The service overall was pretty appauling

The service overall was pretty disappointing. They hardly answer the phones, it can take multiple attempts through the day and even flow onto the following day before they pick up (they told me this is because they are too busy). They do not respond to emails. It took weeks before I could actually get through and book/confirm an appointment. The administration staff don't really seem that confident in what they are telling you/or know. I was not informed I could have a face to face or tele-health and automatically booked with the most expensive senior psychiatrist. I had to question the process for tele heath and costs. Given it is quite expensive, I felt I should have been informed of my options. Once diagnosed, my medication was giving me severe side effects. Again I could not get through to the office via phone or email. I contacted the psychiatrist directly, she did not reply and sent an sms with the script (no instructions). I was told by the psychiatrist I had to have a follow up appt, costing $400, on top of paying a discharge fee. I saw my GP in the meantime who informed me I did not have to see myADHD aust. again and he could take over my care. MyADHD tried to tell me I had to not only see the psychiatrist for a follow up, but also pay a discharge letter fee. Under the new legislation, this had all changed. MyADHD should surely know that, considering ADHD assessments/care is all they do. The process to then cancel my appt and obtain my refund back was also a mess. They cancelled my appt and then sent me a text saying I had another appt, which I didn't. I had to call and clear this up, it was not until then that they finely sent me my refund and I am now thankfully done with them. The whole process is a mess. Avoid them at all costs if you can. Go with someone else.

Knowledgeable specialists- support experience could be improved

My experience with the specialists at My ADHD Australia has been positive, they're helpful and professional. The overall administrative experience and support staff could be improved, though. The people I've spoken to on the phone seem somewhat indifferent, the lead time to book in for a review can be quite lengthy/inflexible and while I'm sure they're entitled to, they charge an administrative fee wherever possible - even if it's for a simple letter or repeat. The fee for a review of regular medication is definitely on the high end too - you can expect to pay $500 for a follow-up as opposed to $300-400 which some other clinics charge for a similar review. This can add up as time goes on, because I haven't been discharged to the care of a regular GP for my meds and I am dependent on review appointments such as these every six months in order to get my medication.
