Buyer Beware! Very Unpleasant Customer Service

I ordered 4x Black One Styling Wax with Argan Oil I searched everywhere on the internet, and this was the only company that was selling it. I had been told locally that this product had been discontinued. The company is based in France, and the order was for UK delivery.

The package arrived quickly and was well packed. I was delighted at first until, on closer examination, I noticed that the product sent was not the same as advertised online, the one that I had ordered.

I immediately emailed the retailer to inform them that the wrong item had been sent. The response was not what I expected. They insisted that it was what I ordered, even though I sent photographs of the item I received. They then said that the manufacturer had changed the container and that the ingredients were the same as the one I ordered and that they were under no obligation to inform customers of any changes that the manufacturer had made.

I sent photographs of the ingredient list on the one that I had received and also of the one I expected to receive, and the ingredients differed; the one they sent contained castor oil and not argan oil. At this point, I requested a full refund.

I was appalled by their response; they adamantly refused to issue a refund and said I could return the item at my own expense, but they were not going to issue a refund. I told them that they were in breach of various consumer legislation. To which they replied that they were going to sue me for deflamation!

After several emails, I advised them that the matter was no longer about me requesting a refund but it was now about me requesting a chargeback from my bank for "goods not as described." There was no response to this.

I had actually paid through PayPal, and so I raised a dispute and sent all the photos and emails as evidence. The company did not respond to my PayPal claim, and I escalated it for Paypal to make a decision.

I received a full refund from PayPal, including shipping costs.

This company seems to have a habit of threatening customers who complain with legal action. All of their communication is in French, so unless you have a good command of the language enough to argue a claim, beware of ordering from this company.

I can't believe this company is pretending they don't know about this complaint and are asking for more information. How much more information do they need?

Buyer beware; this must happen more often than less if they can't remember the incident. PayPal must be refunding a lot of their clients if they really have to search for it. Several emails passed back and forth between us; this must also be a regular occurrence if they cannot find the correspondence.

To behave so disgracefully and then not even want to own up to their disgusting service, forcing the customer to find and send more information. This just exemplifies their bad service and disorganisation. Appauling!

If this platform allowed uploads, I would provide a copy of the order and photos of the wrong items that were sent compared to what was advertised. That is the one failing of this platform, and unscrupulous sellers can try to dismiss genuine reviews, claiming they have no knowledge of the order.

The only thing this company got right was the quick delivery, but unfortunately of the wrong goods.

Well, there you have it! The company's response speaks volumes. What more evidence is needed to illustrate the terrible customer service? Once again, threatening legal action because I submitted a truthful review outlining my shopping experience with them.

I can assure anyone reading this PayPal: do not settle disputes without credible evidence. Moreover, who goes through all the bother to purchase items to just raise a dispute?

The vendor contends that the item matched the description. Clearly PayPal did not agree and adjudicated in my favour based on the pictures of the product along with ingredients that did not match the item advertised on their website. This company clearly thinks sending wrong items is acceptable.

In response to the vendor's question of "What do I want now?" I do not want anything else from this company; one bad experience is enough, thank you. I'm simply sharing an unpleasant shopping experience with anyone who chooses to research reviews about your company.

Thank you for your illuminating and wonderful response. It does a far better job demonstrating just how unpleasant your customer service is. Far better than anything I could have written here.

You mention legal sanctions in France; I do not live in France, but may I once again remind you that, because your website is selling to an international market, you are obliged to adhere to European and British consumer legislation because you ship to the UK.

Secondly, the item which you purchase has just a new label.

Which is quite common in all the brands :)

For this, it’s mentionned in our CGV, that we are not responsible for this changing packaging.

Thirdly, you made a Paypal dispute, which was your initial intention to get a free refund for the item you purchase in our shop :)
