Love holidays taking almost a month to remove my dad who passed away
We booked a holiday that was meant to be my dad’s last holiday abroad as his health was declining. Unfortunately he passed away in early May. I contacted loveholidays on May 14th, to request my dad be removed.
I got an email to request his death certificate on May 14th, I replied within the hour.
I waited TEN days (24/5) to receive an email quote / amendment and in the email it said to reply within 48hours to accept. I emailed back within 1 hour to confirm to go ahead with the email. I heard nothing so on the 27/5 I called, spoke to customer service team and was told they would escalate it and it would be sorted within 48 hours. By Friday (29/5) I’d heard nothing so called again. Was once again told it would be escalated after the first person had set it as a task but not actioned it.
On Saturday 30th May I received an email from the same person called Nontobeko with some email that made little to no sense about transfers and bits..but nothing about actioning his removal and the reduction in balance.
I called and spent over an hour on the phone . I then spoke to a line manager named Pinky, who asked me to give her until Monday afternoon to get this sorted out.
It wasn’t sorted, I didn’t receive a call. So Tuesday morning and spoke to someone who said they’d get her to ring me - I made it very clear I was working between 10am-4pm, she emailed me at 3:35pm saying she’d tried calling twice but couldn’t reach me - I had no missed calls & it was before the time I’d said I’d be available anyway? - she said they were looking into it and were sorry for any distress caused but asking for a little more time to sort it out.
I then got an email from Nontobeko Tuesday (2/6) at 5:56pm.. ANOTHER quote / amendment to remove my dad.. with some waffle thrown in about transfers and flights etc.. and again stated I had to email them within 48hours if I wanted to go ahead with the amendment/ removal of my dad…
I emailed back within the hour, even asked for an email acknowledging receipt of that email confirming I wanted to go ahead..
once again, I heard nothing.
I gave it until this morning Friday 5th May. It’s now been a full month since my dad passed.
I’ve been trying to get loveholidays to simply remove my dad from our booking and amend the balance to £0.00 outstanding as we made payment for what they quoted us on the 2nd via email. I called, wanted to speak to a manager,
Was told they request call back within 24-72hours and that they’d escalate my case again.
I’ve just now received an email from someone called Andile, confirming we made payment on 3rd June, acknowledging we’d handle changing flight transfers once dad is removed.. she then for THE THIRD TIME sent me a quote / amendment to remove him… and for THIRD time said to reply within 48hours to accept the amendment… I’ve replied. Within the hour.
I am distraught at losing my dad, every time I log on to the booking I see his name.
There is now an outstanding balance to pay - which is the amount they need to take off remove to dad. How fast do you think they’ll be in touch come the 17th June when any final payment is due when it isn’t paid?!
I’m shell shocked by the lack of compassion, the total disregard for what our family is currently experiencing.
We fly on July 1st. Every other company we’ve dealt with has handled themselves correctly, as you’d expect them to handle a very sudden bereavement.. but love holidays can’t seem to even remove a person whose passed away and correct the account.
Absolutely disgusted

Simple and easy to use very fast and is self explanatory, took minutes to do booking
Booking was fast and easy
Booking was fast and easy. Had a little confusion with the checked baggage allowance but spoke to them and they confirmed the correct amount very quickly.
Super hotel, contemp decor, great staff and food lovely
The hotel was lovely; clean rooms, great staff and good food (5* UK is and always has been different in Europe so expect the reality of 4* equivalent).
The transfers weren’t well communicated at the airport. (We have always used private transfers prior to this holiday, and will revert once again - but worth a try if you’re on a budget).
Hotel pool super clean, and lovely updated rooms and balcony.
10/10 super easy to book
10/10 super easy to book. Confirmations were sent straight away. Had regular contact to make suee of any changes as well as helpful tips
Poor customer service, conflicting information, and no escalation process
I contacted Love Holidays after being told by a representative the previous day that I would be able to make a name change on my booking with either no fee or a reduced fee. When I contacted them again to arrange this, I was then told that this was not something they offer at all.
As I had been given completely different information on consecutive days, I requested to speak to a manager for clarification. Unfortunately, the representative, Natanil, refused to arrange this and provided several conflicting explanations. During the conversation I was told that customer service did not deal with the matter, that no managers were available, that managers communicated via live chat, and later that managers do not use live chat. I was even told it was “physically impossible” to speak to a manager.
If managers do not speak directly to customers, that should be explained clearly and consistently. Instead, I was given contradictory information throughout the conversation, making it impossible to understand the actual escalation process or get a clear answer regarding my booking.
The most frustrating part is not simply being told that a name change could not be arranged, but being told one thing by Love Holidays on one day and something completely different the next, while also being denied any meaningful opportunity to escalate the issue to a manager.
Customers deserve accurate information, transparency, and a clear complaints procedure. Unfortunately, my experience fell well below those expectations.
