It was easy to use. The templates are helpful too. However, I wish more templates are available in the Office Timeline Add-in Plus subscription, including Planned vs Actual feature. I have these accessible in my Smartsheet subscription so most of the time, I use Smartsheet for these instead of the Office Timeline.

What could be a powerful visual tool but needs more development work and support. Login for Online Timeline needs a refresh every time you login (Having to delete cookies is not a fix nor been asked to wait a while and refresh the page). You need to manually save every time you edit or lose data (very strange you would think save is automatic). There are more MAC users in the market and Online Timeline has bare bone features and not as powerful as the App and Desktop version which is only available for Microsoft users.

Office Timeline is a visually impressive tool that produces clean, professional-looking timelines — far more presentation-friendly than Microsoft Project. It’s great for executive reporting and slide decks, which I often used it for in my role.
That said, there are a few frustrations. The tool doesn’t always update actual dates accurately when revisiting plans in PowerPoint, and it requires quite a bit of manual intervention to feed and maintain the data. Even when following the suggested process (Edit Data, Edit Timeline, Style Pane, Refresh Data), the slide data often shifts after each refresh and needs to be corrected before presenting — which can be tedious and frustrating.
Ultimately, while I like the look and feel, I decided to unsubscribe. The pricing feels too high for the limited frequency with which I create Gantt charts, especially since we already use another tool for day-to-day project operations. I found myself using Office Timeline mainly for presentations, and given the manual rework required, it no longer felt cost-effective.

Better than MS Project, is all in one product. Unfortunately, it doesn't calculate % of completion, but they said it will be back.
