Great customer service but really disappointed with the food. We visited Pizza Express because our child loves it but we could get much better pizza elsewhere. My pizza was soft (only just cooked) and... See more

£60 and they don't even have their own delivery drivers
£60 and they don't even have delivery drivers ready and waiting - I could see mine coming from miles away an hour after I ordered my pizza. Outsourcing to uber was a mistake. Not using them again.

Pure Greed!

Fleet branch poor service and burnt…
Ordered from the Fleet branch this evening. First of all it took 1h15m for delivery. Uber Eats turned up to the restaurant 4 times to pick up the order and it wasn’t ready. Then when it arrive 3 out of the 4 orders were badly burnt. Really poor service and quality. Will not order from pizza express again.
Pizza Express Farnham
The food and experience was horrendous and the ambience dreadful. The acoustics and shouting screaming kids running out of control was dire. There should be an area carved out for families. As for the food…..I ordered a lasagne. It arrived and was nothing short of pig slop. I was compelled to send it back immediately and reorder. How they had the audacity to serve that to me I do not know.
Me and my sister went to Pizza Express Banbury
Me and my sister went to Pizza Express in Banbury today and it was fabulous. We haven’t been for a while because we weren’t very satisfied the last time we went but today was great. The staff were brilliant, helpful, courteous, humourous, the food was good and the weather was the icing on the cake. Lucy was our waitress and she was extremely helpful and gave great advice for choices. So just wanted to say Thank you Pizza Express in Banbury.
Rude service and wouldn’t recommend…
Rude service and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. The pizza express restaurant in question was in Southgate. Had a booking but were turned away. My daughter had booked this restaurant for the family (14 of us) as a surprise for her birthday. However, upon arrival was told no tables available even though a) there were plenty in the back corner b) showed the booking reservation.
The manager flatly refused to serve us or acknowledge the booking stating over and over no space. Even though we pointed to the spare tables. It was difficult to discuss with someone who was unwilling to listen and kept stating nothing available that we left and looked for another restaurant which accommodated us at the last minute. It is a shame that I cannot give this zero stars.
Staff at Pizza Express nice but don't know about Birthday offers eg dessert
Staff at Pizza Express Morningside Edinburgh very nice but knew not a jot about your birthday dessert offers so i gave up on it since they did not go the extra mile about it ! You maybe need to train them up re these offers a bit !
Rude waitress calls me a liar & won’t back down
Visited Pizza Express Portsmouth (Gunwharf) at 12:00 on 2 May 2025 & we were the only people there at first.
I ordered my dish using the phrase "no white sauce, just the tomato sauce please".
The dish arrived with white sauce, which I queried politely & reminded her that I had in fact said "no white sauce". I did ask what was in it, in order to at least explore the possibility of eating what I hadn't ordered, but was not willing to do so after she showed me the packaging and I saw it contained butter. She said that I should have "said that I was vegan" (even though I am not).
The waitress (medium height, slim, red/dark hair, possibly Eastern European accent) first said she had misunderstood this because there were 2 similar dishes.
She then changed her mind and said several times "no, you did not say that" which she repeated dogmatically several times despite my politely correcting her that I did but that I could understand how she misunderstood.
Eventually she snapped "no, you did not say that, but I will remake it" before flouncing off while looking daggers at me.
I was not about to eat what came back considering what unmentionable thing may have been done to it, so I paid for the food I did not eat, then went upstairs to Wagamama where I was treated with civility and grace.
Never before have I been treated so rudely. Totally uncalled for. At least now I understand why the place was empty.
Not sure what has happened to the basic premise of customer service being to treat the customer as if they are right (or at least give them the benefit of the doubt). Clearly the staff are not trained for the customer facing aspects of the job.
Tip to the company - even if you are convinced the customer is lying, a polite way to respond is "I did not hear you say that", not repeatedly call them a liar to their face.
Receipt is time stamped 12:47, table 11 & account 6037 (note that the waitress who generated the bill was not the rude waitress who took our order and is the subject of this review).
Also: bring back screw top bottles for Appletiser. The switch to cans is shameful.
Dorking. Heating on in a heat wave!
Dorking pizza express. Hottest weekend in may ever, and the central heating was on, and they can't even open the windows.
Climate wise it's poor. Great service, nice food but next to raging radiators. Very weird, as in why are you paying for this together with the obvious complaints that will follow? There's always rialtos in Dorking. for pizza
Awful experience
WE have always used PIzza Express over the last 20 years, so we went in knowing what to expect... how wrong we were. AVOID this restuarant.
FIRSTLY - told that only two tables by the entrance door were free as other zones have been closed for the eveining..at 7pm?? Several tables purposely left dirty while 4 serving staff chatted..
SECONDLY - we ordered two Fiorentina as its one of our favourites, awful - barely warm, sparce toppings and no offer of parmesan or pepper (when asked the reply was you didin't ask for it..). We have had better "essential" frozen pizzas from Aldi...
FINALLY - last straw.. Constantly Just Eat bikers opening both doors and standing in the doorway letting the cold wind in waiting for the staff to stop chatting and attend. I had to TWICE ask them to close the door..
Pizza Express if this is your business POOR SERVICE, POOR FOOD AND PRIORITISE DELIVERY.. YOU NEED TO RETHINK..

