Prorealtime is the best trading app by far
Prorealtime is the best trading app by far. It's the most dynamic, friendly and professional app on the market.
The app is excellent also graphically. The option to define screeners and indicators is so powerful and it also improved me as a trader. You can sense that someone is doing a great job in knowing what a trader needs.
ProRealTime is excellent.
I’m using ProRealTime’s current platform (11.1) and IBKR in the USA. The platform is the best I have used for chart trading. There are multiple order options (limit, trailing stops, etc.) that I can place directly on the chart and manage my positions in real time as I adapt to the market. The data feed is stable and fast. The software works without glitches. Execution is fast and there is very little slippage. Best of all is the forex spread. I focus on aud, gbp, eur, and usd currency trading xchange. Spreads are routinely as low as 1 pipette!! Incredible. Lower even than IBKR’s FXtrader quotes almost always. I couldn’t be happier with the service. As for Equities…the lists are amazing, the screener is excellent, and the available resources through ProRealCode are powerful. I do not automate trading…so I can’t speak to that. I have used a number of different platforms…and though I did find DAS Trader Pro quite powerful and flexible, I do not anticipate going back. ProRealTime Pro is awesome for the way I trade (mouse on chart). The integration with IBKR is dependable. I worked with Coline, who was quick to respond and helped get me a smoking deal for the first three months on a premium subscription. ProRealTime is helping me keep more of my trading wins with low costs, excellent executions, and powerful tools.
Two drawbacks worth mentioning.
First, the only problem with trading Forex through IBKR is that they won’t provide leverage if you’re not worth 10million. For many that will prevent taking advantage of the ultra low spreads. That isn’t ProRealTime’s fault…just an issue USA customers should know.
Second, the mobile interface needs work. It is way behind other mobile apps. It is clunky and hard to enter orders or manage a trade from the mobile site. I hope they invest in making a dedicated app that will be more intuitive and functional. For now I will only use PRT from my desktop.

I had a technical issue related to upgrading from version 10.3 to version 11.1 and I called the technical team. They were very friendly and extremely efficient indeed. This software is really good once you get to play with but that takes time and concentration. Once you get used to it trading becomes a joy. Cool stuff!!!
Billing service keep getting worse
I was a paid subsriber of Prorealtime for more than 5 years and finanlly decided to quit bacause of their billing and services related to billing keep getting worse and no one seems to care.
1) When you unsubsribe to take a break or whatever reason , you do not get a confirmation email anymore. So you don't have any records or proof of unsubscribing.
2) When your subsription expires , all the invoices will disappear from your profile without any warning. Even though you can login to your account and use free daily charts but you cannot see your invoices . At least they should display some warning about that so we can dowload it beforehand.
3) Their invoices does not break down the services what we are charged for . Its only when you email to them then they can provide detailed breakdowm.
Haha sorry i do not want to email every time to find out the detail breakdown of what services i am charged for.
4) When I tried to re-subscribed they recently started asking for $900 for pre-authriztion on customers credit card for a $35 service.
Their customer service is saying that they will not charged that amount unless there are unpaid bills. They have a 3rd party payment processor now and that payment processor is asking me for $900 autorization . Sorry I am not interested .
5) The company need to realize they are providing online service and the billing should be transparent and customers should feel incharge and not the other way round.
Customers have to right to receive approriate invoices with detail breakdown , all times without asking.
UPDATE : I am updating to answer the reply from Prorealtime :
1) I standby by my coments that NO details breakdown is provided in the invoice.
eg: Below is the only description i receives in the invoice

The above description for the charge is not sufficient specially when customers enable /disabling access for some services during the month. in that case we have to email customer service to get the details breakdown for which services and which amount are we charged for in the invoice.
Below is the detail breakdown i got when i contacted customer service , so the question is why can't the detail breakdown be given in the invoice ??? :

2) Confirmation on the screen of cancellation is not enough as it cannot be stored as a proof or record. Your company has hired a third party payment processor , there has been instances with such third party companies that they continue to charge sometime despite service was cancelled. In such cases , the credit card companies requires proof of cancellation of service.
All reasonable companies sends automatic emails when subscribing or cancelling the service to make things transparent otherwise it is his word against my word. I think Prorealtime can do better .

A few months ago I read in a forum that a client had problems with the dividend update. I didn't give it much thought until I had serious problems with the FX charts and NY closing. There is no way, ProRealTime does not match my broker's charts (Pepperstone) as well as Metatrader4 and 5, CTrader or Tradingview. The differences are important. But the worst is the terrible technical service, 1 week to receive a reply! And the answer is an insult to human intelligence by sending basic configuration instructions when I send them screenshots and information of all kinds to analyze the problem that is not a simple configuration.
Now that I want to cancel my subscription (prepaid PREMIUM) I can't find how to do it on the site. Sure I can send an e-mail but being an IT provider that weird ... I do not recommend ProRealTime at all, for the quality of data but much less for its service.

