I really do enjoy this app, it's helping me improve my writing. However, there's a minor concern with pronouns. My character, Aiz, uses they/them pronouns, and it keeps correcting everything as if I'm... See more

Sometimes it messes up suggestions
Sometimes it messes up suggestions, and I wish you could delete premium suggestions. But otherwise it catches a lot of things I nor my editor can, so that is really helpful. The best thing is helping with sentence beginnings repeating.
Great for Creative Manuscripts
I love ProWritingAid because of its friendly interface, ease of use and more relaxed rephrasing. I ran a manuscript critique and it genuinely blew me away with how it described the complex dynamics and themes present in my story's setting and characters, and now I've gotten the push I need to not rewrite the end of my story, but give it some sense and spine.
My only qualm with it is how expensive credits are, and how it doesn't consider character dialect when flagging errors in dialogue.
I like the community of writers
I like the community of writers, the helpful feedback, and the feeling of accomplishment I get from writing using this tool.
I love writing with this as it made me…
I love writing with this as it made me realize just how much I need to improve with my tenses (present tense, past, future, etc.) and made me realize that I show a lot more than I tell.
I'm currently writing a story of my own…
I'm currently writing a story of my own right now, and ProWritingAid is helping bring out the detailed and sophisticated language that I'm looking for. No matter what I am writing, whether it be a letter, a document, or just continuing with my story, ProWritingAid is there to help me with my writing and to make it as effective as possible!
Ease of use
Ease of use. And helpful suggestion.
But often I'll receive conflicting corrections. i.e. A pop-up will tell me to remove a comma. I'll remove the comma, then another pop-up will tell me to add a comma.
It is very good at picking up errors…
It is very good at picking up errors and providing constructive criticism on reports and texts. Its customisation options ensure whatever your writing is perfect for the task at hand. However, the limit on report runs is very short, especially if writing a gradable report. I will note that payment plans a reasonable and the lifetime plan is a standout that no other type of grammar tool has, which makes it a clear favourite personally.
I like the features, app could use work
I like all the features, but hate how many things are locked behind the membership. It can also be very overstimulating, but overall, a great app and even greater potential.
Love it!
I like it so much that it corrects my writing; I learn while practicing. Receiving reports and critiques is also beneficial for my improvement and helps my self-esteem.
this app as helped me so much
i am a new author and this site as he;lped me so much with my book. Other sites were suitable, but this was the most helpful one.

It's very useful in giving me feedback and recommendations. I've been using the chapter critique every day.
Solid tool on every level.

paid 43 dollars for a month subscription. app dors not give you many suggestions other than grammer and some basic phrases, and then when requesting a refund just after an hour of use, they did not accept. told me they only refund for yearly subscriptions!
this is really weird.
Review
The colour coordination helps tell things. The problem is that you don't know whether something is premium blocked or not until you hover over it, because there isn't a single colour for the premium ones. The style guide is very annoying as doing something as simple as calling something good or bad gets it flagged. While there is an option to disable it, I'm wary that something else useful will too.
Great! But there is slight issues...
ProWritingAid is honestly really helpful, better than most popular writing assistance, but its lacks features that can be used without pro. Its difficult to be a professional writer, while having the money to pay for a subscription as such. There are many uses and tools in ProWritingAid that is not available for me, so without taking money, I wish the company had advertisements to pay for their funding, allowing loyal users of the extension to freely and creatively use their writing talents, without worry of a paid subscription. Overall, a nice touch but needs some evaluating.
Just hire a human editor
While sometimes useful on a technical level for things like grammar or pointing out when you're using passive voice or too many glue words, it's not worth paying for. The chapter critique is inconsistent if you go back to ask for multiple critiques on the same chapter - literally the things it said were good ony first critique it said were concerns the next critique. It also has a lot of trouble understanding what tense you're using. It kept suggesting corrections for a different tense than the rest of the documents. Don't even bother with the rephrasing tool unless you want a good laugh. While technically the words it suggests mean the same thing, they're formulated in a way that reveals it's not human and would leave your readers baffled if not guffawing. So embarrassing they'd actually put this on the market. How have they not walked into the sea out of shame? 😆
