absolutely useless!!! My elderly disabled mother has all her white goods insured and has done for many years.
They were very slow to fix the washing machine when that broke and now her fridge freezer has broken all her food has gone off and shes been told it'll take a week to sort out. Absolutely disgraceful to leave an old woman with no food!! No service of any kind at the weekend either how utterly pointless

I used D & G for years with appliance cover - always easy to deal with and booked in good tradespersons to make repairs/replacements.
However, I also took their home insurance, plumbing, electrical, drainage etc.
I had an electrical problem that meant the kitchen was getting no power. Through my policy D & G subcontracted this to Sedgwick, who booked a spark, that didn't show twice in a week, this was deemed "an emergency" by D & G and it's not felt like that since, or the level of service I'd expect. With two young kids not ideal and why I purchase cover.
D & G apologised, but that was pretty much it.
I've since cancelled all policies with D & G.

My experience with DnG was clear understanding, no jargon plain English, the rep knew what he was talking about and left nothing to chance, all was explained.

Contacted Domestic and General to inform them of a fault with my mothers boiler. I was told when the engineer serviced the boiler a few weeks ago he wrote in his report there was a fault with a valve but he did not inform my mother as she is elderly and he didn't want to confuse her. Their policy is they are supposed to inform the house owner and it is the house owners responsibility to book the repair. Well you cannot book a repair you have not been made aware of. My number is on the account but no attempt was made to contact me. So now the boiler has gone off and my mother has no hot water or heating . She is 93, disabled and housebound and I am being told an engineer cannot come out for another 4 days . Rubbish customer service from rude people talking poor English . Yes they say they understand my concerns but no help whatsoever. They will escalate my complaint to the complaints dept. Great but I want an engineer to fix the boiler not an apology. Will be cancelling my policy.

First time I’ve made a claim through domestic and general and been with them for many years.
But wow ! They are very fast, I put in my Repiar Request for my PS5 due to randomly shutting down and then next day DPD at my door ready to collect my Ps5 (I made my own box but if you do claim they have a box ready for your console lol) and 2 days later it was back in my house working perfectly. They even replaced my Controller thumb sticks. Due to stick drift
So happy to say I would recommend this company to anyone who wants peace of mind that you will be in safe hands if you ever claim.
And a special thanks to Phil Repair technician and Gary Test engineer thank you both

I had an issue with my American style fridge freezer and I contacted D&G team and had an appointment booked for an engineer visit to take a look at it. After consultation, it was concluded that they couldn't fix it and a replacement fridge freezer was recommended. I was immediately contacted by the D&G team and a link with replacement options was shared with me. I selected my replacement brand/model and it was delivered on time and hassle free. So far so good, I'm enjoying my new product.

Quick and efficient response, by all from the point of break down to product engineer checking, to communicating the outcome, offer of replacement fridge freezer, selection options and to the actual delivery arrangement and delivery.

Never autorenew a policy. On 2 occasions I have received renewal quotes which have increased by 33% this year.
2 of the appliances had increased to over £16.00 a month each.
When I spoke to customer service to cancel the policies I was told the increase was due to repair costs increasing.
I was then asked if they could look at the system to give me an alternative quote, I was then quoted £11 for one Appliance and £6 for the other. Both quotes were lower than last year's policy.
I can only imagine how many retailers get a cut off the original policies. The the new quotes remove all the back handers leaving just D&G as the insurer.
