If I could rate zero
If I could rate zero, I would. I went to Reitmans in the mayflower mall, Sydney NS. There were 4 staff who did not greet me coming into an empty store. No one explained the sale, they completely ignored me. I tried a couple of items on by helping myself to the change room and decided on a t shirt. I went to the cash and was told( not too politely) that I had to buy 2. When I told the girl they only had one in my size, she just shrugged her shoulders and I left. The whole experience was miserable. It’s also interesting that I could buy that same product online as a single item. Worst service in the entire mall
Customer Service email representative…
Customer Service email representative just stopped responding. Told me to go in store and in store told me to email. A week later they sent a follow up email asking how I rate their resolution and if they don't hear from me the case will automatically be closed. They didn't resolve anything! And they didn't respond to that email either... HORRIBLE customer service. I've never experienced such a lack of care from a company before
The company has cheap out of date…
The company has cheap out of date clothes they try to pass off as cool. Smart Set closed for a reason. They act size inclusive but wanted us to look like Victoria Secret models. I was in my early 20s working at Reitmans and we were all encouraged to wear tight black dresses in hopes our bodies would distract the ceo from the things he didn’t like from the store. They tried to make us run all over the place at a break neck speed. Wanting us to do the job of 10 ppl so they can cut staff and not pay more wages. Back in 20 12 They bullied us about hair and make up. Working with dsm Pam r was horrible. She was a bully. It was a culture of bullies. They made us temp managers but never paid us fairly.

Going downhill
I'm not impressed with their return policy when shopping online. They refuse to refund jewelry bought online, due to "sanitary reasons" - which is total BS. What kind of sanitary condition do you think one has, that you can't return an unworn cheap plastic necklace? and why is it so hard to exhibit this policy DURING CHECKOUT process? Instead, I have to investigate and find it on my own on their website. The quality of their clothes has decreased as well during the years, so I am personally not going to shop there anymore and I wish them a lovely bankruptcy. There is a reason why they had been struggling for years.
Extremely poor customer service
POC get ignored
My wife and I went into the woodstock location(no suprise) while being the only two people in store after 5 pm . To be expressly ignored ,we roamed around the store untill we were withn 5ft of both employees for not even an acknowlegement(both employees were not busy) .My only wish was that I had been a mystery shopper to have them understand that when conducting business , the only colour that matters should be green(money). This reflects very poor training on management .While we may not fit the intended demographic of this brand it certainly didn't present any kind of incentive as a young millenial to ever return .

Horrible customer service. I was told by the store staff and customer service I could return an item. When I go in I’m told cannot. I made a special trip to the mall.
Do they just tell customers clothes can be returned just to make a sale?
Online marketing vs. in store marketing
I purchased a couple items online on Nov 19th and Nov 23rd. All items were advertised at 40% off. I then went into the store on Nov 26th to return the items that did not fit. While there, I decided to purchase a pair of pants and 3 basic tank tops. At the time, online these were still advertised at 40% off, so I assumed I would receive the same discount in store.
After I made my purchase, I reviewed the receipt and saw that I received only 30% off on my new purchases, and 1 item I paid FULL PRICE for.
Then today (Nov. 28th), I check the online store again because I felt that I was over charged, and alas! The 40% sale still shows online, so the item that I paid FULL PRICE for is actually on sale at 40% off online!
So, then I contact customer service, and the representative did not seem to have a clear understanding about what sales are being offered in store or online and basically told me that there is nothing I can do, and suggested I just return my items in store and order them again online!
THIS IS INFURIATING! Talk about making someone feel like they are losing their mind......trying to explain this and then be told that I have no option to get a price adjustment. The representative just stated that sales change daily. When I tried to explain to the representative that the 40% off sale has been ongoing for over a week, they still did not seem to understand my situation and basically left me feeling like I need to suck it up.
How does any of this make sense. Why on earth would you ever offer better sales online than in store......is Reitmans trying to close out all of their stores? Do they want people to shop in store at all? What about for people who have no access to the internet, does this mean they miss out on better pricing? And still I am stuck wondering why the heck did I have to pay FULL PRICE for one of my items and an additional 10% on the other 3 items simply because I made a purchase IN STORE!
One would think that they would like to see that customers still choose to shop in store, rather than deter them.
This has left me feeling like I may not shop from this business in future. I had only recently discovered Reitmans, but I am reconsidering shopping here in future.
Waste of money!
I made a 4 item purchase on Oct 6th and today (Oct 11th) I received a weekly email from Reitmans and 2 of the items where on sale again. I called customer service and asked about it and was told that they won't honor the price change.
Price change in 5 days on a long weekend and a huge excuse for a policy!!!!
