At 86 years you cannot get a test drive

Good job Mercedes my father who is 86 is being refused a test drive for the Mercedes EQE because of his age. Not very diversity and inclusion. I have been cut off 3 times from the customer services and the Mercedes insurance line number they give, doesn’t go through to anywhere. I guess you don’t think customer service excellence is important :(

MERCEDES BENZ CROYDON/PURLEY WAY.

MERCEDES BENZ CROYDON/PURLEY WAY.
OVERPRICED AND DISHONEST.
Our car went in for a recall for an airbag fault. Mercedes had the car for 6 hours before telling us that the work can not be done until the red airbag light on the dash had been cleared. They told us the work would need to be done to 1) diagnose problem 2) fix the problem. They gave an on the spot quotation of £239 and option of a payment plan split over 3 months.
This quote was for diagnostics only !! When I questioned the quote I was told that this was there HOURLY RATE.
I have since taken the car to a local garage who charged me zero pounds to diagnose the airbag fault, it took him 5 MINUTES. The fault came back as a seatbelt buckle sensor. Immediately after leaving Mercedes Benz the engine management light came on, Mercedes denied any knowledge of this and refused to fix additional problems that they caused while the car was in there care.
The one thing I look for in any mechanic is honestly, it is my opinion that this garage is dishonest and overpriced. AVOID.

Mercedes customer service isn’t as good as it use to be

Bought a used C Class a year ago, got pushed into buying an extended warranty. No mention that warranty was with a third party not with Mercedes. Even though I asked questions. After a year having spoken to various departments, I’m told it’s via RAC. I think I was miss-sold. They not taking responsibility but was told by phone staff that many customers aren’t told who the warranty is with so I’m not the only one.

AUTO TORINO VIA SALARIA ROMA

AUTO TORINO VIA SALARIA ROMA. VERGOGNATEVI ! AUTO TORINO VIA SALARIA ROMA. Due to a diesel leak from my GLE 350d, they have had the car hostage for 5 days and they cannot tell me what the problem could be. I called 15 times and after 4 days of waiting I was told that they still have to see it! They will leave me the weekend without a car because the courtesy car is not included and they do not have a 4x4 model to give. Many excuses were invented with each of my calls, among others a strike that blocked the work for 48 hours. SHAME ON YOU!

Disappointed customer service

Collected a brand new evito van from Gloucester branch Friday in the pouring rain. Sat morning I realised how filthy it was & even had moss growing on the window seals! I returned it to the garage the following Monday following a battery warning message on the dashboard. They said they’d have it cleaned before returning it but they didn’t. Seriously poor customer service!!

Well done, Mercedes Stockport

I was redirected to Mercedes Stockport after a terrible customer service experience with another vendor. When I arrived, I was greeted by a welcoming security guard who informed me where to park and how to get to reception. The receptionist greeted me with a smile and was able to find my details. During my wait, I was offered coffee, and my paperwork was processed in a timely manner. I efficiently dropped off my vehicle for repairs and received a high-quality courtesy car. The customer service was the highest I have encountered in a long time, and I had the same experience when I collected my vehicle - Well done, Mercedes Stockport; you have set the gold standard for customer experience and service. I will be buying my next car directly from you.

Very poor communication through out the…

Very poor communication through out the 3-year lease, and the only time they want to talk or email is when the lease is nearly up and they want to collect the car and sell you a new lease.
They are also the most inflexible lease company we have ever encountered, we wanted to change a few cars halfway through the lease only to be told no, just pay the full amount for the term and then we will collect the car and you can takeout a new lease for what you want. Really pay for 1.5 years up front to terminate a lease and hand the car in to you to then start again, are you having a laugh.
BMW came to the rescue and are unbelievably helpful, and if circumstance's change with staff or you need to change a vehicle at any point nothing is a problem.
Shame on you Mercedes, you are without doubt the worst leasing company we have dealt with for over 30 years by some mileage.
Before you sign just check, can i change if i need too or want to half way through or at any point for flexibility, be warned.

Poor service on every level- for anyone out there with a Mercedes electric car please don’t sign up to the Mercedes Me charge app unless you want to continuously have to ring, email and get absolutely nowhere when you want to cancel. The customer service team have been really poor and no effort had been put in to assist when I needed it.
Great cars but unfortunately their aftercare is the opposite end of the scale and not what you would expect from a company like Mercedes

Shrewsbury dealership is appaling

Shrewsbury dealership is appaling, I have called several times, left messages and emailed the manager on 27th November 2024, regarding the immediate termination and full refund of the warranty sold to me via a 3rd party and not directly with Mercedes Benz, for my vehicle, Mercedes-Benz GLA 220.
Despite my previous communication, I have not received any acknowledgment or response. Furthermore, I have made several calls and left messages, yet I have not received any follow-up.
Today, I spoke with a sales person, who informed me that the policy cancellation is in process. However, he declined to provide this confirmation in writing via email, which is unacceptable. This lack of communication is concerning and unprofessional. Not going down this road again especially with Lookers Shrewsbury.

