First Time Booking with Rail Europe

This was my first time booking train tickets through Rail Europe. I originally planned to travel with a Eurail Global Pass, but I couldn’t reserve seats anymore because they were sold out. To secure my seat, I decided to purchase single tickets through Rail Europe instead.

The booking process was easy, and I received my confirmation quickly. However, after comparing prices, I found that booking directly with Eurostar was cheaper than booking through Rail Europe for the same journey.

Overall, I’m happy that I was able to secure my seat for my trip. I would use Rail Europe again if I needed a convenient way to book multiple European train routes, but I would also compare prices with the train operator’s official website before purchasing.

Hence, the ticket prices shown on our website are the same fares provided by the rail operators, based on availability at the time of booking. The difference you noticed usually comes from our booking fee, which is a small service fee per booking made on our website. This helps us maintain a seamless booking experience, provide customer support, and continuously improve our platform.

The good part is that this fee is charged only once per booking, no matter how many journeys you include under the same booking - so it’s often more efficient when booking multiple routes together.

Only offered a limited choice of options for getting to my destination. Brussels-Luxembourg followed by Luxembourg-Bullay was not mentioned.

In some cases, especially with regional connections like Brussels–Luxembourg and Luxembourg–Bullay, certain combinations may not always appear as a single suggested itinerary depending on availability and how routes are distributed between operators.

As an authorised distributor of European rail tickets, our website displays the options available through the rail operators’ ticketing systems. Because of this, some combinations may not always be shown as one through-journey.

You can still absolutely travel this way by booking the legs separately, and our platform typically highlights the most direct or commonly available routes first.

Efficient in some ways, but very deficient in others

Overall the system is good and readily navigable. The major issue with the site is it ridiculously short "time-out" period prior to cancelling your bookings. If you are seaching for times in a multi-city trip, you cannot book unless you have determined all the times and trains and classes of service in advance.
Also, there is woefully inadequate description of the differences between fares, and train companies. This is needed for anyone who is not an Italian

Wrong platform, no AC

One of my transfers was 6 minutes long and it gave me the wrong platform, by the time I got to the right one I'd missed the train and had a 2 hour wait for the next one. That one had 3 of 4 bathrooms out of service and no AC.

Please refund small change

Mr. Sheikh is completely not understanding that I simply replaced a ticket station and he will not refund my $153. We upgraded to deluxe as good customers for you as well. I also noted that I had cancer and could not walk to the other station. You guys are heartless if you cannot reimburse this tiny little change with excellent reason to do so. -Jared Rein

Our team member, Mr. Sheikh, reviewed your request carefully and responded with empathy and clarity based on the fare conditions of your booking. Your tickets were booked under a Super Economy fare, which is set by the railway operator (Trenitalia) and is strictly non-refundable and non-changeable. Because of this, we’re unable to process a refund for the main ticket fare, even in exceptional circumstances, as we must follow the railway’s rules.

We completely understand that your situation, including your medical condition and the last-minute change in arrangements, has made this experience especially difficult. While we genuinely wish we could offer more flexibility, fare rules are applied consistently by the railway and cannot be overridden on our side.

We also want to assure you that your concern was taken seriously and handled with care by our support team. Any available refund in your case was only related to the unused seat reservation portion, as per the fare structure.

Note that we're the authorised train tickets distributor for European Rail operators, and we have to abide by the conditions set by them. We always do our best to help all our customers, but within the limitations set by the rail operators. Hope this helps clarify things

High marks for convenience! Ease of use is good...had some difficulty with seating and being able to change seating. I am travelling with a large party (8) so seating is important.

Regarding seating on Eurostar, customers can select seat preferences during booking, but seats are then assigned automatically by the system based on availability and the preference chosen.
