DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK PRODUCT imo

DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK PRODUCT in my opinion. Worst grout ever. Hand mixed to pancake batter consistency. Didn't have a drill at 350 rpms that they don't mention because they want you to mess up to buy more in my opinion. The grout rubs sandy on finger next day which is 14 hours later. Went on site and it said too watery!! BS, all thier lists were a junk including package listing.

Supposed to be some super product that doesn't need a sealant but avoid it touching air if you go to their troubleshooting site. That's a blame you page. I studied forever, everywhere, everyone, perfect conditions, mixed powder like crazy is white not grey, no air in room, pancake batter consistency, and every which video of fails and wins. I could not have done this more perfect and if it had "too much water" then it staying moist in pan but drying around 1 minute or 2 when applied makes no sense. Package shows using a mixer. Watch any review and unless you use basically an egg mixer you will dry it out so their instructions push you to ruin it.

I am posting this everywhere and to the BBB because what it took to possibly be ruined by a junk product has made me livid. I have a young kid that would love to use a heated bathroom right now as would us. 1 crack and I will be on the news. Not for what you're thinking but to start a campaign against this company more so than I'm about to do on the web.

The hardware store should be ashamed this is on the shelf ready for any DIY to mess up. Mine looks great aside from color and why does it put dust on my finger? That company also had some jackleg install a stove that I've always done but he didn't have pliers. He asked to buy mine and I said you can have them if you use Teflon tape. He showed it at the cutoff I installed 14 years back.

Kid and wife sleep in living room and I smelled gas in morning, gas company came by and it was leaking as no tape on stove end and the soapy tube that came with it wasn't used. They tried to kill my wife and kid and sold me this junk. That they can create an "appeasement" invoice so quickly is scary. They're a danger like this product's dust. Again, these are my thoughts and opinion. And I'm just trying warn people from my experience.

Temp 70 degrees at best (39 outside), cold water, out of pan it will begin to set in minutes (like 1 minute) so if that's too wet then you'd need a hand tamp to set and grinder to smooth. I have mortar grout in kitchen that needs repairs buy it's been over a decade.

Anyways, I could provide a video and I taped my tile not to deal with haze and clean up. I was and still am proud of my work, however OCD I know it's done right. Is it not cured, why do they talk about certain things when this is to have sealant polymers?

I have another bathroom and a foyer to grout though returning this grout L0w3's is going to be my highlight. If what I installed doesn't set harder I will lose it. We've dealt with every crook and joker for 9 months now and to have a toilet back I did my homework. Too much water being an excuse, when using their ratios is is horsesh1t as my grandfather would've said. If this doesn't set properly I will lose it. I have sealer, I'm going to give it 72 hours but I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy. All my opinion.

Turned my tile grey

I applied the tile sealer as directed. It turned my tile gray. I have to remove the sealer and re-seal with another product. Totally disgusted with their product.

We purchased this product at Floor & Decor in Wayne, New Jersey.

We purchased this product at the recommendation of a sales representative at Floor & Decor. Within a couple of months, the grout in our shower began cracking - I'm talking huge cracks. Our contractor said it was the grout. However, Floor & Decor told us "We get these calls from customers all the time. These contractors get full of themselves and rely on their experience with other grouts; not bothering to read the directions. This grout is like concrete. They need to use precise measurements or the grout will fail. In fact, we keep measures in our store that we sell, so that they can measure precisely." What??? So, they (Floor & Decor AND Mapei) realize that this is a recurring problem. In fact, I've read other online reviews that display 2.3 out of 5, with loads of similar complaints, owing to this repeated issue. After relaying to my contractor, and his kneeling on the floor for 20 minutes, attempting locate and read the small print on the packaging (with his iPhone magnifier!) he finally found the section displaying the "precise" measurements required - in spite of his having done this for decades and never having encountered this with another grout ... which, by the way, he never selected nor previously used. If any retailer is going to push this product, they should add a warning NOT to rely on years of experience, but to follow their PRECISE measurements. Otherwise, the customer will end up having to dole out MORE money for both tile AND grout than they already have. Mapei should place a PROMINENT disclaimer on their packaging - in BOLD, RED font - that can be easily seen. However, why would they be incentivized to do this? I mean, why bring attention to such a significant detail that might then dissuade a prospective client from buying their product?! Being risk averse, I will NOT be rolling the dice and reapplying their product, in spite of the assurances from the Floor & Decor representative. I'm not made of money. If you have time and money to potentially waste, then use this product.

