I have a self directed IRA with a different company and since opening a new account with MainStar I am shocked with the difference! Mainstar has great client service, and the ability to actually speak to a human is a huge differentiator. Please keep up the good work!

Easy to contact

Sarah Blenn is my contact person and a pleasure to work with. She kept me informed on the status of my transfer and gave me guidance on what I needed to do to make it happen. She always answered the phone or returned my calls quickly. That alone is highly unusual and deserves 10 stars or more! She is friendly yet professional and very easy to work with.

I am writing about inherited accounts…

I am writing about inherited accounts and your fees are way to high. I have only had it a couple of months and I am locked out of my accounts already. Not user friendly at all.

As a Custodian, we provide recordkeeping/tax reporting information for you, but we are not allowed to provide any type of investment advice from a regulatory standpoint. We are not involved in selling investments, just in providing custody services. If we can be of assistance with being locked out of your account please call customer service and they can assist you. I had a tax question on my rollover from another IRA. Kate has always been so helpful with all my questions. This one, being tax-related was not appropriate for her to answer, but she did guide me in the right direction.

I had to open an IRA account to house…

I had to open an IRA account to house new Private Placement shares, as well as have some of the same shares transferred from another firm. A pretty complicated process! Every employee at Mainstar Trust was polite, friendly, and very helpful. I’m very pleased with decision to start this relationship with Mainstar. Keep up the great work!

Your service is excellent

Your service is excellent. Personnel on phone always polite, business like and can usually answer all questions put to them.
There is follow-up regarding any problems that may arise with paperwork.
When questions are emailed in there is a quick response with the answers.
When filling out various forms staff is always available for hand holding, as I found out.
No complaints with Mainstar Trust.

You insisted on having my street…

You insisted on having my street address. I emphasized - Do not mail there, there is no USPS delivery there. Only UPS, FEDEX, etc. PO Box 2084 MUST be used. You slopppily mailed to street address anyway. We are in Florida for a couple of months. Mail is forwarded from NY. I don't want to change the address for this amount of time when we will be back in NY soon. Because of the sloppyness, on 2/8 I received the "Agreement" mailed in mid December which was returned a couple of times.
Also, I created a password but was never able to log in. Staff refused to help and sent temporary log in to the street address. Naturally that was returned and by the time I got it, it wouldn't work. On and on. Wasted hours of MY time, which is NO CONCERN TO YOU, and I am sure there will be no attempt to make it up to me. I am tired of, and don't want to hear apologies.
