Not worth a visit
We have visited the store in Leeds 3 times so far and made purchases 2 of them 3. Both of our firsts two visits we felt like the employees were trying to rush us and didn’t really strive to explain us the features of each product we were interested each time nor made sure that we us customers feel reassured and fully informed of our options. Instead I always knew more features of each product I was interested in rather than them. Please note the store was never fully busy there were maybe 2-3 other couples looking around.
The 3rd time though and worst of all was on the 19/10 were we visited looking for a high back booster car seat, note that we travelled nearly an hour to get there and PRIOR to our visit I messaged them on social media to make sure they have the two boosters I was interested in. The response on instagram was that they DO have one of them in store, so we went.
When we arrived the staff looked lost, with no pleasure at all to be there, like working there was a burden or like they were all having a very bad day and the lady that welcomed us confirmed that they DID NOT have the booster I wanted to see in store, which of course made me furious as I had to drive so long to go see it. Then I asked to be shown some other options they had in store and the lady looked like I asked her to dig a hole on the ground. She showed me one that she didn’t know how to install on their seat nor use any features on it. She was having an iPad on her hands and she was looking on YouTube for videos of the maker of the booster to see the features. She couldn’t figure it out at all and she even asked her manager (I assume) and used these exact words “… I can’t figure out how to use the extender, I already looked on YouTube videos…”Note that ALL of them had iPads on them and were all lost in them completely uninterested in the customers. There were two more available boosters in store that the lady didn’t even bother to show me I had to go around and ask to see them and even take them down from the shelves…. Like are they not supposed to be wanting to sell and show and inform the customers on their available options?
Very very disappointed and we will not be going back for another purchase as we made to feel completely worthless customers to them.
Take your money elsewhere
This company has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. I arranged a simple collection of my pushchair from the store when I ordered, yet the store shut and it was delivered without consent to the home address. When it was delivered it arranged damaged (DPD threw it over gate) and also was the wrong pushchair to what we had ordered.
very obvious that there are zero checks, zero care, and zero professionalism behind the scenes at either the company or the delivery company they choose to use
The aftercare was just as appalling. Slow responses, useless replies, and no accountability whatsoever. I had to chase them repeatedly just to get basic information, and every interaction felt like they were doing the bare minimum to get rid of me rather than actually helping.
Receiving the wrong coloured product was bad enough, but receiving it damaged and then having to deal with such shockingly poor customer service was beyond frustrating. I genuinely regret ever ordering from this company and would strongly warn others to avoid them at all costs.
Used the instagram page for support as never received a demonstration of product as it was delivered not collected - found the suppprt on here blunt and rude.
Newbie and me don’t bother with your reply on here to apologise: it’s too late: business in future has gone elsewhere.
The best store
Katie provided absolutely excellent service from start to finish. As first-timers, we were a little unsure of what to expect, but she immediately put us at ease with her warm, kind and friendly approach. She took her time with us, explained everything clearly, and made the whole experience feel comfortable and enjoyable.
Not only her but Akhill also help us tremendously with his friendliness easing grandma child safety car seat concerns.
We were also really impressed by the professionalism of the company as a whole. Everything felt well organised, welcoming and genuinely customer-focused.
Thank you, Katie, for making our first visit such a positive one. We’ll definitely be returning!

Only half the product arrived!
Only half the product arrived!! Can’t get hold of anyone over the phone. Have emailed multiple times but had no response. So disappointed with this poor service. Will have to report to trading standards if I don’t get a solution which is just more added stress for a pregnant woman!

I bought a footmuff during Black Friday, but they sent me a clearly pre-owned item: broken and in an open box. The footmuff even had hair from the previous owner. Since then, I have tried to contact them to get a refund, but they never answer the phone. Communication by email is very poor—they keep mocking me about the collection day to proceed with the refund. I would like to ask how to proceed because they are clearly not trying to provide a solution.