Absolute pile of poo

Absolute pile of poo, been a tiler for nearly 30 years, used the adhesive and ultra grout a few times, after using the adhesive once, would never use it again. Gave the grout the benefit of my doubt but was proved right, just nowhere as good as other grouts on the market. Had an issue with the white ultra grout powdering in places, customer services just made excuses and sent me instructions on how to mix, apply and clean. Explained that it was the first time this had ever happened to me in all my time as a tiler, this was totally ignored. In my opinion and a lot of others, that Mapei should listen to the feed back of there customers and be more helpful

I am an installer

I am an installer, I work for myself, something that I noticed with all the bad reviews, either too much mortar was smeared between tiles, not cleaning the tiles before grout, not mixing mortar correctly with specific mix ratio, One review someone used mastic on the floor, not recommended, One person said they used clips on the wall and tiles fell, improper amount of mortar was used, did not have 95 percent of coverage, another review someone used mastic and mortar mixed, and wonders why they had a problem, Another person had unlevel concrete and not enough mortar, wonders why they have issues, these reviews blames the product and not themselves, but after reading all the negative reviews, I will honestly say, they were all installation errors and not product defects.
Mapei is a very good product, I have nothing but good things to say, they have excellent customer service and technical support, they are amazing at what they do, they guide installers, they have an education system online, and they also have seminars (before pandemic) Mapei is a product that I trust,
Always follow recommendations from the manufacturer and you won’t have problems,
White grout go avalanche
If you don’t follow manufacturer recommendations, I don’t recommend writing bad reviews, plain and simple. Have a good day everyone and install your jobs clean and smooth.

MAPEI UK BEWARE OF THEIR grouting PRODUCTS

MAPEI UK
BEWARE OF THEIR GROUTING PRODUCTS
One of their grouting product had no proper instruction on how to apply to avoid issues and clearly was not suitable for the tiles they say it is!
Result after 10 attempts at removing the excess from tiles our tradesman still has not got it off!
We did contact the company and they sent someone out to us but no help whatsoever other than to offer us a can of their Pulicol to help remove it and to deny any responsibility!
We did ask for an extra can of Pulicol to try to remove what remained but they outright refused saying the one they had given was a gesture of goodwill!!!!!!
Shocking service and product clearly was not suitable for all the tiles they say it is!!!!
We have spent a lot of money on the porcelain patio and 100’s of pounds more on trying to get the excess removed and they could not even do that for us!!!
No warnings regards the excess grout marking on their product and their should be!!!!

Absolute load of crap

Absolute load of crap, irresponsible “product advisor “advisers, a lady and Mr. Rick O’Brien gave me the wrong advice to force the drying process by using a fan and space heater instead of making it clear that The Premium Mortar and the Eco Prim Grip they will not work together. My last conversation with a manager “Logan” demonstrated unprofessional analytical skills and unwilling taking responsibility for the damaged caused by an ill advise which cost me to remove the installed tiles (time to remove titles, cost of used The Premium Mortar and the Eco Prim Grip, new tiles and materials). and do it again, but with other product. I asked to talk to a CEO, I was denied that. I offered a compromised of my lost with “Logan” I was denied any consideration. I will leave reviews everywhere I can Mapei poor product advise, knowledge and mishandling and by contacting Lowes the GA office and BBB.

This is the worst product I have ever…

This is the worst product I have ever used. I thought it would save me time but now have to redo the whole job again a swell as the cost for the self leveling parts and sheet rock tiled the bathroom wall area around Bath alcove new Durrock and tiles. Allowed to dry for 2 days after removing leveling equipment tiles started falling off the wall no adhesion to the tiles, they are as clean as new.
Very poor product Next time will read online reviews and not take the sales person word

Absolute load of crap, if I explained my whole experience with this product it might get too long and boring.

My floor is in a right mess because it was laid on top of a clean and primed concrete floor, it was perfect when Finnished but after 2 days it started to crack and lift up and it had never been walked on. As the days went on it became more and more cracked until the floor got so bad now we have to rip it all up, all 90 square metres and do it again but I will not be using this crap.

We contacted mapie customer service but we were messed about, passed all round the office first stating with Graham and then having to go through everything again with Andrew Bradley (who should be sacked for how he treats customers) he told me the floor was contaminated and not cleaned first and basically get on with it. That made me angry because I know for a fact the floor was cleaned and then he tried to say it wasn't primed first. Again that is rubbish because I primed the floor 3 times, I asked if they could send someone out to investigate but they didn't want to do this (as it didn't suit what outcome they wanted) and now are completely ignoring my emails.

Take the risk but if it doesn't work for yourself, don't hold your breath because mapie customer care (especially if you get Graham or Andrew Bradley) will try everything they can to not help you and send you on your way. I am now going to get there supervisors involved. This has caused a lot of stress on my family waiting around for mapie, I will leave reviews every where I can on this product.

Very unprofessional.
