The atmosphere was lovely
The atmosphere was lovely. The photographer was very encouraging and made conversation to make me feel more at ease. It was very professional and the pictures tuned out great! The wait in between the photos being taken and the evaluation was slightly long, but it was a Saturday so I understand that it was busy! The woman evaluting my pictures was very kind and patient and very praising and well as giving constructive feedback.

One star is generous!
One star is generous! In January 2023 I went into the studio for a photoshoot and paid over a grand for a package deal and was hoping for work. I understand work isn’t always guaranteed but I have heard nothing.
I called back after 3 years asking for a refund giving the prosess time, the manager was very rude and kept interrupting me wouldn’t recommend at all stay away

To clarify, New Idol Models does not guarantee modelling work, and this is clearly explained both verbally and within our terms and conditions before any client proceeds. Our services provide professional portfolio development, guidance and agency introductions where suitable — but work opportunities are ultimately dependent on market demand, agencies and individual suitability.
We also want to address the timeline mentioned. Requesting a refund three years after a completed service falls outside of our refund policy, as the photoshoot and portfolio package were fully delivered at the time.
That said, we never intend for any client to feel unheard. If you would like to email our head office directly with your full details, we’re more than happy to review your file and ensure everything was handled correctly.

Yep… it’s a SCAM…
So after a pressured call I stupidly paid my £50…. Less than an hour later I cancelled everything…. Had a reply to my text (& I’ve followed up with 3 emails!!) to say all will be refunded … yet surprise surprise… NOTHING & NO reply to my emails …
After reading all the reviews I see this as a scam you are flattered into being ‘fast tracked’ due to your looks…& then as I had no portfolio (-well at 60 why would I?!!!) they want £500 upwards for one that is taken on that day…. Luckily I came to my senses before I attended…. I will pursue my £50 through legal channels if necessary…. I’m not that much of a fool….
So if there is anyone from the company reading this…. Please refund my money ASAP!!

Update … today I’ve received a call from ‘Sarah’ trying to get me ti change my mind. I told her I did nit want to continue the conversation as my mind was made up & I ended the call. She then rang back 4 times- I declined each call & then 4 hrs later she had tried again. ThisI now consider harassment… so please be warned!!

I had an incredible experience at New Idol Manchester. The studio is very well equipped and perfectly located in the heart of the city. The whole team were professional, welcoming and made me feel completely at ease.
A big thank you to Mario, the photographer, who was fantastic on the day, and to Rebecca who helped guide me through my decisions. The aftercare team have been amazing supporting me every step of the way and really helping to ease my nerves.

New idol is a scam. The photo shoot was rushed and then you're taken into an office and peer pressured to spend from £500 to £4000 for a portfolio, then if you don’t sign up there and then your photos are deleted. You are also told there is a refundable £50 deposit which you don’t get back.

• There is absolutely no obligation to purchase any portfolio package. Clients are shown their images and given full pricing transparency before making any decision.

Shameful scam
This is purely a selling ploy. I asked about hidden costs and was told only the £50 refundable booking fee and would be referred to agencies but after waiting 2hrs after the shoot to see my photos I was told they would only refer if I paid for a £500-£2500 package. I chose 3 photos instead of my refund as I will use them to send to reputable agents. Not at all professional and just basic hair and makeup…don’t waste your time or money.

Memorable Photoshoot with a Few Important Things to Know
I recently shot with New Idol Model after coming across their requirement for older-age models through a social media promotion, and decided to give it a try.
To begin with, the team was very prompt in responding and confirming the appointment. However, on the first scheduled day, when I reached the studio, I realised they had forgotten to book me in. Unfortunately, this resulted in a wasted trip. My advice to anyone booking a shoot is to call the day before your appointment to reconfirm. You should ideally receive a confirmation call from their team if you don’t, consider that a red flag and follow up proactively.
I was rebooked for a few days later, and from then on, the process was seamless. The welcome at the studio wasn’t particularly warm at first, but it did improve. The makeup artist and photographer were both excellent. Since this was my first time posing for a portfolio, I was understandably nervous, but the photographer made the entire experience very comfortable and enjoyable.
The shoot itself went really well. Do note that you are required to bring your own clothes (they share details for five looks in advance). I would strongly recommend bringing a few extra options, as the photographer helps shortlist what works best on camera.
Overall, the shoot was a memorable and fun experience, and the pictures turned out fabulous.
That said, one important thing to be prepared for is the decision-making process immediately after the shoot. You are shown your portfolio right away and given package options with different price points. You are expected to decide on the spot whether you want to sign with them. If you choose not to, the images are deleted, and there’s no option to think it over and come back later.
Did I feel pressured into signing? Personally, no. The experience was enjoyable, the images looked great, and I felt comfortable going ahead. However, it’s important to walk in fully aware of this policy so you can make a clear-headed decision. It is quite an investment.
Things to keep in mind before your shoot:
Always reconfirm your appointment a day in advance
If you don’t receive a confirmation call, follow up
Bring your own clothes and pack extra options
Be prepared to make a decision about signing up immediately after viewing your photos
Go in informed and confident, so you enjoy the experience without surprises
If you’re well-prepared and know what to expect, it can be a really positive and confidence-boosting experience.

I visited the Manchester studio feeling extremely nervous, as this was completely new to me. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome and at ease.
The photographer, Raf, was a true professional — very friendly, funny, and easy to talk to, which really helped me relax. We chatted throughout the shoot and he gave clear guidance without any pressure. The outdoor photos in particular turned out far better than I expected.
Kim took the time to go through the images with me properly and helped me choose a package that suited what I was looking for, rather than pushing anything unnecessary. I appreciated the honest approach.
