Very disappointed with Netgem 4k box

I was supplied with a Netgem 4k top box by TalkTalk as a supposed ‘upgrade’!! Having bought a memory stick to record on I am mortified to find I can only record one programme but not able to watch anything else whilst it’s recording!! This is a dreadfully retrograde step for long standing TalkTalk customers who have been used to being able to record and watch something else simultaneously on the old style TalkTalk box. Can Netgem look to fixing this urgently as TalkTalk will be losing many customers and Netfem will be getting many more negative reviews!

In recent years, we have found that customers are shifting from recordings to catch up via on-demand apps. The recording feature on the service is there for occasional use, whilst catch up should be the main option for watching past shows or programmes.

Definitely A Gem To Be Proud Of

Never had any problems to be honest a good selection for you to watch and you can easily had other apps on as you go.
I would strongly recommend getting it.

I've used Netgem.tv for the past 3yrs

I've used Netgem.tv for the past 3 years. What I like most is the easy layout, even my 4yr old can navigate his way round the different channels.
I also use the Netgem.TV app as I travel away a lot, I find it very useful. Finally you can use it with Alexa, it's sometimes hit and miss however that is down to Alexa and not Netgem.tv. Happy Customer

We have had the Netgem soundbox for 3.5…

We have had the Netgem soundbox for 3.5 years. We have a semi-smart TV which has built-in freeview, but no app capability. Firstly, the sound is a big improvement on the TV’s built in sound. We love the layout and content of the menus which are easy to navigate. There is a large selection of free view channels (137 for us currently). The pause feature has always worked well for us and catch-up apps are all there in the home menu. I like the Netgem app for my tablet too, especially the TV guide which is (Wi-Fi) paired to the soundbox so you can change channels direct from the app. Customer service is also excellent. Recently one of the buttons on the remote stopped working, and although it was 3.5 years old a replacement was sent out to us free of charge. If I have one criticism it is that there is no Netflix app - maybe something for the future? Regardless, I would still happily recommend Netgem.

Excellent service

I have had my Netgem box for a little over a month now and I love it. It has channels I haven't seen elsewhere, which enhances my viewing experience. I especially love that I can watch Canadian ice hockey on the internet channels. Overall, a great product for a reasonable price.

Exceptionally Superb Netgem Product & Services

Exceptionally great service with personal attention and clearly explained every enquiry, I totally recommend Netgem to everyone as it provides so many global channels free on the freeview side alone, which you can't get elsewhere!
110% for customer services and 120% for features and broadcasted services - and I am a Multi Media specialist from BBC Broadcasts Special Fx and currently in Corporate Webcast Media and Visual Fx. So this Netgem box is a fantastic product AND service! Don't delay get yours ASAP - I am Chewie1g

I got the Netgem 4k TV box through…

I got the Netgem 4k TV box through Takktalk a few days ago. What a terrible experience it’s been so far. The pause facility doesn’t work properly. When you try to resume after a time the programme stalls and jumps around so you miss half of the timelapse. When using a USB stick to record a programme, it kicks you off what you are watching, the recording or trying to stop the recording also appears to interfere with the box, it begins to shut down and start up again every 3-5 minutes and the remote won’t respond when this happens. This goes on for hours unless you shut it down and manually delete the recordings. Awful tv box. Talktalk couldn’t explain why this is happening so have offered a replacement. Watch this space…

Great TV and sound but must mention the customer service. A lovely lady called mercy called me at 20.00 hrs 3 hours after she had finished so I could sort my elderly aunts freeview knowing that I could only be there at that time. Mercy sorted the problem and was extremely understanding and patient. Thank you

Good box good selection of programming

Good box good selection of programming, customer service could be better when you phone up you get a recorded message in Hindi, and although live chat is available it's tricky for customer like myself with Arthritis in the hands. UK call centre would be beneficial.

Great Tv Box.

Since reverting to a NetGem TV I
couldn’t be more happier.
Many Apps built in that I use, so no switching over, you can also add a memory stick for recording your favourite program.

The Netgem TV Box only has one tuner.

The user experience of this system, which I received from Community Fibre, is a let down because the box only has one tuner which means you can only watch one channel and record another as long as they are on the same MUX channel. This means that if they are not, you will need to stop recording the TV programme which is currently recording or not watch the programme you want to watch "live". Netgem should ugrade their boxes as it needs a second tuner at a minimum. Another note is that to record, you will need to buy a USB flash drive. The Netgem TV box does not have internal storage capacity.
