The platform was extremely helpful and involved with helping my child look for a tutor, and his current tutor is really nice. The lessons are really relaxed but useful, he really enjoys the lessons, and thinks that he’s improving a lot. I would definitely recommend My Tutor to other people looking for tutors.

Very efficient and prompt service

My daughter has been using MyTutor for the final year of her IB programme, and I could not be more pleased with the experience. The quality of the tutors is outstanding, especially her university tutor, who has provided exceptional academic support and guidance throughout the year. What stands out most to me is the excellent communication between the tutor and parents. After every session, I receive a detailed update explaining what was covered, what went well, and what the next steps will be. This level of transparency and involvement has made the whole process feel very supportive and well-structured. Thanks to MyTutor, my daughter feels much more confident in her studies, and I feel well-informed about her progress. I highly recommend this service to any parent seeking reliable, high-quality academic support for their child.

I applied to be a tutor on MyTutor for Latin, and Classical Greek, and they would not let me offer my subjects.

Why not? Despite being from another country that has no tradition of Latin nor Greek teaching, I am more than qualified - I have a strong degree in Ancient Greek, and Latin from a Russel Group university, and I have a teaching qualification in Latin, and Classics from Oxbridge. I have taught in one of the best schools in the entire UK.

However, because I did not have an A-Level, I was denied. This is ludicrous to me. I literally teach these subjects at A-Level - but they would rather my students tutored others, and not I? It's absolutely backwards, and deeply insulting.

The two representatives I corresponded with (Yasmin, & Fabio) were deeply unhelpful, and belligerent, they refused to see my perspective at all and just stuck to what I can only describe as a prime piece of bureaucratic nonsense.

It's a shocking standard for a tutoring site - especially in two subjects that are ALWAYS in need of more tutors! Especially qualified teachers.

My grandchild struggles with maths and her tutor Oliver is making her feel mire confident when approaching questions that she has been unsure about. Her teacher has noticed her confidence growing too. Hopefully thus will make a difference when she comes to do the exams.

Excellent lesson and the tutor is very engaging

My son has struggled with maths for some time and was so worried about GCSE maths. However, since having weekly 1:1 lessons his confidence is notably growing week by week.
I would highly recommend Warwick. He delivers each session interactively with thought and context aligning to my son’s ability while applying relevant material to promote a deeper understanding for my sons learning needs

Brilliant tutorial, clear and super focused

Nicola is really skilled at teaching and building confidence.

The tutor has been excellent. In under a year, my daughter’s predicted GCSE maths grade has increased from a 7 to an 8.

However, the platform functionality and service has been average. At one point they cancelled my account and all lessons to move me to a new service.

Beware of overcharging
I have been overcharged and am having a great deal of trouble getting the correct refund. They have admitted some “system errors” and charged me much higher incorrect amounts with various ‘discounts’ applied to them that I was not informed about . I did not agree too anything other than £39 a lesson for 10 lessons. Anyone with a brain cell can see that that totals £390. Simple. But £443.95 is what they have charged me ?! I provided them with all my credit card charges and dates and after 17 ( yes 17! ) emails I have only received a partial refund! AVOID THIS COMPANY!

The service itself was good but the tutor not really. Lessons were re scheduled and on one occasion cancelled with less than an hour's notice. This only two weeks before exam. The tutor seemed to have a lot of commitment of her own which interfered.
