US Pays More, Conversion rates do Not match
I would give Penelope Chilvers 5 Stars for all the boots, shoes, espadrilles and sandals I have purchased over the past several years. But would give PC a negative 5 stars for charging Americans more money for the same items. I recently visited the UK, purchased items from a PC store, returned to the US, ordered a daughter a pair of ghillies and discovered PC is not charging the exact conversion rate from pounds to US dollars---- on any of the items PC sells. Sorry but I have to wonder why. Politics? Repulsion towards Americans? Seriously, i could afford a discount round-trip ticket to Europe for the price difference I paid for my beloved PC footwear.

I ordered the pair of flat honey espadrilles. They are fabulous. I have quite wide feet and they fitted me perfectly. I want another pair in a different colour. My new go to for summer.

Quality Company
Not only does Penelope Chilvers have wonderful quality and very fashionable with an understated elegance, they also have great customer care.
I have put their customer service to the test and they did not disappoint!
Poor quality boots
In 2024 I got 3 pairs of Doma Leather Boots in 3 colours, black, brown and brown suede.
Suede boots - on one of the boots pull loop got torn off the first time I tried to put the boots on.
Brown leather boots - worn occasionally, soles starting coming off after 3 months.
Black leather boots - worn the most frequently, soles started coming off after about 6 months.
I would expect quality to be much better from a designer like Penelope Chilvers and for boots at that price range.
I can’t comment on customer service, but the product quality is disappointing.

Sub - standard boots
My husband bought me some boots and we had return them as the zip on one of the boots wasn’t straight ad the top of both boots was squashed .We had no apology and to add insult to injury they changed £5 for returning them.
Not the standard I would expect .

Long Tassel Boots + Customer Support
As I'm from Germany, I wrote to the support team to double-check the fit etc.
Based on the sometimes less than ideal ratings from the support team, I was expecting a longer waiting time etc..
However, I was pleasantly surprised:
Kimberly replied to me quickly, in detail and meaningfully = thank you
The order was placed.
There was a small inconsistency with DHL / customs / import to Germany.
I then sent an e-mail to Customer Support. This was also dealt with immediately and the response was prompt (Hirah Shah).
Hirah also contacted me again afterwards to check that everything had gone well.
Many thanks to the great support team (in my case: Kimberly and Hirah Shah).
A small note for shipping to third countries / customs countries = please provide the exact description of the items (intended use, quality, material and commercial designation) on the delivery bill / invoice including customs tariff number, otherwise it will not work optimally with the third country / customs 😊.
Long tassel boots:
The look and feel, as well as the material and workmanship, are very high quality.
As Penelope recommended in the video, I rubbed the boots with the leather cream after trying them on.
The size is the same - they are a little bit bigger, but as I generally insert a sole (winter = lambskin sole / summer = leather sole), the boots fit perfectly.
Now I wear the boots and they fit / nestle more and more to my foot from day to day.
Leather boots just want to be worn in 😊
