IMMORAL OR INCOMPETENT (or both) ?

Manorfield Cars sold my daughter her first car with a burnt out clutch. My daughter worked tirelessly for years, saving every spare penny she could to afford her very first car. It was a milestone she had earned through hard work, making the purchase an incredibly meaningful moment for her. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned to disappointment when it became clear that the vehicle had been sold to her with a damaged clutch. As a first-time buyer, she placed her trust in the dealership to provide a roadworthy vehicle in good working condition. Instead, she was left facing unexpected repair costs and the distress of discovering that the car was not in the condition she had reasonably expected when she made such a significant investment. The experience has not only caused financial hardship but has also undermined her confidence in what should have been a proud and memorable achievement. Shame on you all !!!!!

Hi Padraig , unfortunately the issue here is one of “driver error” rather than a faulty clutch . A clutch slipping is by causing excessive friction and heat, usually by slipping the clutch—holding the pedal halfway between engaged and disengaged—while applying heavy acceleration.
We did offer to inspect the vehicle when you called us but the car was never presented to us .
One of the first things we check prior to selling any car is a clutch slip test . The clutch was perfectly fine . If I remember correctly that car was one owner with only 43000 kilometres. We are more than happy to accept responsibility for a problem if it’s our fault or component failure..Anyone who has even the briefest of mechanical knowledge would understand how and why this has occurred. We would never risk getting negative reviews over issues as simple as a car needing clutch prior to sale. We probably could have done something to help you if you had called in with the car .

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !

Well kept premises, good selection of immaculately presented cars, friendly staff.....enough to make you think you were dealing with decency. I purchased an Audi A6 for a reasonable price, the 2nd key and the Cartell history report were ''in the bosses office'' and would be forwarded to me. They never arrived and soon I got the notion to pay online for a car history report myself. To my disgust I discovered that the car they sold me had been an insurance write-off. Most annoying is that they waved me off the forecourt with my kids in the back, knowing that they were compromising our safety. It's unacceptable that they are allowed to do this, every motor dealer should be legally obliged to inform buyers of such issues and should be legally responsible for any injury or damage caused as a result of their negligence and/or dishonesty. It won't kill you to by-pass this company, but it might if you don't !