AVOID. Took £1100+, missed multiple delivery dates, then ghosted me.
Strongly advise expecting parents to avoid purchasing from Newbie & Me online.
I placed an order on Nov 4th for over £1,100 based on their website stating delivery in '5-7 business days'.
They missed the initial window. When I chased them, they promised delivery by Nov 26th. They missed that deadline too. By this point, my daughter had been born and I was left without a pram.
When I asked for an update on Dec 2nd, they stopped replying entirely. They never provided a valid delivery date and ignored my formal request for a refund, forcing me to raise a dispute with my bank to get my money back.
Do not trust their 'In Stock' status or their estimated delivery dates. If you need a pram for your baby, go to a reliable retailer that actually holds stock. This company added unnecessary stress to my first week with a newborn.

Wonderful experience with Scott and…
Wonderful experience with Scott and Laura. Quick and efficient. We are first time parents and had so any questions - they answered with ease and made us feel very reassured. Great experience here, would highly recommend coming here over stores such as John Lewis (where our experience was nothing like this)

Interested until I told them I wasn't due yet and then they walked away, despite being an empty shop and I still needed help.

Amazing experience
Amazing experience - can answer any question you have and nothing is too much! Massive thanks to Laura for getting us sorted. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Great Experience
Laura and Dave at Newbie and Me were really helpful. They took the time to answer all my questions and helped me choose the pushchair that suited what I was looking for. They also gave me a good price. Overall, a smooth and easy experience.
If you want your pushchair on time
If you want your pushchair on time, I would stay away from this company.
My twins were due on the 20th of October. I placed my order in June and paid the full balance in July. I was told that my order was ready to be released and that I would be contacted when it was available for collection. However, the order was not actually released to the manufacturer until September. By that point, the manufacturer had sold out of the pushchair I had chosen and it would not be back in stock until after my due date. I was also told I couldn’t choose an alternative pushchair because there was “nothing in my price range.”
Throughout this time, I had to constantly chase Scott at the Birmingham store for updates, which he never seemed to have. He repeatedly promised to call me back, but never did, leaving me feeling ignored and dismissed. When I did speak to him, he often became frustrated and argumentative, making comments about having to work overtime to sort out “my issue,” even though the delays were caused by their mistake, not mine.
A couple of days before I went into hospital, I was informed that my pushchair had arrived and was ready for collection – only to discover that some of the boxes were missing . Those missing items only reached me weeks after my twins were born.
I was also promised some form of compensation for the stress and inconvenience, but I have not heard anything since. Scott was extremely unprofessional and unhelpful throughout the entire process. The customer service has been incredibly poor, and after reading other reviews, I can see I’m not the only person who has had issues with Scott or this company.
Lovely experience today
Lovely experience today . Becky was very helpful and reassured me with all my questions . Making me feel less anxious and relaxed . We even sampled putting the pram in the car to ensure it fits and tried out several combinations . She listened to the key points I required and recommend prams to fit this criteria. Nothing was too much trouble . Both Becky and Daisy were very welcoming and friendly making the experience a pleasant one . I would Deffinetly recommend this store. We purchased the perfect pram set .
Thankyou for making this a pleasant experience for me and my mum x

Mixed experience
We ordered our silver cross system from the Leeds store in June and returned in July to order our cot, bedside crib and Moses basket, all for collection on 1 September before our due date.
Pros:
- The salesperson who helped us choose our travel system was excellent. The store also has a really good selection of prams. The items were slightly cheaper than we could have bought elsewhere.
- All staff were friendly. Once managers picked up our issues, they were dealt with relatively quickly.
- All products fine/as expected.
Cons:
- Our order was not ready for collection until a few weeks after our original collection date, and only after chasing daily by telephone/email/going into store and being escalated to managers. The experience was really stressful as we got closer to our due date and I wished we had ordered from elsewhere by the time of collection, especially as we had placed our order months earlier.
- We’ve had to repeatedly chase for updates/information. E.g. when we purchased the furniture, we asked for order confirmation to be emailed to us and we had a query re a product. The salesperson wrote a post it note but said she might forget, and she did, so we had to chase a few times. We were also often told we would be called/emailed on a certain day but rarely did.
- We were given conflicting information about our order throughout. E.g. We were told it would all be collected from store, then that the bedside crib and cot would be delivered to home, and then only the bedside crib was delivered to home. A few days after the bedside crib was delivered to home, I received a call from store confirming it was ready to collect from the store. We were also told the Moses basket was at store but then a few weeks later told they didn’t know where it was.
- The salesperson who helped us on our visit to buy the furniture had limited knowledge of the furniture and admitted they didn’t sell it very often. The experience was poor compared to when we bought the travel system.

