No contact, no help. Even the insurer upheld a complaint

I have dealt with some poor loss adjusters in the past but these reach a hole new level.
NIG upheld a complaint about them and I still have had no reply to now 4 weekly emails requesting payments, updates or any contact at all. I would refuse to work with these again in future. Management down, no one wants to take responsibility.

I would give zero star to this company.

I would give zero star to this company.
Avoid altogether. All reviews are 100% spot on with useless company.
They were appointed by royal sun alliance as their agent. They let me down at the last minute not once but twice for not keeping inspection appointments.wasting my time due to taking time off for the visit they arranged. I lost two days earnings worth over £3400 as i am a dentist specialised doing implants.
followed by another company called Allied universal compliance and investigation services.
I escalated complaint for financial loss three weeks ago and still waiting for response. 3 weeks ago I was told they will comeback to me with resolution. Nothing happened so far. Still waiting.

As I escalated it as a complaint for not turning up ,I had a hunch or feeling after escalating that they will ensure to reject my claim some way to teach me lesson.
Precisely that is what happened!
They create their imaginary loopholes without taking into account any explanations or fact finding.
I had water escape through ceiling from my ensuite .
I have 5 bedroom house that I bought two years ago, that was being sold as 7 bedroom.
After various visits the seller agreed to reduce price by 150000 and accepted that it was no really a 7 bedroom as two of his rooms were gamerooms in the loft conversion are with very low ceilings.
Due to Their imaginary discovery they assited insurance company in rejecting my my claim.

Both company there to find every which way to reject the claim and void your policy.
I bet both firms employees are on piece work to earn hefty commissions from royal sun alliance for rejecting claims.

First ,I will give you our experience with the first company called woodgate and Clark.

Currently taking W&C through a spserate…

Currently taking W&C through a separate legal battle for refusing to pay out on a claim. Not even offering half of the damage caused.Absolutely awful and the lady who we are dealing with, Sarah, has no thought or compassion for what we are going through.
All reviews state the same! Terrible company! AVOID AVOID AVOID.
I advise those who are in battle with W&C to seek legal aid/litigation.
W&C will scaremonger you with a paragraph about spiraling legal costs, but please pursue. The more that challenge them, the better!!

My heart sank when I googled this firm…

My heart sank when I googled this firm and saw 2.1 star rating. I then had to call them and still are dealing with them. Communication….almost zero! Rude and arrogant. My claim will no doubt be dragged out. Everyone I’ve spoken to has been the same within the company which leads me to believe this is filtered down from management. If I could leave zero stars I would and I’ll continue to run a company with 5,500 reviews at 5.0 star rating rather than a company with 2.1 stars and 16 reviews. I’d be embarrassed to work at Woodgate-Clarke.

Left Destitute with No Home and Four Children - Avoid This Company at All Costs!

I cannot stress enough how horrendous my experience has been with the loss adjusters assigned by my home insurance company. After being displaced from my home for over four months, waiting for someone to come out and assess the situation, I have been left destitute with no home and four children to look after. Dealing with this company has been the single most stressful and demoralizing experience of my life, and I urge anyone considering them to stay far, far away.

The adjuster they assigned was incredibly condescending and dismissive. She was consistently late to every appointment and refused to let me get a word in edgewise, cutting me off anytime I tried to explain the dire situation we’re in. It was clear that she had no intention of actually listening to my concerns, let alone showing any empathy for our circumstances. To make matters worse, she outright denied events that clearly happened, twisting the facts to suit her narrative rather than addressing the problems.

Incredibly, despite claiming to fix the issues, they left two large holes in my roof that they put there themselves! These holes continue to cause leaks, and yet they insist that the leak was “fixed.” The only area of my roof that leaks is the very spot where these holes remain — the utter disregard for both the condition of my home and the wellbeing of my family is appalling.

This company and its representatives are not just unprofessional; they are actively negligent. Not only have they failed to fix the issues, but they have also made them worse, leaving my family in a completely unlivable situation. Please avoid this company if you want to keep your sanity — they will add nothing but stress, frustration, and despair to your life.

Really happy with how Glenn Weatherall…

Really happy with how Glenn Weatherall assisted with my claim. He was very professional, friendly and courteous.
I would recommend using PLA to anyone who needs someone on their side when an unfortunate incident happens and you need help with an insurance claim.

Should have used this firm from the start, but they were excellent

Had a burst pipe and subsequent flood in my house during the cold snap in December 2022. Originally started dealing with the insurance firm myself, which after 2 weeks was becoming quite stressful especially when your trying to get the house back to normal working order. The insurers instructed a loss assessor so I bit the bullet and decided to instruct my own loss adjustors with Glenn and the team. We went in fine detail what happened, loads of videos and photos were shared to fully understand the problem and I just let Glenn then take over the claim and deal with the insurers loss assessor, it just made logical sense to me to get someone who knows this back to front rather than me potentially missing some key detail.

Now I have been through this ordeal the next time I go through anything like this again Public Loss Adjustors will be my first port of call. Its worth the fee to leave the professionals to make your claim.

