Permanent TSB keeps advertising their “upgraded services” and “new app features” but for the past few days I can’t even make a simple bank transfer! Every time I try to enter an amount, I get an error... See more

Don't bother!
The app is down again - just before a 2 day Bank Holiday weekend. No information about when it might be possible to log in from "Customer Service" ( twice this morning, after long waiting times.....) I'm not sure there is much point continuing with this bank.
Help with my accounts
Visit yesterday to my local TSB to sort out online banking problem. Sorted Then meeting to sort out my outdated savings accounts.Thank you Fraserburgh branch
stay well away ...
stay well away ....rang this morning to get last three months statements of our account ....after OVER 30 minutes on the phone ...mostly listening to someones idea of muzak...and answering 'security' questions that iv never even been asked to access open 24 i was told that i FAILED !!!!!the security test and they coudnt send out the statements ... .just a nightmare to deal with ...in contrast rang EBS to do same .....three minutes on the phone and statements are on their way too us ... mind you its likewise in local branch offices ..actual staff in the EBS ..who somehow remember your name and ALWAYS greet you with smile and ''what can we do for you today Frank'' really is incredible that still happens considering in local ptsb branch its mostly (try)serve yourself with one staff(or agency)person there who doesnt know anyone coming through the door . ..
Stay away worst bank ever
Stay away worst bank ever to deal with, impossible to speak to anyone on the phone.
Very hard to do any business with plenty of other banks don’t use this one.
This Ptsb branch in Tallaght…
This Ptsb branch in Tallaght discriminates against foreigners. They refuse to open them accounts. I completed a form online and was asked to bring my ID to the branch. I have checked the website and all the documents that can be used as proof of ID and Address. I took four papers: two proofs of ID and two proofs of address. Only one form of ID and one Address is required, but I went the extra mile by knowing how they are. This staff (male) did photocopies and told me I would get a confirmation in 3 days. He did not give me any letter or account number. He even asked me my UK address even though I have relocated to Dublin. I can't wait to hear the excuse they would give me. It's disgusting how they treat people just because of the colour of their skin. They did the same to my black friend. She took her passport and bank statement from another bank and was told to return to the branch in three days with the same document, only to be told she couldn't open an account because she already had another bank. They are racist in Tallaght and avoid them by all means if you are a foreigner.
Rude with false sense of power
This guy from the lending department decided to reject my application for a 5000 loan for home improvements, during a phone call, because he wasn't convinced that I had correctly calculated the budget for this project.
A 5000 loan was rejected because of this and only this reason. Through a phone call.
I'm still processing what I witnessed here....
Cash ISA for the aging technophobe.
Having spent the weekend sweating about how to invest in a Cash ISA (and who to invest with) and having 5% internet ability, I drove across Sheffield to the TSB Meadowhall branch. Being a long-term TSB current account holder, it seemed natural to seek help there. I spent a quality half-hour with Chris Walker who was able to see me immediately, without an appointment. Chris talked me through the varied options regarding Cash ISAs. His clear, friendly advice, especially regarding the limited ability I had to navigate my own phone App, made it possible to set up my ISA without delay. I am looking forward to another visit next month to invest further funds with Chris. Thank you TSB.
Apparently my custom is important to…
Apparently my custom is important to them! But they never answer the phone. All automated. Even the branch only has machines, the desk was closed ages ago. Two young lads scurry around but can't answer any questions......just tell you to phone...wait for it... THE HELPLINE!! You couldn't make it up.
Attempting for the last week or so to…
Attempting for the last week or so to reset a password. Impossible to get to speak to a human being. Being run around in circles by an automated system. In the most recent attempt, I wasted 20 min. Was asked to I put security details on five different occasions and gave up trying. Dreadful service.
Excellent Anti-Fraud Team
Have never had any issues with the bank itself, though I'll admit I went to AIB for the mortgage and home upgrade loan, as the application process was smoother.
Recently had a major issue with what seems to have been a POS skimmer that cloned my debit card. A number of transactions were made with the cloned debit card and the fraud team were on it almost immediately.
I lost about 500 euro in total. 2 days later and they've managed to reverse all of the damage.
Definitely wasn't expecting that. Was glad enough they were quick to get the card frozen.
Really excellent job. I'll definitely remember this.