Mercedes Benz Feedback for Carlos

Customer Feedback for Carlos at Mercedes-Benz Birmingham, Bromford Lane.

I wanted to take a moment to recognise Carlos who works on reception for his exceptional customer service. From the moment I walked into the dealership, Carlos always greeted me with a warm smile that instantly made me feel welcomed. His friendly demeanor and genuine hospitality set the tone for a positive experience.

While I waited to see the Service or Sales personnel, Carlos went above and beyond to ensure my comfort by offering and making me a cup of coffee. This thoughtful gesture made my wait pleasant and showed his dedication to providing top-notch service.

Carlos is an asset to Mercedes team, and his efforts truly make a difference in creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for customers. Keep up the great work!

MB head office central team very poor

I am absolutely disgusted with MB Head Office. On 4 November, I enquired about buying the new GLA Premium Plus, but it appears the central team are not passing information on to their local dealers. So it took 3 weeks and a bad review, to finally get a response. Nottingham have been amazing since finding out. Thank you for reaching out Ian and Gurj.

don't be taken in by the Mercedes Benz name

I travelled from Liverpool to the Mercedes Belfast dealership to purchase a car that was described to me by your salesman, Scotty Woods, as being in "lovely condition." However, upon arrival, I found several significant issues with the vehicle, including:

A bonnet that needs repainting

Two scuffed wheels

A damaged side running step requires replacement

A deep scuff in the leather seat

I had specifically requested that any damage be declared before making the trip, and I feel misled by the inaccurate description provided. This has caused me considerable inconvenience and disappointment.

I have previously submitted a complaint but have yet to receive a response. I am seeking a formal apology and a resolution to this matter. I believe that as a reputable brand, Mercedes-Benz should uphold higher standards of customer service and transparency.

Basically, these are no more than back street used car dealer's don't be taken in by the Mercedes Benz name

I bought e new sprinter van back in…

I bought e new sprinter van back in 2021 with 70miles only thinking is a van for life!!!
But soon after that started having problems with doors and battery went flat for 3days I was away!
So 3months after warranty turbo charge left me in the van with only 17,000mile only and I took it Benz in Dartford and they don't have a clue what was going on I have to tell them what is wrong with van! And they had to do it in a day was booked but they took to days and left me without work for two days and was charged £180 for check, which they didn't do properly when they closed the van the didn't intact the inter cooler hose properly and kind of cable was attached to it which was clipped I have to call them back to fix it.
Stuff is very rude! I never had a bad experience like this in 25years!!!
Please don't buy a Sprinter van 214 don't meter how desperate you are as you will regret. They asked me for £4.550 to replace turbo charger, which is rip off as I booked somewhere else for £2,500.
Be aware of Dartford Benz as you will be regretting

Purchased a new GLA in March this year…

Purchased a new GLA in March this year from Mercedes of Salisbury and I have been so disappointed. The car has only covered 3,000 miles in around six months, however it developed noises from the front steering especially when I turn right.
I arranged to get it booked in for the service department to resolve the problem. That’s when things really started going wrong.
I went for test drive with a technician who heard the noise and left the car with them. They told me the part would be in on Monday so I left the car for the weekend. The part arrived Tuesday! They then fitted only to find this did not solve the problem and that I need a suspension part. Guess what? The part for vehicles they are currently making and selling are on back order. So I collected the car assured it was ok to drive.
When I drove the car and turned right I started getting an intermittent grinding sound off the front off side of the car.
I returned the car to Mercedes of Salisbury Service department for them to check and ask to speak to the technician who would look at the car. I was told by one of the reception car that he knew all about and that would not be necessary.
The technician proceed to place the car on a lift and pulled at each front wheel, at no time did he check the steering or the brakes.
So here I am a car still waiting for a part on back order and one more issue with the car than before I started.

Extremely Disappointed with Overcharging and Poor Service at Mercedes-Benz Southend

I would give a 0 if I could!!!

I recently took my 2015 Mercedes-Benz C Class to Mercedes-Benz Southend for repairs and was hit with an outrageous bill. My car’s ECU was faulty because of a wrong coding sent from a diagnostic tool, and I made sure this was clearly explained in the booking notes, when I dropped off the car, and even over the phone around 11 a.m. when I suspected that the technician had no clue what was going on (they’re supposed to be highly skilled techs, after all!). Yet, I was charged £666 just for diagnostics—despite spelling out the issue for them right from the start. Basically, they billed me for redundant checks on a problem I’d already identified.

When I collected my car and challenged the charges, the supervisor’s response was dismissive, suggesting that because most customers “don’t have knowledge in these matters,” they had to carry out all checks. This essentially translates to treating all customers as uninformed (to not say stupid in other words) and, in my case, ignoring clear information about the issue to justify overcharging for redundant diagnostics.

