Thought long & hard before writing this review, never felt it necessary to write a negative report with regard any commercial dealings before, but feel obligated to pass on our experience of having dealt with Morrish & Co's Pudsey office.
Initially made an on-line appointment for my m-in-law who wanted assistance on preparing a part sale of her interest in a property. No response so chased up. No response & wrote to the managing partner who explained they had been having 'difficulties' in their Pudsey office & expedited on our behalf. During the ensuing work, it was necessary to write to the solicitor dealing with the work asking for a response to unanswered (ie weeks had past) correspondence. Few years later & had to use firm again for a conveyancing & wills/probate matter relating to previous part-sale of interest in property. During the proceedings, when weeks had again passed without a response to emails wrote & formally complained. Complaints Partner apologised & no issue with conveyancing side thereafter. With regards the wills/probate issue, the explanation for the failure to respond was that the member of staff was a locus & the matter would now be passed to partner to action. In due course had to write back to the Complaints Partner pointing out communications had once again dried up. This galvanised the awaited advice which was wholly incorrect. The advice was based upon Morrish & Co's earlier work for my m-in-law but despite having the paperwork to hand they provided wholly erroneous proposals as to a trust distribution. Pointed out the (gross) errors & provided a draft of what we believed the distribution should in fact look like. They responded with new draft proposal exactly as we had advised. In effect we had to do the work for them. No apologise for their error forthcoming. For preparing the proposed trust distribution (which they initially got wholly wrong & had to be corrected by us) they charged in excess of £700. Morrish & Co's repeat failure to respond promptly or at all, their initial wholly inaccurate proposal for the distribution of trust proceeds, added considerably to what was a very stressful situation. We had so wanted to use a local firm but our experience was so, so, disappointing.
Following this note, my wife has reminded me as to the numerous typographical errors (see Morrish & Co's staff biographies) & their inability to get her name correct in correspondence.

We were directed to Morirish by another firm as ours was an unusual dispute, and I can highly recommend them. They were efficient, understanding, and very professional, resolving our dispute in a satisfactory way.
We were particularly impressed by their attention to detail and their ability to navigate the complexities of our case with ease. The team at Morirish kept us informed throughout the entire process, providing clear guidance and support at every step. Their expert knowledge and strategic approach ensured a successful outcome, and we felt confident and reassured knowing that we were in capable hands. We would not hesitate to engage their services again in the future and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of legal expertise.

I cannot recommend Mark Laird (Conveyancing) highly enough for his exceptional support and guidance throughout our house purchase. From start to finish, he was a pillar of professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication, making a particularly stressful process much more manageable.
Our transaction was far from straightforward—the seller repeatedly played games and delayed progress, but Mark was always one step ahead. He meticulously addressed all the issues flagged in the Level 3 Surveyor report, ensuring nothing was overlooked. He tirelessly chased the seller's solicitor, leaving no stone unturned to protect our interests.
Mark’s accessibility and responsiveness were second to none. My partner and I spent around 10 hours on phone calls with him spread throughout the entire purchase, during which he patiently addressed our concerns, offered clear advice, and reassured us every step of the way. His emails were equally prompt, often responded to almost immediately, which is rare in any profession, let alone one as demanding as his.
What truly sets Mark apart is his approachable nature. Speaking with him feels like talking to a trusted family friend, yet he always maintains the highest level of professionalism. His respect for his clients is second to none, and his dedication to ensuring their satisfaction is truly exceptional.
You are exceptional, Mark, and we are so grateful for everything you have done for us. Keep doing what you’re doing, lad—you’ve absolutely set the standard for what a solicitor should be!
