I had some gold two years ago and…
I had some gold two years ago and silver bars that I sold but Merrion refused to buy certain gold bars namely the 25x1g gold. Then I put that away for later and recently bought some more gold silver and platinum. Today my wife tried to sell 1x10g gold bar and 5x1g packs on platinum to release a little cash flow and they again refused to purchase my gold
Etc. j have nowhere else to sell it in Ireland and the goods come with receipt from #bullionbypost to show delivery and serial numbers on each bar etc just ran their tests and decided it wasn’t gold if I have any other option I will not go back to them. I have to travel around 3-4 hours across the country to sell it it’s a kick in the face to be told it’s not real

Merrion Gold guarantees to buy back any gold or silver originally purchased from us, and we are also happy to purchase precious metals bought elsewhere. In every case, however, all items are subject to our in-house testing and verification before we can complete a purchase.
It's important to stress that when an item does not pass our verification, this does not mean it is fake. Our testing is held to deliberately strict standards, and there are several technical reasons a genuine product may not pass on the day — none of which amount to a judgement that the item is counterfeit. We're sorry if that distinction wasn't made clearer to you at the time.
In situations like this, we would always recommend raising it with the company you originally purchased from, as they will be best placed to confirm the specifications and authenticity of the items they supplied.

My first experience with them.

The best in Dublin
The best in Dublin. 3.5% fee not the cheapest, but worth it for the highly professional and efficient service. They usually transfer funds in up to 10 days, but they sped this up for me upon my request. I sold gold to them on Monday and the money was in my account by Friday. I really appreciated that.

Expensive package charge
I was disappointed as was originally offered £1349.00 but after arriving was offered £1189.00 because the packaging of the 10gram bar was slightly creased. I felt that £160 euros was abit high. Otherwise staff were polite and recieved payment into my account in 4 working days

Any offer we make to purchase precious metals from members of the public is subject to the products and the packaging of the products being in mint or 'as new' condition. Unfortunately we can only offer reduced prices to customers if the product or packaging is in anyway scratched, damaged or showing signs of wear and tear. We would like to apologise for not making this clearer when we made our initial indicative offer over the phone.
We always encourage our customers to store their metals in a Safe Deposit Box or similarly secure environment to prevent any damage or wear and tear to precious metals and the packaging.
