Scam After Being Redirected from USPS Address Change
As others have mentioned, during a USPS address change there is an option to change your voter registration as well due to the new address. If you select this option, instead of taking you to the proper government website it takes you to mymove.com - where they will not allow you to move forward without submitting information that will then let a number of advertisers to start spamming you.
It's deceiving and unethical the way they have it structured.
Absolute scum bag of a company
Absolute scum bag of a company. It’s literally there just to deceive you into entering a dark pattern of advertisements and spam.
What a disgusting company.
A middle-man scam made to steal your info, spam you, and sell your data
This company uses the voter registration process to steal your info and make money off of you. You cannot register to vote through them without giving your info to at least one of their sponsored companies before proceeding. An absolute embarrassment for the USPS to be connected to. The complete attack on US citizen's personal info is exhausting, and this company exemplifies it perfectly. Don't register through this company, just search for "[your state] voter registration" and complete it there.
This should be illegal
This should be illegal! Directed here to update my voting address and like others mentioned, you CANNOT proceed unless you select to share your info with at least one of the promo offers. No thank you! I would like to expect better from USPS. :(
Undermines customer trust
The experience on the MyMove website feels unnecessarily predatory. After submitting a change of address, you're redirected to MyMove and immediately confronted with a barrage of “offers.”
The most frustrating part is the navigation: the option to proceed without selecting any offers simply doesn’t work. However, if you choose an offer (even one you don’t want) the “continue with only this offer” button functions normally. This design gives the impression that users are being coerced into opting in.
MyMove has the potential to be a reputable, helpful resource that people would return to. Unfortunately, as many others have noted, the current design choices come across as misleading and undermine trust.
0 stars, Useless Enshittification of USPS
If I could rate 0 stars, I would. Why does changing my address with USPS involve this external company? I couldn't change my USPS address, because their website wouldn't let me skip "voter registration", and trying to quote me "car insurance" - there was no option to select that I didn't have a car.
This website is wholy useless, and it's embarassing that the official USPS website redirects to this terrible website without warning.
USPS Address Change is a Scam
I have no idea why changing your address with the USPS involves battling a separate website with more ads than a porn site. I never did get to any kind of voter registration page. Just a complete scam and waste of time. Hey, USPS, end your relationship with this trash company!
Spam and Scam-like service
They won't let you move forward without signing up for "special offers" that you likely have no interest in signing up for. Massive scam and a shame USPS has partnered with them. Go literally anywhere to update your voter registration.
Absolute Joke
Absolute joke of a partnership between this company and the USPS. I can't for any reason imagine why anyone would want to use this service when they're being forced into screens that can't be skipped for services they don't want or need. I hope the USPS revisits their partnership with this clown organization.
Literally just stealing your info and sending spam.
I would give zero stars if I could. Absolute scam website to steal your information under the guise of prefilling your info to change your voter registration. A convenience greatly over shadowed by the time wasted slogging through their BS offers and you get to a point you cannot continue without selecting to be added to at least one spam list. Just Google voter registration and do it yourself faster and safer. I cannot believe this garbage is affiliated with the USPS.
When all you want to do is update your…
When all you want to do is update your Voter Registration information, this site is of zero use. I don't want any of the deals or offers that you have to sign up for. Seems like a scam to force you to get things you have no interest in. I can't believe the USPS allows this to go on.
0 stars
0 stars. I was directed to the My Move app by the USPS website when I wanted to update my voter registration. The app would not let me begin the process unless I gave it a bunch of information about my car insurance (??). This is a predatory company. No surprise that this integration happened when the USPS was told to become profitable.
FRAUD ALERT
FRAUD ALERT! Garbage, trash, waste. This Website should be illegal. They force you to provide information to advertisers in order to get your voter ID updated then THEY DON"T UPDATE YOUR VOTER ID.
Garbage
Garbage. Worse than useless. All I wanted to do was update my voter registration. All it tried to do was sell me xyz useless crap I don't need.
Why aren't there zero stars
Why aren't there zero stars. The website does nothing, literally nothing. It prefills a form that you have to then mail yourself.
Meanwhile it blocks the submit button, forces you to select promotional offers. No business should be associated with or advertise on this hellsite. And shame on USPS for trapping their customers. with this.
Basically reiterating what everyone…
Basically reiterating what everyone else on here is saying lol. Changed my address with USPS, thought I could update my voter registration with USPS too since they offered, then got stuck halfway through when My Move wouldn't let me continue the registration process without signing up for a bunch of "deals." Translation: I couldn't finish updating my voter information without selling my contact information to advertisers. Beyond annoying. Don't sign up for this!!
Why is USPS in on this scam?
USPS offered to help me update my voter registration. Then it handed my personal info to MyMove, which then proceeded to "help" by not allowing me to proceed until I'd filled out a request for car insurance quotes. As anyone who's ever tried "free car insurance quotes" will tell you, giving such services your info is a perfect way to spam up your inbox until the heat death of the universe.
Let me reiterate, there was no way to skip this process. Ick.
Don't sign up!!
Don't sign up!!! Unbelievable that USPS is connected to this "business". The Junk email I've received after clicking on the MyMove offer was totally unacceptable. My bad for thinking it would be legit if on a USPS Change of Address process.
Predatory and terrible service
Predatory, difficult to use, and it won't let you advance/complete voter registration or change of address processes without picking several spammy solicitations. Just look up your SOS or other state services to make these changes manually. Late stage capitalism strikes again. :(
What in the actual F?
What the *#%$? To change your voter registration going through the United States postal service you are sent to a third party private company where they send your personal information to advertisers without giving any other option. How is this legal?
