Unfortunately the bed was like a trampoline. It was so bouncy you'd fall if you turned in bed. The room was very small. Check the reviews. I don't believe the five Star reviews. It was old and dated. No air conditioning. Definitely won't stay again. Told staff member checking out about the bed. He was not in the least interested and totally indifferent.

I'd stay again …

Despite some of the worrying reviews I'd read, I found this to be a pleasant experience. Yes, the rooms are on the small side, but they are clean and tidy, with good facilities and a modern shower and plenty of hot water. Bed was comfortable too. I'd definitely stay there again.

2 star accommodation

Staff were nice and the first impression was good.
We booked a small double and small it really was. It was a single student room with a small double bed.
It was impossible to have 2 people moving around at the one time.
The room was very tired and felt like a 2 star. The cleanliness in the bathroom was poor with the ceiling vent being very mucky and congealed. We weren't keen to walk around in the room in our bare feet either. No toiletries and nowhere to purchase them in the hotel was a let down. There also isn't a safe in the room which really should be a priority.

After an error at booking a room via…

After an error in booking a room via Booking.com I rang the hotel to check my reservation, very helpful, they managed to cancel my booking and rebook me saving me a few extra pounds, I then used the fast checking service so when I arrived everything was so smooth and easy I was soon checked in and had a lovely say, breakfast was great too I was happy with what I got, and self service suited us fine and the late weekend breakfast was perfect, we attend a part each year in November and I am booked again for this year, it's now my go to hotel in Manchester City Centre, Thank you for all your help we're looking forward to seeing you again in November

Not the stay I was expecting

Bed was a bit too firm but the stay was ruined by multiple people knocking on my door at 3am, sitting outside my room and talking for hours. Also finding a couple of men having sexual intercourse in the corridor during the evening which caused myself and my friends to been awoke by the noise. Maybe CCTV and evening staff are needed to make sure this doesn't happen. Would not recommend staying here

Shabby, expensive and tiny tiny rooms

Daughter and friend booked double room for around a month ago for concert but venue changed and they had taken a rate which could be moved but not cancelled.they loved it from April to today. On arrival it was evident that this ‘compact’ double was no bigger than single room Uni student accommodation. It was battered and shabby. The rate they were given at the time Was over £100 for room only. Online just now I could book same accommodation with them incl. breakfast for £91! When I rang to ask why the rate they paid is so much more for a very very small very basic shabby room with no breakfast, they said it is due to demand? When I explained that the hotel has a large proportion of rooms available so demand is not high for tonight, they said that it is because it is the weekend? When I said that I can book right now cheaper and include breakfast they then said they cannot offer any better rate or offer breakfast to be included. Room suitable not to swing a cat in is 310.

Facilities were good but...

Facilities were good. The room, though a squeeze, was well resourced, clean and had good heating. Bathroom, the same.

Check-in person was rude, incoherent and officious when challanged that the pre-authorisation of bank details with a cash amount held by the hotel during a customers stay was made clear on the website when booking the room.

He was generally incoherent so couldn't understand when he attempted to answer the questions l had. He came across as not being used to being asked for information. He was not able to explain anything clearly.

Reception staff generally unfriendly. Stared instead of smiled.

Housekeeping and bar staff friendly.

I would look elsewhere before considering staying here again.