I waited over half an hour for my food and nothing happened. I walked out.
Pathetic Pizzas
Two different pizzas ordered. Both almost cold, very thin and dried up toppings.
Never used Pizza Express before and never will again.
£40 order not worth a penny.
Refund requested.

TGTG: Cynical Marketing Ploy
Jane
Your response still doesn't explain or clarify why Pizza Express is allowed to charge £4.95 for three small starters. Also had no choice to choose from starters or one main meal. Your Client, Pizza Express, set a high price of £4.95 for essentially waste food which is an Outrage to customers like myself and diminishes TGTG's Raison d'Etre.
TGTG's food offers are just another cynical marketing ploy to squeeze profit from leftover food by greedy restaurants rather than genuinely reducing food waste by re- distributing to consumers at nominal prices if not for free. Clearly never the case from this experience. I, family and friends will AVOID Pizza Express and TGTG App like the plague!!!

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Ordered from pizza express in Jesmond Newcastle. Pizza took 1 hour to arrive, it was cold and ALMOST RAW. Not to mention they got my order completely wrong despite only buying 1 pizza. The sauce dip is ridiculous, 75p for enough dip for 2 slices.
Abhorrent, strongly advise to stay away.
Very, very disappointed
Very, very absolutely very disappointed, ordered on just eat, pizza was cold, burned , hard, dry , rubbery , never eat such a bad pizza from them , I ordered from Plymouth brach apparently leisure Center, not cheap for being so bad , so very upset and disappointed was looking forward to it , I managed to eat some I was hungry but my partner couldn’t
I am fairly sure that Pizza Express…
I am fairly sure that Pizza Express lost a lot of future customers because of deceptive 60th pizza anniversary (scam) day.
I expected a long queue but I wanted to try Pizza Express because everywhere they said it’s their 60th anniversary with cheap promotional pizzas.
The promotion described in newspapers and online media was simple. If your order was made within 5-6pm, 27 March, your promotional pizza would be discounted.
I went Oxford branch in the centre. SURPRISINGLY, there was no queue at all. Actually the ground floor was totally empty and the light was out. So I saw one customer went away. But when I opened the door, their first floor was open but only lesr than half full. Strange but I felt lucky with my whole family.
Who didn’t want almost free pizzas?
But I realised very quickly their promotion was scam and they had no intention on selling pizzas within 5-6pm. As I mentioned above, the ground floor was empty, and the first floor was half taken at 5:20pm. But no member came to us. I grabbed a member of staff and asked if we can have a table. But she said simply ‘no’. No more explanation whatsoever so I asked why we couldn’t get seats. She said the reservation was fully booked. BUT no one asked us whether we had a reservation in that empty restaurant from our entry. If they were really fully booked, why didn’t they come to us whether we booked a table when they saw us? This is just not my experience. They never asked newly appearing customers whether they booked. I stayed there 2-3 mins including our team I saw 3 other teams coming in. But why the restaurant, which claimed to be fully booked, was nearly empty? The guests all arranged their coming shortly before the promotion is over? Again, the promotion was to be only applied orders between 5-6pm according to the terms. This is not possible for the empty restaurant without any queue at 5.23 saying the reservation is full and suddenly the restaurant becomes full then they could take orders for everybody!! Ridiculous and dishonest. You shouldn't have deceived people this way. Before today, there was no good or bad opinion about Pizza Express. But from today. I have lots of things to talk about Pizza Express’ short sighted scam that makes customers away! Disgusting and insulting.
London, Bexleyheath branch
The bill came to over £200. We felt cheated! We booked a table for 8 on a Saturday afternoon for an adult birthday lunch. Despite the restaurant being fairly quiet with lots of empty tables at the bright, attractive front we were allocated a table right at the relatively dingy back of the restaurant close to the toilets. We had to wait some time to be greeted and seated. Drinks and starters order was taken fairly quickly. But delivered very slowly. Our pizzas took a very long time to arrive yet they were overcooked if not slightly burnt, with yolks in two fiorentina pizzas ordered rock hard (we weren't asked how we wanted them). To add insult to injury me and another of our party had a "free side dish" offer in our pizza express apps. When I tried to use mine all that was offered was an insulting free side of extra garlic butter valued at *75p* instead of the free side of our choice that we thought had been promised. The other person was unable to use their offer due to poor mobile phone signal. The meal took so long to be delivered that we did not bother ordering more drinks or dessert. I got the impression that the restaurant was short of staff. We were very disappointed overall.
