Information provided by various external sources

ParkLet was launched in 2004 to offer an alternative to traditional parking. Parking had, and continues to, become ever more expensive and more difficult to find. Congestion and traffic is on the increase, whilst the government actively discourages the provision of parking spaces to try and encourage people out of their cars and onto crumbling public transport. The founder members had noticed unused private parking spaces in areas where parking was in high demand. ParkLet was created to offer an effective marketplace and management service for the letting of these parking spaces and garages. Over the years the team has grown, and our systems evolved to enable us to become the UK’s leading agent for parking spaces and garages. We currently have in excess of 20,000 spaces advertised to let, across the whole of the UK. Our Landlords include residential clients with a single space, as well as most of the national car park companies and councils, and most things in between. Our aim moving forwards is to remain completely focused on contract parking and garages, and continue to invest in our systems and staff so that we can offer our customers an ever improving experience.

Withholding money owed to me. Refusing to pay what is owed.

My advice.....Just use another parking provider. Its easier and cheaper. I've had no end of issues with Parklet. The continual emails demanding more money from me for a service that is not fit for purpose. They are withholding £150 for a months service for a space that does not meet the specifications it was advertised. Theyre now fining me £10 per day for nothing, stating they will be taking it off of my deposit, against my will. If youve had an experience with a company and its got so bad, you just want them out of your life. This is what I am going through with Parklet now. This is extortion. It shouldnt be legal.

Hi James,

We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about your experience. Throughout your tenancy, we worked extensively with both yourself and the space owner to try and resolve the ongoing issues relating to the security gate, which was managed by the building management company and unfortunately outside of both ParkLet’s and the owner’s direct control.

We can see from our records that previous concessions were made during your tenancy, including a rent-free period and a further goodwill reduction offered by the owner following the later gate issues. The parking space itself remained accessible throughout the agreement, which is why the final contractual payment remained due in line with the agreed notice period.

In relation to the deposit and key fob, deductions were only discussed after the key had not been returned by the contract end date.

We do appreciate your frustration regarding the gate faults and delays in resolution, and we are sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations. However, we do not agree that the situation has been handled unfairly or unlawfully, as we have continued communicating throughout in an effort to reach a resolution for all parties involved.

If you would still like to discuss the matter further, please contact us directly and we would be happy to assist further.

Parklet - one and only choice for me

Who enjoys dealing with parking matters in general, local council, companies providing parking solutions of any kind, fines, impoundment and clamping? Not me

About Parklet: never heard of them before, until 2 weeks ago. Out of extreme situation i was forced into, i was checking all available solutions possible. Randomly came across Parklet, and it immediately impressed me.

Their user interface, such a dream to use 10/10
The mobile app 9/10
The process itself - 10/10
Their team - 10+/10 I had the pleasure to connect with Will - what a legend and a STAR, above and beyond, AND he also conducted a follow-up call. I truly value the efforts and the user first type of approach Parklet provide

1st time ever - best ever parking experience I had ever had!

I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a solutions, instead of the chance to have an agreement for the argument sake 😆

Honestly, the contracts, process flow, the accessibility, the communication, the professionalism, the software, check them out and let me know if I was wrong - I am genuine level 6, almost 7 Google guide member, trusted reviewer

Will - Legenden 🤝🏻

Fantastic Company, brilliant team and excellent service

In a world of mediocrity, what a pleasure it is to find a company and team that deliver beyond expectations. Parklet are brilliant and both Tom and Will were fantastic. Thank you both and would highly recommend anyone to use this company.

Read The Fine Print

Read The Fine Print - The owner of the parking space can cancel your request at any time with no cost to themself, you just get a refund. Therefore you cannot rely on these spaces for anything important. I would avoid this and go to the more established providers with more spaces on their website.

For context - my wife needed a parking space for going to work while she was in her 3rd Trimester of pregnancy. They cancelled 4 days before the let was originally due to start (despite being booked for over a month).

Thank you for your feedback. This is indeed an area of exposure that is very difficult to completely reduce to zero. It is very rare, and any Landlords that prove unreliable are removed from our listings. Each space owner has a quality / reliability score to help manage this.

Watch out for cancellation terms

Good service but watch out for the cancellation terms, they have left us paying for a space we don't need for 6 weeks.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes we do require 1 clear months notice for cancellation on our long term rolling contracts that attract the lowest rental rates - this is a market norm, and we believe is fair for both sides - anything shorter exposes our tenants & hosts to very short term cancellation. If you require a space for a set period you can book it for a fixed period with a set cancellation date at the outset.

My space, costs in favour to them 70/30

I advertised a space on my driveway at £100 per month, when I got a booking, the fees, commission, VAT and other fees equate to £70 so I get £30 from that £100. These fees, commission and charges are in place every new contract so if you get 12 bookings a year, that’s £30x12=£360, they get £70x12=£840, so out of £1200 as the space owner, I only get £360 and they get £840 just for advertising your space on a website.
If you get someone buying 12 months, then the second month and following months are minus the commission of around £30 but as an owner of the space, you can dictate 12 months but you can’t force it and most people don’t want a space for more than a month unless you’re within a commute location.

I questioned these fees and I was told ‘Costs are in the terms and conditions’, as good as saying ‘tough luck’ and ‘get lost’ and showed no empathy for the shortfall a parking space owner gets.
Not the sort of company I want to work with so I pulled my space and cancelled advertising with them

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear you feel that way. Our commission rates and fees are either on par or better than all of our competitors. There is not a single area we charge any more. Our commission rate on long term contracts is 20% plus vat, so on a £100 contract you would receive £76 per month. In addition there is a one off set up fee of £37.50 plus vat which we deduct from the first month’s rent rather than ask you to pay it up front. So month 1 you would receive £31, and every month thereafter the full £76. Our commission of £20 plus vat (£24) is less than half the £50 you quote. In addition we are very happy to add minimum contract terms of any period you seek, but obviously this makes your listing less attractive.

Disaster

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience—still ongoing—has been one of the worst I’ve ever had. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the situation itself may not be entirely their fault. However, the level of service they are providing is simply unacceptable.

Over the past week, I have made multiple attempts to contact them—calls, voicemails, and emails—and have only managed to speak to someone once. Despite clearly explaining how urgent and serious the situation is, there has been little to no sense of accountability or care from their side.

Based on this experience, I would not consider using their service again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration it has caused. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we understand how disappointing it must be, especially given the urgency you described.

While some situations can be complex and occasionally outside of our immediate control, such as this, our communication should never fall short. I believe that this situation has been discussed with the Office Manager and a conclusion reached.

Your feedback has been taken on board and we will ensure that this does not happen again in the future.
