RED Driving School 

I strongly recommend Luke Gurling as a driving instructor. He is patient, knowledgeable, and really easy to get along with, which makes learning to drive feel much less stressful. Luke is very approachable and explains things in a way that’s easy to understand, always taking the time to make sure everything makes sense. Overall, he makes learning to drive feel straightforward and genuinely achievable, and I always felt like I was progressing each lesson.

I had a great experience with both my Instructors Tyreek and Tanisha Broady, they both explained things very well, remained calm, and made everything simple. RED’s admin has been very good too, no waiting times and helpful staff on the phones.

I had a disappointing experience with RED Driving School involving one of their instructors, Emeka.

I booked a lesson with less than 24 hours’ notice. Around two hours before the lesson, I contacted the instructor to ask whether it could be rescheduled because I was unable to attend at the booked time. He replied that he was unavailable at any other time that day.

As I had requested a change rather than cancelling the lesson, I expected him to attend at the original scheduled time if the lesson could not be rearranged. However, he did not attend, and the lesson was later recorded as though I had cancelled it. I was charged £90, which I disputed with RED Driving School.

I raised a formal complaint, but after their investigation they decided not to uphold it. I was disappointed with how the complaint was handled and did not feel my concerns had been properly addressed.

During the period I was learning with this instructor, I also felt the quality of tuition was poor. My 90-minute lessons often finished around 15 minutes early, and I did not feel I was receiving value for the full lesson time.

Because my driving test was approaching, I decided to stop taking lessons with RED and switched to another driving instructor from a different company. After only a few lessons with the new instructor, I passed my practical driving test on my first attempt with no driving faults.

This review reflects my personal experience with both the instructor and RED Driving School’s handling of my complaint.

I passed my driving test first time in Southall on the 16th June 2026 thanks to my amazing driving instructor Suzan Besarany!

I started lessons with her sometime in April after having over 40 hours lessons with previous instructors, and in the short period we had lessons, she made a huge difference to my driving and confidence.

What really stood out for me was how efficient and effective her teaching was. Every lesson felt productive and she focused on helping me become a safe and confident driver rather than dragging out the learning process to increase the number of lessons.

I honestly wish I had started with her from day one as I am sure I would have passed much sooner and saved a lot of money on lessons. She was always punctual, patient and explained everything clearly.

I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable and friendly driving instructor.

I learned to drive and passed my test in Southend-on-Sea all thanks to Rob Smart. Rob is very patient and encouraging, and helped me from the very beginning to develop my driving skills and build up my confidence when driving. He is also easy to get along with and has a flexible way of teaching, which helped me develop my knowledge and skills when driving.
I would 100% recommend Rob!

What can I say Arun is a miracle worker and I have to say my experience was spectacular because every single thing is well taught and very well trained. I would recommend Red driving school to any new student who wants to learn how to drive

Genuinely recommend Tee (Telisha Josephs), defo the instructor-OAT. Always clear, calm, and supportive with instructions and reactions during lessons. Was so encouraging and warm from my very first driving lesson til the end; covered commentary driving, tips to pass the exam, and general feedback to help me be a genuinely good driver!! Optimistic and positive vibes 24/7 so I always felt confident with her 🌟

I have had an amazing year of learning to drive, with Nazreen Shakoor. I was able to pass my driving test first time thanks to the fun and easy lessons. Starting from very little knowledge of how to drive.

I just passed my test with Red, all thanks to the amazing instructor Telisha (Tee). She was so friendly and an excellent instructor and would definitely recommend

I highly recommend the instructor Faraz Zia. From the start he was a very kind and supportive instructor and balanced it with specific and clear feedback. And he helped me pass in two weeks! (with previous experience driving with parents). If you want an amazing instructor who’ll make the most of your time and will give you the best value for money, he’s who i would recommend

I had a fantastic experience learning to drive with Dean Syer. From the very first lesson, he was patient, professional, and incredibly supportive, which really helped build my confidence behind the wheel. His teaching style is clear and structured, making even the more challenging aspects of driving easy to understand.
Dean always created a calm and positive learning environment, and he took the time to explain everything thoroughly without making me feel rushed or pressured. His tips and guidance were spot on and played a huge role in helping me improve quickly.
Thanks to his excellent instruction, I was able to pass my driving test on the first attempt, which I’m really proud of. I would highly recommend Dean to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and reliable driving instructor.

Telisha Josephs is an incredibly encouraging and kind instructor. With her amazing guidance I managed to pass my test with only 1 driving fault. As someone who struggles deeply with low self confidence and sever anxiety it was important for me to have an instructor who was not only patient but would also be understanding and Tee is both of those. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Tee found a great balance of not only explain where I'd gone wrong but also hilighting and bringing extra attention to things I'd done well. Even when my driving wasn't great at the start Tee would always find something positive in my driving.

Just passed my driving test in Guildford with one minor , had a lovely instructor Manuel who engraved confidence in my driving ability !

My instructor, Juliet Jones, prepared me perfectly to pass my test with lessons in the South East London region. Having worked with several other instructors, I found Juliet to be calm and gentle in her manner and helped me to understand the rules of the road. Thank you Juliet!

Not dealing with instructors appropriately

Being charged way more than the pupils I even get.
I believe we are slaves to this company as nothing at all is professional
Not is it financially viable

Not protecting the students who come through to red of any accidents by insurance.

My instructor was Paul Green and he got me through my test first time with only 2 minors. I can’t thank him enough. His calm demeanour helped me no end when I was learning to drive. He is accommodating and extremely helpful. I couldn’t recommend Paul enough.

You’ve been told and warned to stop your drivers driving around agecroft estate especially the green where all the estate kids play yet, you STILL have them driving about. We have messaged you numerous times and it’s being ignored. This is full of children playing. This road is for residents only not for your driving school! I’ve already had my kerbs ruined by your drivers and you will be getting footage and a bill to fix. Stay away from our estate otherwise more reviews will come in
