I ordered a single, straightforward, in stock item.
I needed it urgently before going away for two weeks where I needed to use it.
I specifically chose power tools direct (from several suppliers) because they offered a faster deliver option (premium delivery, AT EXTRA COST)
Order made online, early morning Wednesday 11th March 2026
Their delivery date range quoted as Friday 13th through Monday 16th March.
I needed it by lunchtime on Monday 16th.
FedEx tracking shows that shipment information was not even RECEIVED by FedEx UNTIL 48 hours later, the morning of Friday 13th, the first day of the expected delivery date range !
And yes, deliver did apparently JUST make the LAST date of that range, late afternoon.
By then, too late for me.
No point ordering a simple item, in stock, paying extra for express courier service, for it to arrive too late for use !!!
Why did it take ‘power tools direct’ more than 48 hours even to put the shipping info. through to FedEx, when the customer has paid extra for expedited delivery.
Will not order again from this company.

Nothing wrong with the product but Shocking customer service & extortionate postage charges of £6.95 that on both occasions of using this company take a week or more to be delivered.
Poor stock management and service
Took three days to inform me that one of the four items was not in stock. No offer to send it on separately once in stock; they were planning to still send the three items out, and presumably I'd have to pay twice for delivery to get the fourth item. I cancelled the entire order, not worth bothering with this sort of company.

Order placed online, after 2 weeks chased via email to see where they were. Advised we would receive a refund but no explanation given to why we didn't receive in the tools.
The amount refunded was less than what we paid, when this was queried we were told postage still charged although the correct address was given with proof of this sent. Bad attitude of lady on email, bad service, money lost even though no product received. Avoid at all costs!

Ordered some fence brackets with delivery promised in two days. Was also promised a confirmation email. No email received, money taken and no brackets delivered. I emailed to clarify but got an automated response saying they are busy and asking I don’t email again until I hear. I tried calling but each time I get a message that they’re unavailable before being cut off. Have had to source the brackets elsewhere as don’t want to let my customer down.

I decided to buy a heat weeder to avoid poisining the local wildlife. Keyed in "electric heat weeders" and decided to buy Batavia weeder from Power Tools Direct as price was ok and the sponsored link showed free delivery.Ordered but webpage said free delivery only for purchases above £250! I went ahead anyway paying £6,95 instead of £5,05 for fast delivery.
DX Freight Emailed to confirm a timed delivery and i remained near the front door but no delivery and then informed of "failed delivery" as I wasn't in. I have a loud doorbell, an intercom buzzer and a door knocker.
The following day the same named driver delivered the package and sais he had not tried to deliver previously and there had been no "failed delivery".
Power Tools have twice responded to my complaints simply saying free delivery is only available over £250 and still missing the point that the sponsored link showed free delivery.

Could have been packed better.
The package didn't survive Royal Mail. There were two boxes of nails loose in a Jiffy bag. The Bag was open by the time it got to me and the boxes were damaged but luckily, it doesn't look as if any of the nails had escaped.

Power Tools Direct "Not recommended if you want proper customer service"
Ordered ok but they charged for delivery when their listing says FOC.
No order acknowledgment received by email so I tried to ring them. "Sorry but the person you are calling is not available - goodbye". Sent an email but no reply so rang again. This time it rang for a minute and then cut off with no opportunity to leave a message. I guess they are so overwhelmed with complaints they are in hiding! It remains to be seen if I ever receive the item but as they use DX I'm not holding my breath. DX along with "late Evry time" are the worst. Wish I had read your reviews before ordering. I feel a credit card claim coming on.............
Update.
To be fair the item has now arrived on the 27th but not particularly well packed and no paperwork. Also, still no contact from PTD so my conclusion;
Good price but don't be fooled by the no carriage charge logo on the front page.

COULDNT CARE LESS!
Ordered 4 Gardening tools advertised as in stock and 48 hours delivery at a cost of £17, after a week I enquired about my order and was told there was a delay on one item, another week later nothing, never sent out what they did have and zero communication.
I asked to be refunded, they are doing and their attitude is they really don’t care!!
I wouldn’t bother, they might advertise cheaper but service is atrocious.