I cannot thank PLA and Michael Williamson enough for their help, following our recent escape of water from a frozen pipe.
Three rooms on our ground floor were completely flooded. Michael was extremely quick to answer my query and very kind and reassuring that he would be able to assess and help.
The whole process of the claim was very smooth. The team quickly initiated drying and were so responsive with any queries. Michael managed to achieve a very reasonable settlement, which will enable enough to return the rooms to a lovely standard again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It was incredibly stressful when the flood first happened and we had no idea where to begin. Also as two busy professionals with a young family, there is no way that we would have been able to chase the insurance company in the way that Michael did or with anywhere near the success

Glenn managed to sort out an insurance…

Glenn managed to sort out an insurance claim for myself. The insurance company appointed a loss Adjuster from he'll, got Glenn involved after 8 weeks of getting nowhere. Glenn and his team worked through all the problems to finally get a resolution. If I knew this was going to be this hard to make a claim on house insurance I would have had Glenn involved from the start. Lesson learned for next time.

Water Leak. Insurance Claim.

I dealt with Glenn Weatherall. He was professional knowledgeable and efficient. The exact opposite of the freeholder, insurance company and claims adjuster on the other side. I appreciated his calm rational and measured approach without showing his frustration with those with whom he had to deal. If I am ever unfortunate enough to have another water leak and another insurance claim he will be the first person I call.

PLA take away all the hassle and stress!

After suffering a burst pipe, which led to water coming through the downstairs ceiling, I didn't really know where to start - having no previous experience of insurance claims or any practical building or construction knowledge, I simply didn't know how much work would be required and therefore was worried at being at the mercy of the insurance company, concerned they would try and rectify the works in the cheapest way possible.

So I decided to engage PLA to assist me, and am so glad I took this decision. I have dealt with Glenn Weatherall the whole way through the process, and he has been extremely knowledgeable and professional the whole way through. He has totally removed all the hassle and stress from me in dealing directly with the insurance company, their loss adjusters and contractors. It was great to have someone like Glenn representing me and gave me such peace of mind, his expertise and experience ensured that the insurance company would not be able to fob me off, and that all restoration works that needed doing would be included by Glenn and he would ensure that everything would be carried out to a high standard, and that the insurance company would not be able to cut any corners.

He kept me constantly updated and made contact with me throughout my claim, ensuring I had minimal involvement and the associated hassle, and I would recommend using PLA and particularly Glenn to help with any insurance claim, he really went the extra mile and put in a great deal of work to make sure my house was restored as it should have been, to a high standard and I can rest easy knowing that all the work that needed to be done, has been done.

Best decision ever to appoint PLA! (criminal damage claim)

At the end of Sept 2021, we uncovered the total nightmare of criminals--posing as legit tenants--having set up a cannabis farm in our beloved Grade II Listed commercial premises. After the Police raid, we could tell there was extensive damage done throughout. Our first contact with our insurers (Aviva) was fine, but I quickly started panicking when the customer service from their loss adjusters (Crawco) was very spotty to say the least. So within days of the raid, I happened to come across PLA here on Trustpilot (after reading all the terrible reviews about Crawco here!), never having known before we could get someone to advocate on our behalf. BEST DECISION EVER! Glenn Weatherall and team quickly sprung into action, and gave us great confidence (adeptly explaining what we could expect during the process), meeting us on-site with the Crawco lost adjuster and making us feel we were in good hands. As we were going to be out of the country, Glenn was able to help us arrange all of the remedial works to our building with various tradespeople, whilst also pushing through the claims process. Whilst it did take a year to finally have our claim payment through, we are very happy with the service and would 100% totally recommend PLA for any insurance claim.

Fantastic service - would highly recommend

We had a substantial leak in our kitchen which ruined the kitchen units, flooring and architraves etc. We tried negotiating with our insurance directly for the first 3 months but seemed to have reached an impasse.
A friend of mine recommended Glenn Weatherall from Public Loss Adjusters, as he had instructed him on his house leak previously.
From the moment Glenn made contact, he was absolutely brilliant in the way he took over the case and communicated on my behalf with the insurance company. Within a matter of weeks, he had successfully challenged the insurance companies extremely low settlement offer.
And Glenn ended up negotiating a settlement figure that was 4 times larger than the insurance company's original offer.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Glenn and his company to anyone.
A superb service all round.

After six month's frustrated dealings…

After six month's frustrated dealings with my insurer's loss adjuster, I engaged Public Loss Assessors last August to help with my subsidence claim. Dealing initially with Dean and latterly with Michael Williamson, PLA took over my case and managed further negotiations with the loss adjuster.

Nothing in insurance seems to be straightforward - insurance companies really are only interested in your premiums, and they will absolutely do their best to downplay and wriggle out of their liabilities to their policyholders. If you have the strength to play a waiting game, you can eventually turn this tardiness to your advantage. In the end, everyone has a boss and insurance companies have industry performance standards to which they like to adhere. If you can allow them to string things out long enough on your claim, they will blink when they realise that they are in danger of not hitting their targets.

In my case, over a year later, the insurance company had to acknowledge that I had a claim and pay me several orders of magnitude more than the derisory verbal off they'd reluctantly previously given me.

So, in the end - I am very glad I engaged PLA - Michael drove all the way down south to do a survey on the house, and explained the paradox that although it would take a long time to get a settlement, but that the longer I waited the better it would be. After that he kept the pressure on until we achieved that settlement.

Without PLA, I would certainly have given in much earlier in the process and would doubtless have ended up nowhere near the settlement to which I was entitled.

Great service

After the dreadful winter storms we suffered roof damage totalling £11,000 and had a derisory offer from the Aviva's loss adjusters of around £2,250. I never knew it was possible to question this but after looking online I found Public Loss Adjusters. Whilst it took a while, (primarily due the insurers' loss adjusters tardiness) Glenn provided an excellent service and upped the amount of compensation considerably. I would highly recommend.
