Mis-selling poor grade willow

I or my wife (who is the sponsored county player this bat was intended for) would not recommend this brand moving forward. Being local and seeing lots of social media traction, we approached them for a sponsorship deal. Offered the standard 40% in line with other brands, which is perfectly fine. However the bat sent below was not of ‘pro grade’ quality (as paid for), with far too many grains and at best grade 3 willow. The stickers were wonky and the weight came in a lot heavier (2oz) than the specified weight ordered.

Subsequently found out from another member at my club that they had been offered 40% also for ‘positive social media posts’ for an equally poor piece of overweight willow. I worry they have either run out of good wood or think it is acceptable to market all their willow at ‘pro grade’ which is disingenuous and is potentially taking advantage of individuals who do not have the knowledge and experience of what a good bat looks like.

Update - in response to the below reply from Prophecy. Prophecy did have correspondence from us via email regarding this issue, where they agreed that the bat did not meet the specifications ordered (with a refund provided) and we were right to be concerned about the wood quality. Despite receiving a refund, an unacceptable level of product was received and therefore the 1 star is warranted.

Hi, Joe

I don’t believe we’ve had any communication from you or your wife. So it’s disappointing to see a negative review without addressing it with us first

We’re very clear about how we grade our bats - with blogs on our website and it’s surprising to hear you’re disappointed with too many grains…

We also offer full returns and refunds in line with our bat warranty policy. So you’d be welcome to return it for a full refund provided it’s unused. Or we could replace it for you.

Prophecy lack quality

I got the sponsorship with prophecy earlier this year which I was really excited about, and lead to me purchasing the bundle: bat, pads, gloves, and bag. The bat arrived with a poor finish, with parts of the bat not being polished leaving a rough finish. The toe guard and stickers were both done very poorly, and I wasn’t pleased with the bats overall quality. This led to me sending it back and paying for shipping (which I wasn’t overly fussed about). I then received a new bat within a reasonable amount of time, and once again the finish just seemed poor. I didn’t send this one back and it proved to be a mistake as when I used it in the nets dents started to appear on the bat itself. I then approached prophecy and they were unable to resolve this issue, which had stemmed from their lack of quality. Since then it’s been downhill 😔 the bags stitching/zips are starting to break already, the keeping gloves I ordered are unbelievably uncomfortable as well. Besides from all this negativity what I would say is that the pads and gloves are great and really comfortable, however spending all that money you’d expect all of the items to be up to scratch.
So in conclusion save yourself the hassle and disappointment, and don’t buy from Prophecy Cricket.

Bought an alleged 'pro grade' bat from…

Bought an alleged 'pro grade' bat from Prophecy cricket. OMG the bat had knots and filler on it. Never been so disappointed in a purchase. Returned it immediately and fortunately got a full refund despite being offered a 15% discount if I kept it.....Um. No thanks. Lesson learnt.

New Bat

Ordered a new bat from the guys at Prophecy following a recommendation and can't complain at all. Customer service is bang on and the quality of the bat is top. I have recommended to other people at my club and they are looking to order bats/gear.