Takes days for your correct cc balance to show. Very frustrating.
Absolute worst back I have been with…
Absolute worst bank I have been with uselessly in every way
Worst bank ever!
Worst bank ever!
I have no patience to describe everything what happen with them in last year. Everything is visible in other costumers reviews. Disgrace!
Good bye PTSB!
Witnessed an elderly relative on hold…
Witnessed an elderly relative on hold this morning for over 50 minutes trying to speak to someone in their card centre / hotline to report a lost / stolen card.
A very courteous, professional and helpful staff member but a 50 minute wait is appalling, unacceptable and unprofessional.
Totally useless customer service and…
Totally useless customer service and rude on top of that? Takes months to sort out even the smallest of issues.
Does PTSB have any staff on fraud helpline
Third attempt to report fraud and no answer after an extended period. Gave up twice, trying again. This is unusual

I would like to compliment the help my son received from Matt Pritchard that he has had help from several times that I have been there on appointments. Matt helped straight away and understood the problems my son was having, he made things so much easy with all the details he gave us. I appreciate the calmness and care he gave and sorted things out for my son. Thankyou.

Well F uped
Well. where to start now?... probable with core, Ptsb started to charge fees on current accounts some time ago, may be it is ok this days, but I have difficulty to understand why fee is so high! It was long time for me to plan for other options as I never had a single problem with Ptsb, It means, I had not much chance to find out gray corridors of them doing business as i learned they do today... I called only one phone number available to make appointment with my local branch( Newbridge, co Kildare). After explaining that I would like to open (Strangely) savings account with Ptsb (no fees- I believe apart of DIRT) and to close current account so I asked over phone to get appointment, where girl told me that it is not needed, just to pop in the branch. I insisted for appointment, but was assured, it is not needed. Ok, Day Two went to my branch ( Newbridge, co Kildare).. Lovely Girl in reception told me to EfEfff, as appointment is needed... Great, Ok, swallowed wasted time and made appointment for other day. Other day comes, popped in and got this lovely blond female employee in mid age with no name badge visible, (I will work out her name soon to make sure she has chance to review her customer service style)
First stumble upon:
What is your query - Me - not sure, need to figure out best in my case... Okay, follow me, but I can not leave reception, no one there to cover me... can I leave door open... Me -Ok, no problem.
Second stumble upon:
What would you like to do. Me- I'm not happy with current account fees so would like to close it but possibly would like to open savings account...Boldy- what you mean? If you do work are you doing it free?... ( Something that way) Me- Credit Union is free, Revolut is free for basic account...Boldy- do they do direct debits or wages or whatever?...Me Yes they do and it is free with them...
Third stumble upon:
I tried to tell what I have researched in Ptsb website regarding different savings accounts ( I had printout of therms etc i'm interested) when Boldy just said " LET ME TALK " and kept telling things that I was not much interested in and had to confront as my research was in contradiction what Boldy was saying.
Final stumble upon:
Boldy said-Ok let's open thus accounts as I am running out of time, I'm finishing 4 o clock ( It was approx 3:30) Me- is there someone else to speak with? ... some more BS there, I realy HOPE video cameras record sound as I can not imagine Directors of Ptsb would like this stuff going on.
I have apointment now for other day, with other girl there, fingers crossed now! But regarding Boldy - complaint is on the way!!! Regarding Ptsb, about 20 years with and get this?... Once off, or look @ other reviews?... I must be optimist......
Awful bank, poorest customer service.
Awful bank, poorest customer service - Total amateurs, PTSB's main priorities is to prove their Customers that they are always wrong.
After banking with PTSB for 20 + years, it has become obvious that their standards are in a catastrophic free fall down spiral...
In the last 3 years, there have been numerous blunders caused by PTSB.
To only name one, I lodged a cheque (from a Govt. institution) and it took 4 weeks to be cleared - when at the teller desk I was assured it will be only 4 days.
When logging complaints with PTSB's own CS, they took three weeks to investigate and reply to me that was nothing wrong with PTSB service, which was "as per standard procedure".
Now, perplexingly, they decided to close my accounts, no explanation, as if I am some dr8gl0rd or local smugl3r. Neve been in overdraft, never bounced any payments. No rational conversation is possible with PTSB.
Disappointing at all levels.