After much back and forth, the supervisor eventually admitted that the £444 seemed high and offered to cut it in half, which I’d have been fine with. But once he found out I’d already paid in full, he said he couldn’t make any adjustments, leaving me with no way to resolve this.

It’s absurd to come in with a specific problem, be clear about what’s wrong, and end up paying £222 + £444 just to confirm what I told them at the start (plus an additional £1,345 for the ECU itself, which I expected). Southend claims I agreed to all charges, but they conveniently didn’t mention that the initial £222 diagnostic fee wasn’t included in the quoted charges. I only found this out at the end of the day when I realized the £444 was for two extra hours of checks, which didn’t even include the initial diagnostic.

Honestly, if I’d known that, I’d never have agreed to pay for two extra hours. What could they possibly be doing for three hours when I’d already told them the ECU was unresponsive? Any skilled tech, with my notes in front of them, should have just checked the ECU pinouts, which would have shown there was no data coming out. Instead, they wasted two hours checking fuses and wires when I’d made it clear it was a software issue, not a physical fault. (And really, what is there to check for two hours? There are only two plugs altogether.)

On top of all this, I had to chase them down for an invoice, which I didn’t receive when I collected the car. I eventually requested it by email last week, but only got it today after following up by phone—they didn’t even bother to answer my email. When I filed a complaint, Customer Service backed Southend’s approach, said a goodwill request was submitted (and quickly denied), and reiterated that I agreed with the charges (again, not knowing that the initial diagnostic of £222 was not included in the £444 they asked for the investigation).

This shows a total disregard for customer input and a lack of transparency.

I would never, ever use any Mercedes Dealership again after being ripped off in such a shameful way, and I plan to take this to The Motor Ombudsman to get it properly looked into.

Hopefully, sharing my experience will help other customers make more informed choices about where to take their cars for repairs.

Staff and assistance for road side assistance 5* service

I had to call for road side assistance and I can not fault the process. Everyone I spoke to from the call centre to the RAC pick up team, Europcar and then Mercedes Benz Watford were so helpful and I was dealt with a lot quicker than they had advised and kept up to date with timings throughout. 5 * service from ordering me a taxi to collect courtesy car, fixing my car so promptly and as I mentioned earlier the staff were really kind, what should have been a stressful experience they all put me at ease.

DECLINE OF MERCEDES BENZ AS A PRESTIGE MARQUE. + FAILURE OF ONE OF THEIR MAJOR DEALERSHIPS TO INITIALLY RESPOND TO MESSAGES.

Prior to purchasing a new Mercedes Benz I read through the reviews on social media.
I have noted that MB makes no reply to the many negative, one star reviews posted.
This is surely a sign of a once prestige marque in decline.

Stratstone, MB of Leeds quoted me 90 minutes labour to change the hydraulic struts that control the tailgate on my MB GLC 4 Matic.
Including the parts I was quoted £362.76 by this Stratstone Mercedes Benz, Leeds dealership.

Having read the many negative postings regarding Mercedes Benz, l was prompted to call a local garage whilst in Spain for a quote for this work.

I was impressed by the high calibre of service which the Spanish garage gave me.
Immiediately a mechanic confirmed that the problem was indeed the hydraulic struts.
He asked if I wanted a quote for him to do the work.
He then got on he phone to his supplier.
Within minutes he told me that it would take 10 minutes labour to change these and that the total cost would be 127 Euros, about £108.00. Including parts.

I, in common with many other people, abhore how we are 'ripped off' in the UK.

So I contacted Mercedes Benz (Leeds) a Stratstone company to ask how they could justify 90 minutes labour for a 10 minute job.

I was assured a call-back.
Stratstone, MB of Leeds failed to call me back as promised.
I must add that this is not the first time a failure to call me backth has occured from this Stratstone, Leeds MB dealership.

On my return to UK, I called The Stratstone complaints team at their head office.
I received a recorded message to leave a message.
Indeed I had to repeat this exercise 3 times over a period of 2 weeks.
Eventually, after 3 attempts I got a call back from the Stratstone, Mercedes Benz dealership in Leeds.

My conversation with this dealership's business manager was far from satisfactory.
This senior executive at The Stratstone Mercedes Benz Leeds dealership persisted in 'talking over me' at speed on a far from satisfactory line, and was far from amicable.
I would say that arrogance summerised his attitude.
I was told that MB, Leeds should have been given the opportunity to view the vehicle first.
At £125.00 diagnostic fee, no thankyou!
I must again emphasise that Stratstone and their Leeds Mercedes Benz dealership have previously failed to call me back.

I invite Stratstone to reply on Facebook and explain if it is their policy not to respond to complaints.
Is this part of their culture?
I have had so many issues with MB that I can no longer consider this a prestige marque of vehicles.
Numerous other negative customer comments on social media appear to concur with my opinion.
The lack of a resopnse from Mercedes Benz on social media is surely a sign of decline of a previous prestige marque.
Senior management at Mercedes Benz, please take note.
