ParkLet was launched in 2004 to offer an alternative to traditional parking. Parking had, and continues to, become ever more expensive and more difficult to find. Congestion and traffic is on the increase, whilst the government actively discourages the provision of parking spaces to try and encourage people out of their cars and onto crumbling public transport. The founder members had noticed unused private parking spaces in areas where parking was in high demand. ParkLet was created to offer an effective marketplace and management service for the letting of these parking spaces and garages. Over the years the team has grown, and our systems evolved to enable us to become the UK’s leading agent for parking spaces and garages. We currently have in excess of 20,000 spaces advertised to let, across the whole of the UK. Our Landlords include residential clients with a single space, as well as most of the national car park companies and councils, and most things in between. Our aim moving forwards is to remain completely focused on contract parking and garages, and continue to invest in our systems and staff so that we can offer our customers an ever improving experience.

Mediocre customer support

Mediocre customer support. As a long term seeker/tenant, they would straight away cancel my booking application if the landlord isn’t immediately picking up the phone call from them.

When a booking request is submitted, we do attempt to contact the landlord promptly to confirm availability. If we’re unable to reach them within a short window, the request may be cancelled to avoid leaving tenants waiting on uncertain availability. The intention is to keep things moving quickly and prevent funds or plans being tied up unnecessarily.

That said, we understand this can feel abrupt, especially as a long-term tenant, and we’re continuously reviewing how we balance speed with flexibility. Your feedback is helpful and will be taken on board as we look to improve this process.

Total ineptitude and lies

I cancelled my contract with Parklet in August 2024 as I was getting very few bookings and it wasn't worth the bother. On Christmas eve morning someone rang my doorbell at about 5am. I had no intention of answering the door to a stranger at that time, so looked out of the window to see a very large, silver Mercedes people carrier outside my house. This was parked so that it obscured the view of oncoming traffic when my husband was reversing out of the drive.
I phoned Parklet later that day and was told by a man I was not on their books and they had no knowledge of this. He took the car number and said he would ring back. He did and said it was nothing to do with them and I was not on their books anymore.
Today I get an email from Naomi Standen who asked could she cancel the charge as the space was not available! I said I was no longer on their books and had received no email warning of this. She said an email was sent -it WASN'T - and I was deleted from their books AFTER this booking.
I asked who was lying her or the man I spoke to as I was told completely different things, but of course got not proper reply.
I would use another company if I were you!

Parklet made a booking for my space

Parklet made a booking for my space , then a day after it started said it had been cancelled by the driver and they would not pay.

I lost booking because of this company,

Outrageous and a scam of a company. Do not use parklet

We’re sorry to hear how frustrating this situation has been, and we understand why it’s caused concern.

To clarify, when a booking is cancelled by a driver shortly after the start date, it will only be processed in line with the agreed terms on the platform. We do not cancel bookings arbitrarily, and we certainly do not benefit from doing so. Our role is to facilitate the agreement fairly between both parties.

That said, we recognise the impact this can have on space owners, particularly where availability has been reserved and then released again. We’re continually reviewing how cancellations are handled to ensure the balance is right for both landlords and tenants.

Parklet are a scam

Parklet are not good.

They confirmed a week long booking and then a day into the booking , way after the normal cancellation period, Parket said the driver has cancelled and refused to pay me

They also take significant amounts of money as commission from the driveway owner.

To clarify, if a driver cancels shortly after a booking has started, it is handled in line with the platform’s agreed terms. We don’t cancel bookings arbitrarily or withhold payments without reason. That said, we fully understand how disruptive this is for space owners who have reserved availability and may have turned away other enquiries.

Car overstayed and no response from ParkLet

I have had to remove my space from the site following a negative first experience. I did not receive email notification about the booking beforehand and was therefore surprised when someone I wasn’t expecting parked on my driveway.
The car overstayed its booking period and is still parked on my driveway. I was not provided with the driver’s contact details and the reply from ParkLet merely provided me with a booking confirmation and did not address the fact that the car is still parked beyond the booking period. I am still waiting for a response and expect compensation for the additional hours. This has been a significant inconvenience as I have AirBnB guests booked into the property who have paid for use of the parking space.

This is not the experience we want for our hosts. You should always receive clear notification of bookings in advance, and a vehicle remaining beyond its booked period should be addressed promptly by our team.

In terms of contact details, we do keep communication on-platform to protect both parties, but in situations like this where a vehicle has overstayed, we should be actively intervening to resolve it — not simply sending confirmation details.

Please contact us directly as a priority with the booking reference if you haven’t already, and we will escalate this immediately to resolve the overstay and review appropriate compensation for the additional time your space has been occupied.

Nobody has come back to retrieve their…

Nobody has come back to retrieve their car and so I have an old car abandoned in my driveway and didn’t get any help or full payment. They don’t seem to have a way to ensure the car is removed or that I get any further Payne t for the space being taken up.

My booked space wasn’t available when I arrived

I booked a space via Parklet for a space whilst visiting a University Open day, as no parking was available at the Uni or Accommodation, there were 6 spaces available at the one location so I paid my £14 and set off the following morning using the Postcode supplied.

I was more than disappointed when I arrived to find all the spaces were full, and a second customer also trying to figure out what had happened. After phoning the Company I was told the home owner had phoned earlier that day that none of the 7 spaces were available.

I was refunded my complete purchase price but I have given them a 3 star as this simply shouldn’t happen, I needed parking, the spaces were advertised and I booked one. Parklet need to set up processes so that spaces are checked ongoing to make sure they are available.

Meanwhile for me I had to find other parking, in a City, where I hadn’t been to before, and thousands of other parents had descended to also on the same day and had already/were finding car park spaces as well

In this case, the issue arose because the homeowner notified us on the day that the spaces were no longer available, which is not how the platform is intended to work. We rely on hosts to keep availability accurate, but we also recognise the need for stronger safeguards to prevent situations like this.

While we’re glad we were able to issue a full refund promptly, we fully appreciate that this didn’t solve the immediate problem you faced — particularly in an unfamiliar city on a high-demand day.

Your feedback is very helpful, and we are actively looking at ways to improve verification and reduce the likelihood of last-minute cancellations like this.