Great people and great algos.
I have only positive things to say about the PRA team and their products. They are very helpful with everything, very transparent with information and how algos are performing. From what I have seen on backtests and own experience so far the algos seem to have som really really great potential.
ProRealFrustration
I've been using ProRealTime for years, almost only for automatic trading. So I spent lot of time learning the PRT code for developing automatic strategies.
All the automatic strategies launched had problems, they behaved incorrectly, so I requested support and had to give free access to all my codes several times.
I have also requested refunds many times, often granted precisely because of the problems the platform has. The support, with whom I have had to deal countless times, is absolutely slow, unprofessional because never deigns to clarify the nature of technical problems and seems, from the countless unanswered questions, to be pleased to be in a position of supremacy and arrogance in ignoring explicit requests for clarification; this has created a lot of frustration and stress that I decided to write my review, just now, that I am waiting for 3 months for an answer for the resolution of the last bug found in v.10 and v.11 as well, which is generating tests that report incorrect and conflicting data.
Charts all over
I am using ProRealTime for 3.5 years, and with a couple of hunderd orders per month a somewhat larger user (I'm told).
I noticed a few reviews of others complaining about how Auto Trading does not come up with the same (similar) results in real time vs previous Backtesting. However, people should realise that this is via IG (broker) and it is them messing up (just look at how they steal your money anyway, and you will know enough).
On another note, people should be aware that for the regular broker PRT makes use of (this is IB - Interactive Brokers) no Autotrading is available as of yet (it will be in a nearer future).
I also noticed complaints about a long wait for being fully "signed up" so the real trading can begin, and indeed it is so that this takes two weeks (I tested it a couple of times, having more accounts). Here it is the broker (IB or IG) which applies several checks and those checks consume a lot of throughput time. On an other note I myself have seen redundancy in the questions ProRealTime asks, hence questions sequentially asked which could have been put in parallel (saves one or two days). So PRT, please listen to this on behalf of new customers which would miss out on so much because of a possible early give-up.
And, the least you (PRT) could do is take out the suggestion that your trades are only a few clicks away from the moment of subscribing. Better put the "two weeks" there as the promise (all IMHO).
Regarding stocks I trade mostly American Stocks and let me tell you that with TWS (Trader WorkStation) of IB on-screen as well, it allows for about all you'd want . However, that also tells you how a super-large broker as IB is, is not in the slightest able to provide charts which are workable for you, the trader. Or better put : now you can see how PRT is so enormously ahead of everything else, where it is about trading with graph(ic)s as a base;
In PRT all is a breeze, the screens can be packed with no redundant data whatsoever (read : 10 charts can be in the place of 5 of TWS and you can *still* do so much more).
The charts or lists you can give a look you like, ever so nicely "stick" to each other (windows elements) so forming your screens with charts/lists is again a breeze, and the result a joy to look at. And if you don't like the red of downward going bars and trends, just make those green or go Short on the instrument (haha).
Typing this, it comes to my mind how super-super useful the "Invert Position" option is, which in two clicks (without confirmation (allowed with sufficient experience)) inverts your position. I some times do it more than a dozen times a day (on different Futures) and all it takes is a bit commission from IB/PRT which you will gain back in seconds.
(yes, compare this "bit" like EUR 3-5 with the EUR 30-50 IG takes on the spread !)
The above brings me to the being complete free of subscription fees (all of them) when you make a sufficient amount of trades; envision to be subscribed to 30 different markets (could cost EUR 9 per piece) and also the main subscription itself + Premier again normally costing some, ... when you make enough trades this is really all for free. I know ... :-)
Something which can't be emphasized enough : PRT works "Server side". This means that your orders (read : Charts) are actually maintained at the ProRealTime servers and NOT on your PC. This, contrary to so many other charting/trading tools which run at your PC and which becomes of vast importance with Auto Trading (yeah, as said, only available via IG). Your trades won't run on the loose when your PC stalls (or is shut off).
The same fact also causes the data feeds to run extremely lean. No in-PC math going on; only the showing of charts and lists.
Additionally to the above is the seamless integration of PRT with TWS (remember, IB's platform). Maybe PRT won't advise to you using both mixed, but I as a real user know it works perfectly. So you'd be using two platforms with each "best tools" at the same time. Or ...
Or make a virtual three platforms of that, when you'd also use your phone. Watch out now, because I am referring to IB's phone app which could be the best app I have ever seen (PRT also has an app for the phone, but we better skip that - but see ? you don't even need it because IB's app is there for you).
Anyway, envision you giving orders on the phone, instantly seeing the work out of that on your PRT screens; I seriously can't imagine anything more, well, nice. That's what it is, great and nice.

This company is awful
This company is awful! I did the trial and software seemed to work ok. A little later i decided to purchase the software and some live data, redownloaded the program and since then it just continously crashes on me. I litterly open the software and within seconds of me moving my mouse over it...boom, it crashes.
What make this even worse is that i can not get any support or speak to anyone about it either. Have tried emailing and telephoning and all i get is the same lady called Kerstin who seems to be the only person who works there and it not able to offer any suggestions apart from submit a technical query.
If you are a serious trader then the tools you use are everything. With crashing software and not being able to contact anyone who might be able to help......avoid this like the plague!

PROREALTIME IS AWESOME. Their customer service is fantastic and reliable. Their platform works for me and they have everything I need to trade. I have connected my ProRealTime to my IG account (Trading Broker), which has helped me a lot and given me more tools to use and trade. One problem I found after connecting my ProRealTime to my IG account is that I cant use multiple charts. Before connecting, I could have had multiple assets open. But now, I have to look at each chart separately. Might just be me, but I still love ProRealTime. I have recommended it to anyone I know that trades.
