Zing Health was founded in 2019 by two African American physician entrepreneurs, Eric E. Whitaker, MD, MPH, and Kenneth Alleyne, MD, along with co-founders Health2047 and healthcare executive Garfield Collins, to address inadequacies in the healthcare system by creating collaborative, community-based Medicare Advantage plans.
By extending 21st century health service solutions built around community, Zing Health seeks to drastically improve health outcomes in diverse populations that have been chronically underserved. Given that 80 percent of clinical outcomes are attributable to social determinants of health, Zing Health’s unique approach acknowledges the importance of understanding a patient’s circumstances outside of a clinical setting and offers a strategic, tech-enabled model that can scale to match the size of the problem.
In 2020, Zing Health served Medicare beneficiaries in Cook County, Illinois. Today, Zing serves an expanded service area encompassing counties in Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana. In 2024, Zing Health will begin offering new plan types as well as enhancements to existing plans.
Our Mission
Zing Health has a singular mission: Providing managed care Medicare Advantage plans that address social determinants of health to reduce healthcare disparities among historically underserved populations. Zing’s plans integrate Medicare Parts A and B benefits with Part D prescription drug coverage, along with providing robust extra benefits.

They are awful, I gave a honest bad review and answered questions from CMS, explaining this company has been a disfunctional nightmare for me, and they've retaliated against me by cutting off my food and over the counter funds with no explanation, and when they've contacted me, when I answer the phone they hang up on me, apparently to be able to say they attempted to contact me, in my opinion and based on how I've been treated they're dangerously disfunctional and inept, if you proceed with them, be very careful!, also they once covered a bill then retracted it with no explanation, and I can prove everything I've said regarding this screw up insurance!, (I'm being retaliated against), it's as simple as that, cutting off my help/benefits doesn't help anybody or resolve anything, if zing is or ever was concerned they would attempt to resolve and or make things better, not punish me via retaliation! I stand by what I said for documented reason(s),awful insurance!

I have been in the hospital recently. During my stay I need equipment and Zing took care of it. When I returned home I found out that Zing contacted a company where I could get free meals delivered to my home.

So far the health institutions I have visited never asked me for any insurance card. Information is already in their system.

The OTC benefits and convenience exceed those of other providers. So far I haven't had a negative experience in any area.

I am trying to get the letter from my VA DOCTOR entered. No one can help and the people answering the phone apparently have no supervision to answer questions. There is only one customer service number and they are no help.

Services provided were ok. A mix up on some of my benefits and PCP caused me to change. But I'm planning on returning when enrollment is available

The people and the workers I came in contact with were very nice. But the communication has been more than once a disappointing and frustrating experience.

I hate that you have to have a network, I would like it if you could go to any Dr like normal Insurances, networking is such a headache, that would improve Zing alot better.

Reply from Zing Health
I have not had any problems with services that you all promised me.

In summation, Zing Health is always easily acceptable for any question or situation that arises and always strives to provide a quick resolution for everything that is requested of them on my behalf.