Great advice and service - thank you Kirsty
We visited Leeds Newbie and Me Baby Store to pick up a pram bundle with our pregnant daughter. They loaded everything in the back of the car for us. We decided to look at a car seat for our car. Kirsty was very friendly and so helpful showing us all our options - she didn’t try to push us to buy the most expensive seat but showed us all of our options. She said she’d fit it in our car personally when we came to collect it (they didn’t have the colour we wanted in stock). She couldn’t have been more helpful. A real asset to the company.
Terrible experience, no communication or delivery
I ordered a stroller from Newbie and Me on 18th October, and it’s now weeks later — still no product, no update, no communication. I’ve emailed their customer service with no response whatsoever. I even tried calling several times, and no one ever picks up the phone.
This is completely unacceptable for a company that deals with essential baby products. I’m left in limbo, with money taken and nothing delivered. At the very least, customers deserve honest communication and transparency — neither of which Newbie and Me seems capable of.
If you value reliability and customer service, avoid this company until they learn how to treat customers properly.
Right now, I’m just hoping I get the product and don’t end up losing my money.

Pushy & Unwelcoming
I’m genuinely disappointed with my visit to the Newbie and Me Leeds store. After travelling over an hour to get there, I was initially greeted by a team member who spent a few minutes with me before abandoning the conversation to prioritise another customer they said was “more ready to buy”. It left me feeling dismissed and unimportant.
When I asked to speak to a manager so I could see the travel systems I was interested in, I was told that I would only get a full demonstration if I was buying today, and otherwise I should “read about it online”. The whole interaction felt transactional and pushy, more like dealing with a car dealership than a baby store.
Overall, the service on the day made me feel unwelcome and undervalued. Definitely not the experience I was hoping for after such a long journey. Needless to say myself and my husband left and shopped elsewhere.

Delayed order past due date/baby arrival no follow up
Whilst the experience in store ( Birmingham) was great at the time (probably to get a sale) everything since has been sub par. I made my order when I was 33 weeks and was told it would take roughly 4 weeks to arrive which would have been fine - the order was marked as urgent to try and speed this up.
4 weeks passed and I still hadn't heard anything about my order - there is no proactive follow up of delayed order it seems.
My due date (which they ask for) has passed and baby has arrived and I still haven't received my full travel system order which is now becoming an inconvenience to the start of our journey with our new baby. I have had to be the one to chase up my order and must have called about 10+ times to try and sort it with no one taking any ownership once I get through to the store - also no one from the store has ever reached out to try and sort it despite the order being made 7+ weeks ago and my recorded due date having passed.
Avoid if you want to have a travel system for when your baby actually arrives - I wish I'd have ordered from somewhere else!
Laura helped us massively
Laura helped us massively. Demonstrated everything we wanted to look at and ran through it all. Knew her stuff!
Please don’t make the same mistake I did
Don’t be fooled by how lovely they seem in store. They’ll say all the right things and offer tempting discounts to get your money, but once you’ve paid, everything changes. I spent over £1,000 on an Egg travel system and was given a delivery date that kept getting pushed back – with no updates unless I chased them myself. Their tone quickly turned rude and dismissive, almost as if I was the problem for asking about my order.
Before payment, they couldn’t do enough for me, but afterwards, they completely disappeared. I eventually cancelled my order and went elsewhere. I really wish I’d read the reviews before buying – please don’t make the same mistake I did. Such a disappointing and stressful first baby shopping experience.
