The dial is really well done. The feeling of the SR 71 definitely shows itself. The movement is beautiful. The strap however, in my opinion, was a bit of a miss. It feels like an afterthought and kind of looks like it. It makes the watch look super cheap and it does not "hug" the wrist very well. This is obviously a preference but if they did a steel band, it would have been stunning, absolutely stunning. I've been told this by my coworkers as well. They said the dial was striking until they focused on the strap and felt it was a let down. I have had this watch for a day and the stitching is already starting to fray.
So in conclusion, the dial is beautiful and, as a pilot and aviation enthusiast, it totally embodies the glory of the SR-71 but the strap makes it look like a cheap toy watch

I pre-ordered the V-Eight in January 2025 and it was due in June. It was a bit slow in arriving but landed in July well packaged and in a lovely presentation box.
When i opened the box I was presented with a lovely watch which looks really clear and crisp and has a nice smooth action. It is powered by motion and has a meter which looks like a fuel gauge to show how much power is left. Lovely watch which is a bit different representing American muscle cars from the 60's and 70's. I'm happy with my purchase ☺️

Absolutely fantastic watch. Premium packaging aside this is a car driver's vet dream. Looks and feels manly and stylish

Function and style in one time piece

I have a REC X4009 in Antha Gray. My crown was having an issue. I contacted REC, they sent me a label, I shipped my watch off to DENMARK and had it back on my wrist in about 10-11 days from when I dropped it off at FED-EX. I don't know if that is the normal turnaround time for repairs, but they have won me over. I know if something goes wrong with my watch they will make it right. REC haas a fan for life and I am now looking to buy my next REC watch,

What disappointed me, though, is that even though I was promised an additional strap, it wasn’t included. This is very disappointing and took away from the overall experience. What can be done about this?

The Watch is really inique and very nice to wear. It has been a very good chioce.

First off, the watch commemorating Patterson C. Hughes in Hunter Green with Pumpkin colored minute and hour hands and five-minute numbers is just beautiful and is amazingly quiet. Knowing that a piece of his plane is part of this watch is very special indeed. The shipping time was super-fast from Denmark to my address in the U.S. REC is a great and reliable company. So glad I found them!

I couldn’t be more happy and satisfied with the quality of my timepiece and the REC service. My piece (X4009) is stunning, sturdy and very reliable and has sparked a conversation every time someone notices it. Such a wonderful way to commemorate a legendary pilot, his aeroplane and the battle he fought and helped win. The packaging, authenticity card and accessories are also of exceptional quality. The service team at REC, especially Christian and Yann, were absolutely terrific. They communicated with me and with the courier firm consistently and efficiently and also copied me in to their emails between each other, so I was across status and progress of delivery which was so great, and this was something I’ve never experienced before. They even ensured it was delivered safely and securely over a vast distance during the hectic Christmas period. Thank you REC. I’m keen to purchase another, so please keep up the great work!

Hal was wonderful we had real trouble with imported and delivery but he helped all the way and here we are a year later and it arrived

I was given a watch with metal from Carol Shelby's little red mustang in 2021 I didnt wear it for a while and when I started again I noticed after a few months that it was starting to lose time. And then with in a month it was just stopping completely. And guess what it was out of warranty by about 8 months. I took it to a watchmaker here in NZ and he told me $1200 at least (watch cost about 3kNZ) I contacted Rec watches and said not good enough for a watch of that cost regardless of warranty. Asked what they were going to do. And to their credit they were great they offered to repair it if I pay for freight there and back, which I did and I have it back working fine. They were great and did not try to back out they just fronted up and backed their product. Thanks REC Watches

The watch looks great - perfect size, beautiful dial, pretty details. Plus Spitfire heritage, everythig for a reasonable price. Online purchase fast, no problem.

It looks great and I love the story behind it
However, it is not keeping time and I am constantly having to adjust it

I bought a 901 GW
Exoskeleton from rec watches maybe a year ago, it’s a very limited piece to 188 examples. Wore it maybe 2 times until the watch internally started to make a weird whiny/ grind noise. It was under warranty so I sent it back to them for a hefty price since they’re in Denmark for a very hefty price to ship, only to have it returned shortly after saying they couldn’t find the route to the problem after taking it apart. No replacement at all and a very loud and annoying watch that I have to live with Waste of $2500 for sure.

I have previously purchased REC watches & like the brand & designs . I had an issue with a Fed Ex delivery from them however Yann at REC went above & beyond in rectifying the courier issue . Genuinely fantastic service & I would recommend them for both unique design as well as being a fantastic company to deal with . 10/10 well worth checking out

I Had been eagerly awaiting arrival of my X4009 Semtra Black Watch two days before before Cyclone Alfred struck Brisbane.
Thankfully it arrived when it did!
I can only imagine the turbulence this watch went through in its previous life as part of a Spitfire fighting over Britain.
That said, its first few days here were certainly interesting too, as it is rather unusual for us to get directly hit by cyclones here.
Well, the carpet is wet and the fence is gone, but I have my watch!
And I absolutely love it!
It feels absolutely great on my wrist. Not too bulky, but with a nice weight that feels like you are wearing an item of quality.
My Cricket team and my other mates will be getting the whole story about this watch very soon!

I have been out of Australia since November 2024. I will be returning at the beginning of April. I bought the X4009 watch in December and I am very much looking forward to seeing it because Pat Hughes was an Australian Spitfire Ace flying with the RAF during the Battle of Britain with 17 confirmed victories over the Luftwaffe. He only flew in combat for 2 months before he was killed. His Spitfire was only flown by him and the REC watch contains a piece of that aircraft. His Spitfire is currently being rebuilt back to flying and it is heart moving to know on my wrist is a part X4009 and it will be staying in Australia

The turnaround time between placing and receiving the order was much shorter than expected. I later had a question concerning the watch, contacted REC and they responded quickly. The customer service representative was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The watch is beautiful! I have nothing but good things to say about this company and their product.

We liked the ease of ordering the watch and having 10% off our order. However did not realise that it would cost over 400 Australian dollars to have it delivered via DHL. To Australia.

A few years ago, I saw an advertisement for REC Watches' RJM series. As someone deeply interested in World War II, especially the planes and tanks, and looking for a quality watch, it caught my attention. I bought one and have worn it daily over the past few years; it still works perfectly. Last year, I purchased the X4009 model, which was delivered recently. This watch also exceeds my expectations. It's wonderful to own a piece of history, and these timepieces are excellent additions to any collection. Additionally, their customer service is outstanding; they respond promptly and provide thorough assistance. I eagerly look forward to the next plane or tank-inspired watch. Keep up the excellent work :).
